In the 50th anniversary Tom Baker and Matt Smith had a conversation with each other.
Matt- “I never forget a face”.
Tom- “I know you don’t. And in years to come, you might find yourself revisiting a few. But just the old favourites, eh?”
Tom Baker wasn’t kidding
What I'm really excited for is how 11-13 impact 14's character as a whole. Will their experiences shape how he approaches the threat instead of doing it how 10 always did?
It's just going to be David Tennant. It's not going to be so complex
I can’t bloody wait. I want to see how he handles himself knowing the time lords were saved etc it’s all so interesting. Written by RTD as well is perfect.
At least with RTD we may finally get a good story again. I abandoned DW. I will give RTD a shot.
Not seen Dr who since tenant left,if he's coming back I'm watching it
They are and have always been the same person
I think my heart will melt with joy hearing David finally saying he is ready to go.
It’s always hard watching to EOT and hearing him say he isn’t. Will be such a great ending to his character arc.
My thoughts are that this will be something of a redemption arc for the tenth Doctor. Looking back, he was one of the darkest Doctors (at least in the modern era. I'm not familiar with the older series except by reputation.) Ten was dangerous. There were times during his run where you could see the War Doctor come through the scars that the Time War left in him. Especially with that talk of the Time Lord Victorious near the end, and I think he realized that in the final rant when Wilf was stuck in that chamber. He finally realized what kind of monster he was becoming and knew it was time to go. But right at the end, as he was looking over the edge, he started wishing for one more go at being the kind of Doctor that his other incarnations were. And that's what "I don't want to go" was all about. He wanted a chance to redeem himself. That's why he wasn't ready. So he managed to take this opportunity somehow to claw his way back into the driver's seat from wherever the Doctor's incarnations go when they regenerate. One more adventure to get it right and die a good man, ready to go and satisfied that he'd done the name of the Doctor proud.
That's stupid isn't it
For those of us who are deeper than a teaspoon, this is an interesting idea. May not be what they go with, but I'm looking forward to whatever they do come up with. This sounds like ... a really neat "Doctor's thoughts" vignette I'd like to read on AO3 ... Thanks for sharing.

My theory: This incarnation was brought about because there is a piece of the 10th incarnation still out there, inside Donna. Facing a troubled regeneration the doctor was influenced by a sympathetic psychic connection to the energy and knowledge locked inside Donna's head. As a result of the Meta Crisis, Donna is part doctor after all. Maybe the doctor's ability to regenerate into a new form is damaged, maybe he will need the regeneration energy locked inside her to be able to regenerate again. Getting it from her will allow her to remember him without burning up, but he will as he regenerates into the next form.
Oh that's really good! The psychic link! The Master and the Drum beat from the temporal schism on Gallifrey! Psychic stuff was super important to Russels lore, including the Archangel network, TARDIS, reading minds, etcetera
There's literally another 10th doctor in the parallel world with rose but my theory is
Fan service
@Stevie T
So you didn't watch this video then?
My theory is the show was sinking faster than the Lusitania after its enco7nter with a torpedo and the return of 10 is a last ditch hail merry to lure people on the small cluster of flaming debries still floating on the surface
The Doctor entered the TARDIS; he looked at his hand as it started to glow."
Perhaps I'll be ginger" the doctor mused to himself,
He set the coordinates
"I save my friend restored her memory I think that's enough"
The energy fluctuated as if in agreement,
With the flick of a leaver, the TARDIS took flight.
"I'm ready now, no regrets" the energy swelled "ALLONS-Y" he yelled as the room exploded with light. Oranges and yellows danced around the room; sparks flowed from the console.
Alarms and bells rang from all over; the energy emanating from the doctor swelled one last time brighter than it ever had before, then vanished without a trace.
I've seen a lot of people theorize him as 10.2, basically an older, more world-weary Tenth Doctor, and that's kind of the only way I see this going. We've already seen that he retains some base characteristics of Ten (catchphrases, speech patterns, etc.). From a marketing perspective, he needs to be like the Tenth Doctor at least a little, because that's exactly what audiences being drawn back by the prospect of Tennant want to see. But it's also been thousands of years since the Doctor was last this person--it makes sense that his outlook on life might be slightly different with age/additional experiences. Even the promotional images we've been getting of him give the sense of someone more mature and less action hero-y than Ten was. I'm not saying he'll be a completely different incarnation like some people were hoping, because I just find that hard to believe. But I do think it will be a "best of both worlds" situation, where Fourteen is essentially a hybrid of new and old things (and is very thrown off by this).
