  • Tune in for a gym-worthy leg workout that can easily be done at home: the deadlift. Here I discuss how to how to deadlift using resistance bands for results while minimizing injury. Don't get frustrated, the deadlift technique often takes time to master (as well as teach). With a little patience and persistence most anyone can deadlift, a very fundamental movement that's commonplace in daily life. Whether you're picking up a suitcase or a child off the floor, a nurse transferring a patient, or even lifting a mattress to tuck in the bed sheets, we all deadlift...some of us just do it much better than others. Here I show a few simple strategies such as how to hip hinge which is an essential component of the deadlift. Finally, I also show how to incorporate single leg deadlifting with bands, a potent alternative for those who are more advanced or looking to even out a strength imbalance. So whether it's leg day or back day, the deadlift can be a great staple for anyone looking to get strong as well as those looking to stay that way.     Appreciate the video and hope it gets lots of people deadlifting at home. But its impossible to use a heavy enough band without some grip support. You will need at the minimum gloves but will need straps or ideally Clench fitness makes band handle which will work.

      Yes it's not a perfect substitute, and doing heavy singles with a band isn't the same feel as pulling a barbell with several hundred pounds. Just trying to show that you can still get pretty strong at home/with the right bands and that they can be a nice addition.

      yes one of the drawbacks is that if the band isn't thick enough it can dig into your palms a bit. If you look back at the first video on this channel I show how you can add a Fat Grip to make it more comfortable on your hand and challenge your grip (if the band is thin enough). Since that was over a year ago now there are other manufactures that also make adaptive grips/handles for bands
