    Good evening Mr. Newton, I have finished building my simple upgrade trainer as your instructions, I feel very happy about this since I am a beginner both in construction and in flying them. Thank you very much for your help. Having the video of the flight I send it to you.

    Hi Andrew,
    I am new to RC planes and bought a float plane from the local store and I am having trouble getting coordinated and rather than trash this plane, I am building one of your trainers. I did not have any foam for the nose piece. I saw a woman in the store on the weekend with a pool noodle (foam tube for swimming) and found my solution. I cut it up last night and it works just fine. I think it is a little softer than packing foam, but I am certain it will do the job. Thanks for all the info you post - a huge help.

    awesome video, good simple construction,very durable,way better than dollar store foam. I enjoyed your presentation. Expect a lot of people wanting to know what electrics you used. Geesh people,figure it out on your own sometime. scratch builds are about figuring that stuff out. The wings could be built using the flite test method of folding foam panels,its a learning type plane,so go learn it. Fun Flying!

      @AndrewNewton  8 років тому

      You would set it at about 3.3 per cell. Seems low, but the voltage drops when the battery is being used. You would stop using the battery when it's about 3.7V per cell at rest, which is roughly 3.3V while flying.

    I’m a complete noob. Bear with me. Why does it need to be dihedral/ poly hedral- as a result of being 3 channel?
    What would happen if the wind were flat?

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 роки тому

      Good question Dave. To turn a plane it needs to bank into the turn, otherwise it skids sideways. Usually use rudder to initiate the turn and ailerons to control the bank. 3ch plane doesn't have ailerons so it uses dihedral to cause the banking. Rudder turns the plane slightly side on to the direction of airflow, in that state the dihedral rolls the plane.