If you count the years the twelfth Doctor was stuck in that time loop, he's got millions of years on his odometer. At the very least, the doctor has millions of years worth of experience
From Gatwa's scene from the trailer, it definitely looks like the 15th Doctor was supposed to be the one to follow after 13 and is now wanting to know what this didn't happen. I think he might, perhaps, also be angry/annoyed that a past Doctor interferred with his regeneration or that a past Doctor jumped in when it happened.
Somehow, I'm also think about Jodie's last line: "Tag, you're it," which to me seemed to apply that she was with the Guardians at the Edge and picked one of their old faces to be back again.
Yes, I know her era just ended, but considering the regeneration and it seemingly not having gone right, it seems likely to me that Jodie, in some form, might also be involved in the 60th.
Calling it now... Tennant will return in the 70th anniversary as the 20th Doctor
Hope so
No that would be too greedy.
I hate love that idea
And will do a crossover with the 2 other versions of himself
Who knows Matt might do it
I think having Tennant back is pointless if you have him be completely new but it's narratively bad and doesn't make sense if you have him identical to 10. What probably will happen and what should happen is 14 has an inner conflict from having both the personality of 10 and the experiences and character change of 11, 12 and 13.
Tennet and the doctor before him are the only ones in the modern Doctor Who that I liked watching. Glad to see him back.
I like Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi more, different strokes for different folks...
@@qcsrevival As rating wise, Tennant is the GOAT.
Cringe.
that's how I feel
I'm guessing The Fourteenth Doctor might absorb the energy of The Meta - Criss from Donna Noble which does eventually cause him to regenerate a bit similar to how The Ninth Doctor absorbed The energy of The time vortex out of Rose Tyler which did cause The Regeneration in the first place.
I'm confused why the 9th docto regenerated but rose didn't die, he had it for less as long than rose did.
@@sothisishowusernameswork.2043 It's possible that he was able to transfer some of the initial regeneration energy into Rose to save her life as he absorbed the time vortex; could explain why Ten was so unstable at first, & even why he was so reluctant to "leave" & has cropped-up again, he was in a sense an "incomplete" version of the Doctor.
@@CtrlOptDel So like once he took the energy he controlled it to make it so she wouldn't die just pass out but he does?
Aaaahh the usual cause of regeneration in NuWho. Absorption of some big power source. Lol
What if?
One scene of (one of the 3) 60th Anniversary specials takes place at "The Edge", it's also a flashback scene with 10 stood there arguing with his past selves and they're trying to convince him to cross over, 10 is getting upset about the whole situation until it eventually hard cuts to the moment we've seen (presumably) countless times by now of 10 saying "I don't want to go".
Then the rest of the episodes plot takes place all the while 10 (now 14) is proving why he shouldn't have left and fulfils his destiny/legacy whatever right?
At the end, another "The Edge" scene but this time coming to peace with the fact he has to go, just before seeing Ncuti's 15th Doctor on the other side ready to take his place... hard cut to reality of him saying "I'm ready to go", fitting with point 3 of this video.
I just love that the tenth doctors arc is being concluded with the exact team that bought him to the golden light in the first place Like this is CANON. I’d hate it to have been Moffat or Chinballs to write it cause, as good as Moffat was, he couldn’t write an arc. He was all over the place during his era. Not even going to go into Chibbs. This is real, real good writing Who coming to our screens later on this year guys.
Moffat couldn't write an arc? he literally wrote the best character arc in the show. Twelves character development that spanned three seasons and River Songs. You people are so blinded by RTD nostalgia, its unreal. RTD used to get ripped to shreds for his plot arcs back in the 2000's.
@@jordanfitzgerald7886 saying all this to someone that doesn’t care
Can’t wait for the golden team to write Tennant again 😍😍😍
"I'm ready to go" is the obvious ending, before that has to be The Doctor healing himself with whatever he gets done, Donna Noble is the obvious fix but I hope Amy Pond and Rory are saved too
Amy Pond and Rory are a fixed point now though.
@@daedalus6433 So is Clara's death
@@Unbreakable1986 Yeah, but that was Moffat writing himself into a corner like he usually does.
I still wanna retcon Jodi Whittaker as nothing more than a nightmare during 12s regeneration
Damn Right
Everyone does, well those that wish to preserve Doctor Who.
