I really recommend trying again. This was my first Souls game. I’m not nearly as good at games as I used to be. I got the Platinum trophy on PS5 in 70 hours. I don’t have a lot of time to play games, so I used a build guide to start off my character, and then I adjusted it to what I was enjoying doing from there. This helped me a TON! I started off with a plan, and I literally started the game by running to the weapon locations, and rune farming for a bit. I took out the first few main bosses without dying once. Don’t get me wrong. There are some sections that suck later on (Farum Azula, Leyndell, rot tree place, and THE FREAKING STUPID LITURGICAL TOWN), and some bosses that will wreck you (Radhan, Fire Giant, Hora Loux, final boss, and……Malenia🥲. However, even though I had a lot of frustration certain times when playing the game, I’m really glad I did. I finished it, and all I wanted to do was get the Platinum trophy. You can summon a spirit clone of yourself, which helps out a LOT. Also, you can request co-op help from random people to beat a really hard area, but I only had to use that feature once, on the last optional boss, Malenia. It’s easy to grind to get stronger if you’re struggling, and there are a lot of resources online to help you finish the game. Seriously, if you decide to ho back and need any help at all, just respond to this message, and I’ll give you some advice. I was a total noob, but if you come at fights the right way, most can become easy. My wife has having a lot of issues, and I helped her rune farm a little, and get a better weapon, and she started beating bosses, and honestly, she’s not very good at video games. DON’T GIVE UP! YOU’VE GOT THIS!
I guess I'll never understand why a game company would make a game so difficult. The rumors on how much of a pain it is made me not want to play it at all. It looks amazing though.

You can make 1 shot builds for the game and master the enemy movements and combat behaviors. The best part is when you actually beat a boss and the satisfying feeling.
So far, I have found that where Elden Ring differs from most RPGs (aside from a nearly non existent plot) is that in Elden Ring it is a game of broken game mechanics and almost never is there actual combat. It’s basically suicide to engage a boss directly where you are often dead in one or two hits due to the insane difficulty. Most bosses you just poison, lure off a cliff, find somewhere to camp they cannot hit you and use a bow etc. I really would not describe it as difficult as that would imply some level of skill is relevant. It’s more about knowledge of how to break the game to bypass each stage. Elden Ring boss fights are like beta testing an RPG. Seeing where the game can be broken.

It's certainly not an /easy/ game, however you are right about there being many ways to make it become easier. The problem most will face is that even doing that is not exactly "easy". I'm on ng+5 with 700+ hours, lvl 357. It took a lot of time and effort to become really powerful. Even now, I still randomly get killed and lose 500k or even a million runes 😅. To accumulate the best spells and gear for a mage, I first had to focus on sword mastery because the really good mage stuff was simply out of reach. Now I swap between the two, depending on the types of enemies. In any case, it's really an incredible game, and as someone who has been playing all kinds of games since 1993 or so - this is one of the best of it's kind, ever.
Hi. Nice video but I think it's too early to say that the game has an easy mode given that you didn't get to the late game bosses yet. Without getting into spoilers, late game bosses are way harder than the earlier ones. We might think that this can be solved by levelling up more our characters but we shouldn't forget that if we have already farmed too much to beat early game bosses, then our characters would eventually hit the levelling cap (stating from about level 100, levelling does not help that much). In my opinion, it's very important for new players to know that beating this game is definitely way more difficult than beating something like Assassins Creed, Resident Evil, etc.
This is very true. I was a faith melee/incantation build. I was doing great throughout the game. I didn’t even start using my spirit ashes until pretty late. The final boss WRECKED me. 😂 Had to respec because faith did nothing.

