Well, I suppose that's one way to get attention. While on Mardi Gras, I did what you basically did... ordered a slew of things to try. I think I thought the portions would be smaller, because I was dining by myself and wound up with enough food to feed an army. I even invited people at the next table to try some things. It was also a memorable meal because I went on formal night, so as I sat at my table in the French Quarter, I could watch all the people in their fancy garb struttin' around.

We'll be boarding the Breakaway as you'll be disembarking! If you do go to Cafe du Monde, have some chicory coffee with your beignets. My brother-in-law used to live on the 2nd floor of the Pontalba Building, right on the corner of Jackson Square and Decatur, and directly across the street from Cafe du Monde - fun times watching everyone from the balcony. Fortunately/unfortunately he has moved to the Garden District so a little bit more reserved now 😄 We're looking forward to great eats in NOLA!

Glad you had experience eating boudin balls, which are popular in south Louisiana. If you ever go to that part of the country try the boudin balls with pepperjack cheese inside the middle…yum!

Beignets are my favorite NOLA treat! I actually prefer Cafe Beignet over Cafe du Monde but both are yummy goodness.