Jodie would've been fine as the Doctor if she were written by Moffat or RTD.
I hope she comes back with better writers
Interesting analysis. I think it'd be nice if 14's last words were "allons-y!" with excitement but who nose. I think another possibility is that 14 turning into 15 won't be so straightforward. I remember a leak (POSSIBLE SPOILERS) that said that ncuti interacts with tennant and tate while wearing only a shirt and no trousers, just like in the trailer. This was leaked back in august or september, so I'm pretty sure that 14 and 15 will interact in some way. I don't think that ncuti's appearance in the trailer was a post regeneration scene. If the villain is the toymaker, we must remember that with him all types of madness is possible. 14 might not even be solely tennant, but also shapeshift into 11, 12, 13, and maybe even 9 (I don't care if they denied appearing, they have to lie. They would have signed an NDA, like how it was with Rachel Talalay.) I just don't see RTD bringing back only one doctor. At least in my opinion. David Tennant did say that he and Catherine Tate were a small cog in russell's "great machine".
Yes there was a huge glitch at the end of time...and wrongs needed to be righted so they found a way to reset time to its organic flow...... found a way to rewind time without making any further ripples, literally erase any line that ...... Jodie ate the end of time apple. x
Yesterday was Tom Baker’s birthday🎂!
10:15 and thought it was pretty clear it was because he loved being him
I really want his final words this time around to be I'm ready to go or something like that.
One thing I noticed about Doctor Who in the timeless child, the first ever regeneration happened, falling over the edge of a Cliff, and now the regeneration of the Doctor resembles the edge of a cliff and as a right of passage for the next incarnation of the Doctor, other Time Lords regeneration’s could symbolically represent their first ever regeneration’s for instance Tictau’s first regeneration was in the laboratory, so every time she regenerates, a laboratory could be her right of passage for her next incarnation and so forth with the other Time Lords…??
As he was regenerating the last time, the 10th doctor said "I could do so much more... SO MUCH MORE!!" so my theory- simple as it may seem- is, this is his chance
You know what I just noticed? There are 15 "junction" boxes in the telephone pole at The Edge. 7 for the classics, 1 for Paul McGann, 1for Hurt, 1 for Eccleston, 2 For Tennant (vanity issues), 1 for Smith, 1 for Capaldi, 1 for Whittaker makes 15. Now, if it turns out Ruth is truly Canon, we can subtract the extra for Tennant, but maybe not, maybe not.... either way... there aren't hundreds of them, so maybe there's no timeless child after all...
tennants character goes from "I dont want to go" to "Screw you guys Im going home".
Great video! I’ve predicted the same last words on my Instagram. It just feels right. It can’t be anything else. Time will tell!
I’m wondering, if the edge looked that way, as it was a forced regeneration. I’m hoping, it’s a beach with waves, when it’s an accepted regeneration.
Ooh I like that, I hope if we see it in the future that for every regeneration it's different. Maybe it's a river leading to a waterfall. Maybe it's a path into a dense forest. Maybe it's simply a vast salt desert where the incarnation simply walks into the distance. Who knows!
Just one question, Why was the channel’s name changed and what happened to the retro reviews!? I loved🥰watching those!
The Curator did say that he'd want to revisit a few favorite faces again.
I still think the David Tennant 14th Doctor is a Red Herring.
I don't know exactly how it will happen or what everything means, but I think we may get the Valeyard here. I think that somewhere, somehow, Jodi's Doctor regenerated into Ncuti's Doctor and Tennant's at the same time.
It just, to me, would be so much more interesting than "Hey we want to artificially boost ratings by bringing back the 10th Doctor again even if it's just for one serial."
It's already the 60th anniversary, they could have brought Tennant back AS the 10th Doctor without having Jodi regenerate into him. To me, bringing him back as the 14th Doctor and then having him immediately regenerate into the 15th would just be an uninteresting, lazy, excuse to try to boost ratings. And it would be disrespectful to Ncuti to be like "You aren't good enough so we're gonna Jump the Shark and bring back someone the fans actually like."
I feel like there just has to be more than something that cheap. So I hope, because it makes sense even if I don't know the exact specifics of how they will do it, that they finally have that corruption during a regeneration (heck The Master was just inside The Doctor's body) and we get The Doctor and The Valeyard from the same regeneration. It would also mean we get a Tennant as a bad guy Arc.
