It's great to see you simple 3ch plane develop into this bird. It certainly flies well and I look forward to seeing a more detailed video in the future.
i just picked up all the material to build this. mine will be slightly larger and will have all the goodies. auto pilot fpv etc.. thanks for all you do
Nice job Andrew, always love to watch your vids, Like the soothing/relaxing background music. 1st snow here and -10, building time here in Canada. All the best for 2016
wow, how did I miss this video!!! I want to live where you live! I like the part where you were high over the water! Thanks. PS. I am still waiting on the video you promised me of flying out into the water, haha.
+Andrew Newton I think I will do it next time I go to Mexico. Now that I have the Taranis plus radio, I think I will be a bit more confident in the radio link. I regulartly fly over the water when I go there, but always keep in near. Although I have crashed in the water before (siimilar to when you crashe the Fokker ) I can always rent a jet ski to retreive it if I lose it, but not sure how well Adams dollar tree foam will float.
If the thrust was straight ahead the plane would nose over because the centre of drag is below the centre of thrust, so the thrust has to be directed down towards the nose to make it fly level. If the thrust was directed up, like you are suggesting, the plane would do forward loops out of control.
+Stephen Fereday Stephen, I'm so sorry to hear that. This part of 13th beach (No 40 marker) is often deserted. A great place for quiet contemplation....and getting wind blasted while flying a good sloper.
Yes watch all your vids I am a big fan Would have come down under sooner but my wife was ill When I get my head back on I intend to come and see Meantime keep up the great work
+SwoopRC Very good question. If the motor pointed straight ahead the thrust vector would be above the drag vector causing a forward rotation force. Directing the thrust down a bit reduces that rotation force or tendency to dive. In other words the high mounted motor wants to push the nose over, and tilting it forward fixes it.
+Captain Crazy Danke Captain. I will build another just for the video. Here are some more detailed photos with dimensions newtonairlines.blogspot.com.au/2015/12/simple-3-channel-trainer.html

+Chris Gate Thanks Chris. Build video is my holiday project.
Very pleasure flying in the wind .Thank you
Nice little Home Build Andrew....Looks relaxing to fly, 30 mins on 1300 Lipo..?...wow.

Thanks, might need ailerons for an autopilot
@@AndrewNewton yes indeed. Got the wings built. Added ailerons
I really like the way you fly.... so smooth
Thanks. Gliding in the lift is always smooth

+Markus Ritter Same to you Markus, have a great 2016.
+Andrew Newton I look forward to the video build. ;)
She's a beaut for sure. Nice cruiser.
beautiful plane!!
Thanks For sharing blueprints and all your glider componentes.
No problem 👍

+Christian Prodanov That's funny. I think of you every time I fly out over the water. It's still on the list of things to do, need a really calm day.

Looks to be an excellent design/build for no-stress flying & beginners sir! :) I like that :)
+DutchRC Adventures Definitely, very easy.
I'm really interested in the plans 😁
Nice plane, amazing flying, mate! 👍
+Bjarne Kautz Plans coming soon amigo
nice one, beautiful on board view :)
Indeed very stable: nice work!!
+Frank Nelissen Thanks Frank, time to start the build video.
great vid. Is the flight cam a mobius?
+FastEasyLifeTips No it's the 808 #16. The Mobius gives much sharper results but the 808 is lighter and smaller.
Hello, isn't the motor + propeller supposed to be pointing downwards to create more lift ?
If the thrust was straight ahead the plane would nose over because the centre of drag is below the centre of thrust, so the thrust has to be directed down towards the nose to make it fly level. If the thrust was directed up, like you are suggesting, the plane would do forward loops out of control.
Unfortunately lost my dear wife last July Must come down there and find that Wonderful beach Lovely plane nice video

Nice plane, does it still fly well when not sloping? e.g at the park?
+PaddockPlane RC Yes it's a very smooth and easy cruiser at the park.
Rc newbie here, whats the purpose of having the motor angled slightly upwards?
Great video by the way!
+Andrew Newton love your vids... just a question is the angle of attack not a bit too much? since the motor is almost at the same level as your wing!
+Airgunsmith NL Thanks. Still making adjustments but that's the best angle so far. I suspect I have some decalage issues complicating the setup.
красиво!!!))) С новым годом !!!
+Евгений Панин Thanks Happy New Year to you too
Merry Christmas to 1 and all
+Chris MT HEAD and to you too
Nice film Andrew, is that a Mobius camera on your hat?
That's right, Mobius
looks like a stress free flyer
+28th St. Air Land & Sea Apart from when I lose signal and it keeps flying straight and level.
Question: What's the device velcroed to the left side of the nose?
+Mgraemem Okay, disregard. I see from below that it is a low battery alarm.
+Mgraemem Battery alarm
very good design
wow so owesome and the Music thanks for shering..
Superb !
So you control with 9XR touch screen? :)
+Boekan Arsheetec You noticed, it's the 9XR plus plus
+Andrew Newton Must be 9XR Pro Plus.
great flying object please make a build vid
sorry for my bad english but im a german
+Captain Crazy Danke Captain. I will build another just for the video. Here are some more detailed photos with dimensions newtonairlines.blogspot.com.au/2015/12/simple-3-channel-trainer.html
+Andrew Newton thanks for the link it looks really great if i have more time i build one
Nice plane
am a big fan
👍 g'day mate and thanks
