A frequent question I get after a cruise is "How was the food?" and it seem like quest for great cruise food is continuous. Well the search may end with Virgin Voyages. On my recent cruise on the Scarlet Lady I samples many of the different food option on board and I was quite blow away. Please enjoy my review of the Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady food. Cruise Food! I use Scentbird, I like to get perfume and cologne because I wear both. If you like heavier scents like Drakkar Noir, you might like Versace Dylan Blue. (Main notes: Incense, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Violet Leaf, Pepper) Bonus - it's not one of the scents that has the "premium" upcharge of $5-$10 anymore, it was the first time I got it.

We enjoyed our first Virgin Voyage a few weeks ago. The food was definitely amazing and the multiple options for how you can choose to dine was perfect for us. It will be difficult to go back to the offerings from other lines. Also AMAZING--Virgin just gifted us - and other sailers- with a $300 bar tab for our fall booking.

I've cruised on the Scarlet Lady twice and the food & service are impeccable. I've yet to have a bad meal on this ship.

We did back to back cruises on the Scarlet Lady from 8/5 to 8/15 and watched your videos before we left. Without question the food was a highlight. Everyone has different tastes so opinions are just that. Some of the food has changed since you were there as should be expected. I was not expecting Razzle Dazzle to be as good as it was. I was not as impressed at dinner as I was at breakfast. We ordered the frittata twice and they were completely different. One was light and fluffy which my wife loved. The other well done and firm which I prefer. Both were extremely delicious.
The wake was a disappointment and I love steak. The fish on the other hand was fantastic.
All of the restaurants are top notch. All of the dishes are not but again your taste may be different.
There were only a few dishes at the galley worth getting because most are premade. Things that need to be made to order seemed to be better as long as you season them.
My favorite food was in the dock house and on the dock at the back of the ship. The Tapas were the bomb. I probably had 5 meals of hanger steak, chicken thigh and shrimp skewers.
The one thing I must say is the friendliness, service and caring of the crew in every place we were was amazing. In talking to them they were very happy working there compared to the other cruise lines they worked for.
The other thing about this cruise is that it was relaxing. I normally prefer lots of activities but this was such a fantastic cruise that I enjoyed the relaxing nature of the cruise more than anything.

I was waiting for this video, I was on Scarlet Lady a few weeks before you. Virgin Voyages is our favorite cruise line, the food is amazing. You are our favorite cruise UA-camr.
My favorite bite was the shrimp at the Dock House. My favorite meal was the upcharge meal at Pink Agave the Pescado Zarandeado - Achiote halibut, lobster, grilled prawns and bay scallops!

OMGGGGG, Tony - that fooood!!! Everything looked and sounded fabulous and, believe it or not, I was thinking the duck tacos would be your pick and wah lah!! Them caramel chocolate dessert tacos looked like the bomb also!! Got me also wanting to go on a Virgin cruise just for the food like some others commented!! As usual, great video, content and narration - thank you for sharing!!

You did such a great job on this review, I've watched it twice. I'll be VV this month and am excited to try the alternate dining. The duck tacos looked really good. I'll definitely go for the bacon in the Wake.

Wow the presentation of the food on Virgin is really top-notch. To me it reminds me of how Crusing used to serve foods 30 years ago. They had some very nice presentations of their food back in the day of our first cruising. Now it’s kind of all standard looking. But I wouldn’t mind trying anything of what you had there just to see what it taste like. Nice video thank you Tony

Hey Tony! I just watched this and realize that hubby and I are in the clip from the pizza place. So we got cameos in two of your reviews from this sailing. LOL We're heading back on Scarlet this summer to do the 5nt Dominican Daze. And I'm absolutely heading back to Razzle Dazzle for that bacon because it was amazing!

We loved the food on the Scarlet Lady. Before we went we were going to skip Razzle Dazzle but they don’t want you to repeat restaurants so we gave them a try. It was so good! We ended up eating there a second time for dinner and also for breakfast. I agree the best food at sea. Also the Wake was the best steak house! Can’t wait to go again on her in January.
LOL! I'm in your generation & I remember all the boys wearing Drakkar Noir! Smelled so good! Us girls wore Liz Claiborne in the red triangle bottle!
Would love to see one of these videos on cocktails. IMHO… Carnival and Royal Caribbean’s cocktails are all made w/ the corn syrup cartons- ALL too artificially sweet but the winner for me is Norwegian Cruise Line. MUCH better quality craft cocktails.

My favorite dinner on the Discovery was the Beef Wellington that showed up at the buffet other next to the last night of the cruise.
Just heard you mention your review for Virgin on your live 5/21. My son and I will take our first Virgin cruise this fall from Southampton. I was loyal DCL for 2 years but I’m done with children so Virgin and Celebrity cruises scheduled. I appreciate your reviews as it’s helpful to know the differences between the lines.