Before the leaks and the actual special, I thought that tennant's appearance in the 60th was an evil alternate universe doctor that chose not to regenerate and that it would be up to our doctors: 11,12, and 13 to defeat him (I also kept hoping that Jodie would make it in the 60th somehow, still possible tho). I really like your theory!
I feel
Valyard vibes as well. And I’d love to see Tenant play the Valyard. He’s got the conceit to want to live on, the barely controlled anger at times. One bad day from giving into the evil like his best friend the Master and becoming the Valyard.
if your theory is correct as to why 14 has Tennant's face I wish that Sean Pertwee was taking up his dads role of 3 and he said he would only do it in special circumstances as these 60th specials in my view would be it
We got Galifrey back, what if the Doctor-Donna prophesy is the repopulation of Galifrey with yes the survivors of the original Time-Lords (The Doctor, The Master, Toymaker, Rassilon, maybe The Monk or Rani, maybe Susan and Romana) and creating a new Time-Lord species maybe a better Time-Lord species not bound by non-interference but Inspired by The Doctors heroism and these characters I mentioned become the new founding fathers of Galifrey finishing the arc Moffatt tried to start with Day Of The Doctor
Idiot
I'm hoping it is something unexpected yet that we haven't theorised! I like this explanation. Good video!
Two years later: Not exactly what you were expecting ...
What if ever since 10 had to erase Donna's memories, the Doctor has been subconsciously finding a solution to restore her memories without her dying? Since we know old faces can be revisited (via the Curator), maybe the Doctor subconsciously chose that face because they felt it appropriate to restore Donna's memories.
These are worthwhile speculations and do seem consistent with 10th and events in his story.
Other posters have suggested the 14th is not entirely 10th and that we could see Ncuti popping in and out. Like Regeneration hasn't finished yet and Ncuti is the 14th.
This idea popped into my head a couple days ago and, with that, I've re-watched the trailer and regeneration scene with a new lens. I can't see RTD re-hashing the 10th Doctor's personality if there wasn't a larger point to it, the 10th Doctor's final scene is one that is very controversial within the fanbase and a story like the one you've described would be a way to appease everyone: People who grew up with Tennant, as their Doctor, get to see their hero one more time, in a new and exciting way, while those who disliked Tennant's Doctor get an arc that addresses that vanity. None of us knows *exactly* what's going on, with the 60th, but I'm for one really excited to find out and, no matter what, it will have a place in the show's history for years to come.
This answer to this question has been addressed by David himself. He called a in-between doctor for 3 episode then. The new doctor will take over. Also if you know doctor who since 1963. The doctors like to revisit some of the old favs
Mainly, it is a publicity stunt to get more viewers. Jodie Whatever's Doctor will still be cannon. What was done to the Time Lords will still be canon. They could have easily destroyed that canon, by making it a nightmare from the Dream Lord when Capaldi was knocked out in the Time Machine, during his end.
Wait! what if the 15th doctor doesn’t want to become the doctor! Think about it would you want to step into the shoes of a long lived haunted near immortal? So somehow it brings back an old face as a short of buffer until the next regeneration accepts to become the next doctor.
This is kinda interesting because you will have a doctor who doesn’t want to go and the next doctor not wanting to even ‘enter’.
I think he returned for give a happy ending to Donna also for take back the audience of course xD
Continuing on the comment I had on ur other video, the 10th doctor's regeneration was also glitched when David Tennant was first brought on.

I don’t see why the image we see of the new doctor can’t be a flashback in the metaphorical place when Jodie witicker regenerates! Your theory works! David Tenent could meet here there and fight for control of the new body, and then give up when the time is right. Or maybe the new doctor is stuck there or something.
"One Will Die!" Perhaps he needs to recover the Meta-Crisis regeneration energy traped inside Dona that will be released when she dies. Yay return of the Santa Robots, lol.
David is back!!! I don't care how or why. I'm thrilled to see him back.
I always thought that the reason the 10th Doctor didn't want to go is simply do to a fear of death or a fear of the unknown. He enjoys life, never stops moving and every time he sees death first hand its brings him down to earth about an inevitable outcome
I think the clip of the 15th Doctor could be him trapped next to the edge like 13 was.
Haven’t we already seen the 10th refuse to go over the edge--it was in Journey’s End where he refused to regenerate, and decided to come back to see Rose.
So him coming back again now isn’t far fetched as it seems. Just means he’s been at the edge for quite some time. We will hopefully find out why he chose or was forced to come back now.
