last concert I saw you at was in Tarrytown and that is when I knew i had NOTHING in common with my then husband, my feet couldn't stop stompin and I couldn't help singin with ya, and the idiot beside me (the x) was lifeless. How anyone could remain lifeless at one of your concerts cannot be human, nor have a soul!! So thank you for opening my eyes upon the dead! BLESS U!!!!!
Bromberg and his band were SPECTACULAR last night on Cape Cod! Blues, bluegrass, country, folks, rock, doo-wop. These gifted musicians can do it ALL--and they do it with heart and SOUL.
Seeing them a mile from home soon. Life is Good!!!
I have loved Davids music since the mid '70's. I first saw him perform when he opened for the Grateful Dead at the race track in Portland, Oregon in '78 or '79. I've seen him dozens of times since and missed him those years he stopped touring. Each time I see him it seems to be better than the last. Now that his current record label is in Saint Paul, MN where I have lived these past thirty years he makes a stop here with regularity and I couldn't be more pleased.
I try to catch him each year at the Cedar Cultural Center. He never disappoints.

i saw the David Bromberg Band in about 1975 in Missoula, MT up on the UofM campus in a very small venue (UC Ballroom). If I remember correctly, they were playing the "undercard" for Jesse Colin Young and his band. So I was absolutely stunned by this group whom i had never to that point heard of! David had a large band--trombone, trumpet(s?)....--i want to say 7/8 members--who from opening to end produced some of the most unbelievable music i had ever heard. I saw most of the great bands of the 60s and 70s and i put that nite's music in my "top 3"--along with Clapton and Santana on the same bill in Spokane, and Fleetwood Mac in Missoula, again in about 1975. As much as the attendees that memorable nite loved Jesse Colin Young (does anyone remember his classic song, "Ridgetop")---Bromberg's band stole the show from the headliner that nite.

Blues is rife with under rated but heavily covered bluesmen. Poor David never got his just recognition.