Those duck tacos have me salivating! To be paired with the street corn and shrimp had to be divine. Love to know how to make the candied bacon, too. That said, it looked like every eatery beyond Agave also put out great dishes, but most were plated badly (esp that mushroom tartare)! FWIW, as with people, first impressions matter, and it all happens in 2 seconds!
i have to agree. the food was amazing and to my suprise Razzle Dazzle was my go to place, I became a beleiver in the imposible burger and the BACON.
You have tipped me a little more toward sailing on Virgin than I was. I'm not a very picky eater and I'm okay with food that's good but not spectacular. But I do love to have some spectacular food sometimes! Thanks for tossing us this food-specific review!

We took this same Cruise on Scarlet Lady just last week and it was amazing!! The food was amazing and if you did not like something there was always something else to eat all the time, It was great that you could order more then 1 entree. The Cabin were so sleek and modern and the staff was wonderful. I was very fortunate to be selected to invited to a private invite that is very discreet and only a few passenger got the invite but it was amazing. So hopefully someone has that same experience.
The good old days returned, almost! When all the food was included in your fare. Honestly never thought that specialty restaurant's would never work, but yet they did to some degree. My thoughts were that if you offer speciality restaurants the only way to work, make the previously already good MDR not as good. And that is what has happened through the years. I am happy to see one cruise line returning most of the food options being included.

The two times I when on virgin its was the best food I've had. And I Love their food concept its amazing. There are over 20+ eateries and the food is so good that pizza literarily is an after thought.

Curry and schnitzel! Omg everything looked so delicious. I really want to cruise Virgin. Mainly because it’s adults only and it’s modern ‘outside the box’ concepts.
At the WAKE we had the Lamb Chops is the BOMB... Also you can get the meatballs as part of room service.. Chix soup Room service was excellent also.
That bacon I can go for that bacon! But now I know why there’s a workout on that ship cause all that good food. Thanks for sharing the video with us!💕🎉⚓️🛳👍🏼

That bacon looks similar to what we had on Holland and it was amazing ! When you go on Holland be sure and order the clothesline bacon 🥓 as an appetizer
I could be wrong, but those charred veggies on the side at Razzle Dazzle looked like blistered shishito peppers. Those are quite good!

Hey Tony How is the Food on Discovery Princess in your opinion? We were very impressed with the food on Discovery Princess when we sailed on her this past April.
Best bites for me - the bacon at Razzle Dazzle; the watermelon slice topped with tofu cream, berries, and granola; and the Mexican Street Corn at Pink Agave - but honestly EAT EVERYTHING!
Also some of my faves but my #1 was the hanger steak at the dock house was my #1
I also STILL think about that bacon! It is amassing! You need to try the butternut squash ravioli in Razzle Dazzle next time. It's crazy good!

Some of this has changed, I’m on the Scarlet Lady right now! The food is absolutely AMAZING and I’m a super picky eater. There is for-sure, something for everyone! It’s also cool to see them change some menu items around so if you sail again (which I’m doing), it may not all be the same!
Oh, and the test kitchen is an incredible experience, absolute must-do IMO.
Well, 😋 yummmmm - headed to my kitchen, think it will leave a lot to be desired!

So many say the food on this cruise is the best. My lady and I have our eyes on Virgin, but not feeling the harsh dark reds and grey colors on the decks. Part of this ship looks like a naval vessel, but we are willing to keep an open mind and try it one day. Their private beach looks amazing! Ugh, so many cruises so little time. Thanks for posting Tony!
Forget the colors. They are a small part of the atmosphere. You will love the service and the other passengers all having a great time.
The packaged food is very hygenic as other passengers have not touched any foods in your box or package (chefs do wear gloves as do all the food workers who would handle any food). All looks attractive, has a lot of interesting variety and seems worth the fare for the "fare". We have not yet cruised on the line as we recently moved back West from Florida. Who knows? Yes, glazed and peppered bacon is excellent. We had similar at the Marriott Hotel on Cornado in San Diego, California a number of years ago when on vacation.
Tony, did you go to the Korean BBQ place Gunbae? We loved it in December for my birthday. My favorite dessert was the Affogato with the chocolate gelato in the Italian restaurant.

There’s a few restaurants that make bacon like that in my area and i agree it’s the best. I think it’s known sometimes as, “millionaire’s bacon” if you want to give making it at home a try 😊 all the food looks so yummy, especially the island spread!

Oh yes I agree. I loved the Steak in the Mexican. Better than the Wake. Also loved Italian and Korean BBQ. Ummmm good. Did you try the Pizza? It is soooo good.