My theory is that there will be a return of the doctor victorious and also during the 60th specials he will change into the new doctor and back various times before finally regenerating into the 15th doctor
An altered, ragefull variant of Valeyard. I think it can be good idea, if they write it properly.
I'd like it if he was like the Tenth Doctor but with small treats for 11, 12, and 13 mixed in. Like I think it would be funny if he called the Nobles Fam.
No fam thank you.
please god no
no.
Oh my god yes please
Steven Moffat literally set this possibility up at the end of The Day of the Doctor with the revelation that the Doctor would someday in the future reuse some old faces because he simply wanted to … and The Girl Who Died set up the fact that Doctor can subconsciously control his/her regeneration (hence choosing the face of the man he saved in Fires of Pompeii for the 12th Doctor’s face). It’s really not hard to figure out how the 14th Doctor has the 10th Doctor’s face. How some people are having a hard time with this boggles my mind
Maybe some where deep in the Doctor's consciousness he sensed the impending danger heading for Donna and it somehow forced a regeneration of a new Doctor but with the imprint of the 10th. We all know the Doctor would never leave a companion in danger but especially Donna. Just about all of the Doctor's companions have gone on epic adventures with the Doctor. But by the end, be it willing or not, they all seem to make peace with it and move on in one way or another. Except for Donna, most of the companions have either walked away from their adventures, or for one reason or another could no longer travel with the Doctor anymore. No matter how bitter sweet, they could at least carry on with their lives, often remembering their time with the Doctor fondly from time to time. Donna seems to be the exception. Unlike her counterparts., she never believed in her self, she always saw herself as insignificant, unworthy, even though she ended up playing such an important part in the Doctor's story. To the point that she almost equalled the importance of the Doctor, in a way the companions never managed to match. Of course, this isn't to say the other companions weren't important, on the contrary, they were just as vital but they were exactly just that, companions. Donna's character broke that mould, she more or less became his partner and the most important woman in the world for a brief time. And yet, heartbreakingly, while she can never remember, the Doctor can never forget. I don't think the Doctor ever felt that his and Donna's story had concluded on terms he could make peace with. Also in the episode of Matt Smith's regeneration to Peter Capaldi's iteration of the Doctor, I felt surprised at why the the Doctor would take the form of someone he almost walked away from but eventually saved because of Donna? Which is even reflected upon by the doctor himself, when he shown to be really distressed and confused after the initial regeneration and he says "why this face" and then he says " i know this face". We later realise this, face serves as a powerful reminder of lessons that should never be forgotten. I must admit, that I still wonder what was responsible in determining the form the Doctor's would take. I could be wrong but I think one of the Doctor's mentions in some episode that they have no control over how they will look after the regeneration. So who or what decides if not the Doctor's? Whatever is responsible for that decision must care for the Doctor's mental and emotional well being, to the point that an iteration of the Doctor is able to take form of another to remember and or retain something of great importance. This could be a similar instance, where the 10th Doctor's iteration is vitally required for situation that only this particular Doctor can deal with and bring to an end unresolved issues. Sorry for how long this got. Liked your video, thank you.
Was also hoping that he would be sticking around and that Donna was going regenerate particularly with the "15th's" line in the trailer sounding like Donna more than the Doctor
The tenth didn’t want to go because he was alone. The 14th was ready to go because he was surrounded by people he loved.
I have faith Martha Jones will at least make a cameo appearance in 1 of the 3 specials! #DoctorWho #🟦 #MarthaJones
I think it would make sense that the 14th Doctor is the 10th doctor’s echo finishing up unfinished business, meaning that why the 14th doctor is in the 10th doctor’s body is because a part of the 10th wasn’t ready to go. It makes sense as to why the 14th is so similar to the 10th, but I theorize that this may be one version of the 14th Doctor, because of the forced regeneration, it triggered a reaction to reverting to a face familiar for some kind of comfort thus technically the 10th returned but like reincarnation when you return back to a living body you lose your memories of who you once were, now if the Doctor regenerates again with a new face it will be the actual 14th Doctor but will go by the 15th Doctor, just like how the actual 9th Doctor was nicknamed the War Doctor…it’s all Timey-Whimey!
I think that it's all to do with the toymaker, It has to be, I don't think a time lords mind can make remake a costume out of thin air
The Doctor with a snobby Scottish accent would be funny, and all his companions could have totally incomprehensible accents (more than the last season).
