What is your biggest challenge when working out your legs with Resistance Bands?
I have a footplate system and i find that i work out legs way more often than inever did with weights. Its just more convenient. Maybe weights for the legs can be more effective. But the risk is still there and the time commitment and setup makes me skip. With bands theres no excuse
Dave great video! I would love to see the footplate and how it works thanks
Another Vote 👍🏾
The plate can be used for more than just leg exersises. You can use it for curls, tricep extentions, etc.
I've thought about buying it myself, so I vote for the review
another vote 👍🏾
Great video, I would love to see you do a review for the foot plate from clench.
Another Vote 👍🏾
yes do a review of the Clench foot plate! I knew you would become a clench fane. Get their green and blue high resistance bands...they are awesome Dave!
Yea it took me a while but I got there 😊
Great video Dave. Would definitely be interested in seeing a review of the footplate.
Well we got 1 vote
I just recently purchased the Coba glute trainer and plan to modify it into a foot plate to use with my tube and loop bands. I purchased those clench handles but they felt awkward without a foot plate...but honestly it's so simple to build I have a rough time justifying the cost of most footplates. That's what made me select the Coba board, because even after the modifications I intend on making, there are tons of other exercises that I can use...
Thanks for your feedback. This is why I want to do the review of the footplate because I want to know the benefits over making your own.
@@DisciplineDave Absolutely. I am looking forward to the review. Generally speaking, if you have the time (30 minutes to an hour) AND the tools...it's simple to make...like reeeally simple. But not everyone is mechanically inclined or has the time, energy or desire to DIY...but honestly it's really, really simple to make a product comparable to the clench plate using a polyurethane or bamboo cutting board and hockey pucks. If you have the tool you can use a router to add slots similar to the clinch plate as well as attachments for your loop bands. The end result is a product you can use with both your loop and flat bands. Thanks for the engagement! Looking forward to more of you content.
Do you have a good deadlift video for form? Can you compare it to a deadlift with weights? I saw your form on the deadlift in this video and it looks a little like a squat. What form adjustments helps to target the hamstrings versus the quads? Thanks!
The deadlift isn't done "only with you're legs" its done with the posterior chain
For squats and deadlifts I use the Clench fitness plate with the U shaped handles as it makes it easier on my feet, hands and shoulders when using bigger loop bands. You should definitely review their plate as it’s phenomenal.
Coming from you means I got to do a review on it!
@@DisciplineDave I've seen people make a plate like this with a 1" industrial plastic cutting board and they'd screw hockey pucks underneath for that gap.
Great video Dave thank you
You welcome my friend
I made a footplate for loop bands which is great for legs, curls and overheadpress. No gym membership and easy storage for small quarters.
A foot plate is to resistance bands what a squat rack is to traditional weights. 👌
Nice analogy
Could you explain what you mean exactly, Miguel? Thank you!!
@@rustyyoung7980 I mean that one can push themselves closer to failure in the same way, if I only have a barbell and 500 lbs but no squat rack I still am limited to how much I can potentially push safely until a squat rack is introduced. With bands that can go up to several hundred pounds of force one absolutely needs a platform to regulate the resistance profile as well as minimize discomfort of just using the band by itself so it allows you to push harder and proceed closer to failure.
Great video, don’t forget holding the band over head will add resistance and help keep proper posture when squatting.I use a bar and loop bands and “the step” off of Amazon for the deadlifts. The clench base looks interesting.
👍🏾
I had bought the x3 system years ago so I have a footplate already and it makes deadlifts and squats harder and more effective than just standing on it with the feet
Sweet 👍🏾
Thank you
You welcome
Great review Dave. I could not find the foot plate in the site. Can you provide the link. Thanks

For squats and deadlifts, I use the X-3 Bar. Amazing.
I've heard good things
Hi Dave! Putting out quality I always appreciate your insight, I came across serious steel 20 in bands that are sold in pairs they work really well with plenty of tension from the bottom and since theyre thinner its more easy to stack em. You should try em out!
Thank you. I might try them
Mr. Dave I know this is off topic with regards to this video, however I wanted to get your opinion on a possible video topic. I'm always leary of using my doors and door frames as anchor points. In the future would you consider discussing the feasibility of using home power racks(like Hulk Fit) like they sell on Amazon for soley anchor points. I bring up the Hulk Fit because it's the cheapest on Amazon and you can add weights to stabilize it. I use bands exclusively(Undersun/bodylastics) and I thought it would be a a good solution for people who have reservations regarding attaching to their doors.
check out Bodylastics workout videos. They have the best squat variation for tube bands. using 2 low anchors and facing the door.
👍🏾
Awww thanks so much!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Love your sneakers 👟 👍🏽
Dave out of curiosity i clicked the link for your meal plan but I get everything else but the mean plan sent to my email on a weekly basis.
👉👉💪💪thanks Dave👍👍✌✌
You welcome
If u do squats using resistance bands can u loose weight
Yes you can
@@DisciplineDave how many sets should I do
I do deadlifts with tube bands and the door anchor under the door…
Cool 👍🏾

Thanks for this video. Yes, it would be great to see you test the Clench foot plate.
I haven’t got such a foot plate so far, and I guess it would improve both exercises. With no foot plate, I am sorry to say that I find these exercises very bad with bands, at least for someone like me with naturally strong legs : I just cannot have interesting tension for a full range of motion (either the initial resistance is too low, which makes squats and deadlifts so boring, or full range of motion happens to be impossible because the tension becomes too high during the second part of the concentric phase). I could do partial reps, sure, but I hate that, especially with traditional squats, that already have a short range of motion, compared to sissy squats - I do partials only after failure.
I prefer doing “cable” squats (with bands) as a warm-up, and then sissy squats (with and without bands), Spanish squats and leg extensions. For the hamstrings, banded leg curls and standing hip extensions with stiff leg in unilateral.
Thanks for sharing
I ended up making my own foot plate with H1 anchors.

cool
every exercise here looks like a squat
Dave,
Why are you deadlifting with your legs so close together? Lol. It looks really awkward, no?