I feel like its important to remember that RTD lost his husband in 2018 so I really do think this Doctor's story may have heavy themes of grief and accepting death possibly
Wait a minute, in Journeys End, Dalek Caan I think that was his name said it wasn’t destiny that brought the Doctor Donna together, it was him! I hope that’s explained in the 60th
What needs an explanation ! Cann brought them together so Donna could kill them you melt
Personally, I think when Dalek Caan told the Doctor that one of the “Children of the Doctor” would die in the future, he was referring to Rory because lord knows he died a lot
Very true 😂
Very true 😂
Very true 😂
He is revisiting a few of his previous faces. But just the old favorites.
I like the idea that Steven moffat gave to us in the day of the doctor that one day the Doc will be able to choose a face, I like the idea that he picks his 10th face probs after the events of the day of the doctor.
First of all 13 did not go quietly into the good night we see that in the episode where he's trying to avoid regeneration it's literally the Christmas episode where he meets the first doctor there is no edge she just doesn't want to regenerate he's tired he's Fed up lost too many people he cares about why does he have to remain around while everyone he cares about dies everyone he loves dies but he's never allowed to die he has to keep coming back and keep coming back... And you see that it's only one facing the first actually meeting the bill look-alike among others that he comes to terms with the fact that he doesn't really have a choice that one of the first ones reason for going out there in the first place for going away from gallifrey for leading this vagabond life was to find out it is the Good should will out when there is so much evil and darkness in the the world and it is 13 who comes to the realization, we're talking about Peter capaldi doctor, he's the oldest of all the doctors when you think about it but you realize that he comes to the conclusion in a way he's answered that question the question that made him go out there in the first place supposedly first doctor's question... And in a way he's found out he is the answer, however I personally think that there's more to the story than we ever get told we know that he didn't originate on gallifrey tell a story somewhere in the future that does tell that story of how he came together for in the first place might explain the drive to quote the thirteenth doctor to be courageous, be kind, etc etc.
Nobody reading that nicca
I have been watching Doctor Who since Series 1 Episode 1
with what the doctor has been through since there should be some impact from that. i dont think rtd would NOT have some plan to continue his arc. however, it looks to me like this regeneration is unstable and will be cuti at some point during the specials not just at the end.
i feel like there is a complete wash over of the fact 10 faced the edge twice. this is technically the third time 10 had had control of the doctor's body. lets not forget the aborted regeneration into the hand.
Rip this channel
It would be an interesting twist on regeneration if you couldn't move on unless you had closure. A very relevent topic for our time.
I think the Toymaker is responsible for the 14th Doctor looking like the 10th.
As much as i love seeing david tennant back, a continuation would only ruin the finality of the tenth doctor. He does not need redemption, his story does not need “fixing”
Having this be a happy hopeful resolution to 10 would only diminish the culmination of his arc and ruin the tragedy of his departure.
In recent years it seems like we can’t have tragedy and consequences for anything anymore. Especially in moffats era where characters kept dying and coming back, rendering death meaningless and pointless.
Perhaps this won’t be what i think it is, but i hope I’m wrong.
I also seriously hope they don’t undo everything with donna, it would render her stories ending meaningless, and the impacts of her tragedy would be lessened.
I'm shocked you haven't moved your series of The Story of on Spotify as its something i like to listen to
I can't wait for David Tennant to be back. I hope the episodes are just as dark and as gritty as before.
I miss that era of Doctor who so damn bad.
I'm calling it matt smith will be the 16th Doctor and and Steven moffat will be show runner for the 70th anniversary 😂
Matt Smith mayby but not 16 maybe 17 or 18
I will not be surprised if the entire plot revolves about he not wanting to go the first time was because he wanted to come out of the closet, in this second chance he does, he is ready to go and the 15th it is "a more true sincere version of everything 10/14 always aspired to be" and what pushed him out of the closet was the experience of being a woman. The scriptwriters in this generation are incapable of dealing with any theme other than the older generations being disposed of or confessing they always wanted to be like the new one.
Placeholder before final form chosen. Established by Romanna in the 1970s Dr Who they can try different appearances, reaffirmed by Matt Smith era where he place holdered his youthful face before regenerating into Capaldi.
Tenant's returning to save the series from destruction after so much post modern fanaticism. You don't talk about that due to a thick yellow streak down your back.
I award you the Order of Sir Cowardy Custard.
Just unsibcribed.
In the fiftieth in the museum the caretaker said he would revisit a few old faces
I think it will turn out to be a reincarnation glitch that I’ll glitch temporarily into other doctors, and he will have to race to undo the glitch before it destroys him, ultimately allowing him to successfully reincarnate into Ncuti.
For me now I'd just watch new who right from the start with Christopher eccleston up until the waters of mars episode which was bringing the end of David Tennants doctor and stop there and wait for the 60th anniversary episodes.
What about The End of Time?
@@UltimateKyuubiFox doesn't count anymore now that David Tennant is getting another final episode end regeneration story.
@@UltimateKyuubiFox then i hope the doctor will regenerate into matt Smith and Peter capaldi again someday.
@@salliewagenblatt5188 … But he literally is gonna see Wilf again, who he last saw in the End of Time.
@@UltimateKyuubiFox but he knew him before then.
This has got to be the bag guy f-n with the regen process
David has been in every anniversary since the 40th
sorry if you adress this later in the video, want to type it out before I forget.
But what if the 10th doctor lingering in the edge is why the 12th got that face, or heck why any of the faces from 11-14 were chosen? They might all have been signals to the doctor that something was up. 11 needed to focus on river so he needed to stay young and slightly open to romance, 12 obviously was going to be scared and lashing out, so he needed a reminder to be kind and bend the rules to help people, and 13, well, she got comfortable with people again, her tardis was the most crowded since post meta-crisis 10s. With those insecurities sorted, the last face needed to sort out things very personal to 10, so now its time for him to return.
It's also possible this isn't the first time regenerations were chosen by people who lingered on the edge, the 1st, 2nd, and 6th doctors all had faces that existed somewhere out in the world already, its possible some of those faces were chosen with particular purpose as well. The second and sixth doctors had the faces of villains, and that may have been to remind them how easily they could slip off the edge, and the first doctor sharing a face with a human is very much a humbling message for the doctor that needed to LEARN to be more human, more compassionate than the time lords.
Wait had he been confirmed as 14? I thought he was going to be like War or the Metacrisis Doctor where they aren't really numbered but are accepted as part of the line up. I've been calling him 10×2 this whole time.
Yea. RTD called him the Fourteenth Doctor and called Ncuti the Fifteenth Doctor. Also various media are calling him the 14th Doctor. Like his skin in Fall Guys lol.
Haha I said this on Reddit "I'm ready to go"!
I feel that the Doctor's "daughter" is an unresolved storyline.
He had so many things to regret in the end especially after his tantrum when he felt that no rules applied to him and he could do whatever he wanted. That went so far against his character and morals he became angry if not enraged.
Is Ncuti Gatwa still confirmed to play the 14th Doctor in a later series or will he play the 15th??
If they make the Tenth Doctor into a hiccup that will suck
I don't think that will happen. This feels more like ten had unfinished business and returned to finish it and help Donna. The TARDIS knows future events so may have given a nudge to his Regen into as well.
The whole thing is within the mind and a sort of dream sequence.
It was he and Rose,s separation for ever., just before the hologram finished he tried a out to ask Rose to Marry him.
Remember The Day Of The Doctor? Tom Baker "you might find yourself revisiting a few old faces, but just the old favourites eh?" Also "Who knows?.. Who knows?

I think Neil Patrick Harris' character has something to do with it. If he is the toymaker, he might have done it to throw the Doctor off so that he isn't completely prepared to beat him so easily this time.
I disagree I think the numbers are very important as it helps to establish which Doctor is which. The whole numbering was consistent until Moffat screwed the whole thing up. He's just the Fourteenth Doctor its what he is.
One day everyone's going to agree "the doctor is dead". There is nothing that will bring my viewership back to this franchise, even a bait switch with my favorite doctor will not move my position.
Nah, I reckon the librarian was actually the Dr who regenerated back into 4 many many years in the future and thats why he knew it was possible to regenerate into the same face
Could it be as simple as there's a bit of the doctor left behind in Donna and he needs to get it back to be whole again?
I was gonna say that the "15th" doctor is the 14th doctor. They're the same, the David Tennant one is just under some sort of morph or visual glitch done by the Toymaker to toy with the Doctor. I refuse to believe that an entire incarnation was wasted in three episodes
I for one welcome this change.
8:40 Well, considering The Doctor is going to be Ncuti in the next series, the Doctor Donna prophecy is at least going to cost him his life...