I think the game is objectively difficult, because I have a slightly different take on what difficult means. Maybe it's the easiest game from FromSoftware, but that doesn't say much. Sure, it's easy once you learn it, and once you put a ton of effort into it. But what isn't? Everything is easy once you have learned it. So, it's still inevitable to beat the game without putting lots of time and effort into it, and that alone is (to me) the definition of difficult. I spent a few hours into Elden Ring myself, but had to turn to google to get answers to what was worth spending time on. I went one way, met a difficult enemy and thought "nope, I'll go another way". After repeating that several times, I had nowhere else to go. After learning what was worth engaging, I made some progress. But having to repeatedly grind my way forward like that is just tedious. Where is the fun?
Even though people are saying it's one of the best games of all time, I really just don't want to spend a bunch of money to die a thousand times and get nowhere. I played a little bit of demon souls since its free on ps plus and I just don't see the allure. I'm at the second boss where you have to go through a gauntlet of dragons and the blue guys with the spears, and by the time you finally get to the boss, you are basically out of life and/or healing herbs and you get one shot by the boss. This is where it is unfair. The more you die the harder it is. I was at a point where I went through all my consumables including picking up some from bodies which of course they don't respawn, and now I have to go through the gauntlet and the boss with nothing. I couldn't do it with dozens of healing herbs, I don't understand how they expect me to do it with nothing. I was just running the same gauntlet over and over again and was lucky to stay alive up to the boss so they can one shot me. This is when and why I swore off souls games. I don't want to spend a bunch of money to put in countless hours of work for one encounter. Maybe Elden Ring is easier because of the less linear approach which allows for workarounds but I'm still not going to touch another souls game unless it's dirt cheap or free.
They should have an easy mode without any achievements for people that just want to explore the world and enjoy the game. People that play real difficulty should get recognition or something that casuals don't
I'm of the opinion on this subject, it's a tough game for me to play but I am getting better. It is a big learning curve for me. I don't want to play elden ring and all the games from this series simply because I don't like dying in games. I have a limited time to play and if I spend half of it dying or having to learn every enemies attack pattern, I'm just not playing. It's not fun. I would love to explore the world and enjoy it. Don't need to be better then someone else
There's no shame in cheesing the game .. I myself have been doing the rune farm 100k at a time to level up my stats ashes and weapons .. I've already defeated the gold sentinel at the beginning the rat boss in the wolf cave .. I even had a boss fight that looked like an enemy player kind of reminded me of hunters from the division
@@DaGamerDadI was literally worse fighting Malenia with my mimic ash, because he was just healing her by just standing there. 😂 He seriously wouldn’t dodge at all, so she would get all her health back.
I spend hours farming runes to level up my stats because the bosses are way to difficult for me. Once I lose to a boss a few times I start Farming runes so I can raise my stats
Elden Ring can be the most accessible or most punishing souls title, dependent on how players approach it. If you run into a difficulty wall, there are plenty of weapons, spells, upgrades etc to find in the open world. Do that, get stronger, come back and overcome the challenge. Or ... you know ... you can keep banging your head against the wall endlessly!
You're just stating the obvious here's the problem tho...GRINDING IS BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't wanna spend hours farming at that point it's no longer a game it's a chore
Welcome to hardcore aspects of rpgs. this is why most players avoid them or delve in wholeheartedly. Its hard to engage these games on a surface level. The alternative is to spend similar amounts of time learning the boss and game mechanics and overcoming the difficulty with pure skill and brute force. Either way, you are investing time.
I can see why so many people have trouble with this game. Because you need to actually take your time and read things. So I can see why a lot of people suck at it!!!! Learning the game is one of the most fun parts of it to me.
This is the most amazing Souls game ever. BAR NONE! The developers have made a world that scales with your character! You can tell based on how many runes you collect from enemies. I noticed the moment I went further north or south from Limgrave! As for accessibility, it is a shame that some folks won't be able to play, and hopefully FromSoftware helps change that. As for the "Easy" part, I would have to say that yes, it is EARLY on, but once you get to a certain point in the game, if you haven't really haven't "Git Gud" regardless of how much farming, grinding, leveling, etc, "Easy will be the furthest thing from your mind! 10/10 absolutely amazing!
i love the design of making it easier for you by exploring and getting more powerful.. that being said this game intimidates me to even start.. dark souls 3 traumatized me, im definately going to gear the hell up first
In think 90% of the issue with games these days is that people don't know if they're gonna like the game before they play it themselves.. yeah they can watch a video but nothing beats demos, we dont have Block Buster any more, RedBox doesn't have new games for a year after release, if ever. And American studios don't usually release a demo because they love money more than the player!
There are too many souls like games and not enough like dragons dogma or Witcher …that’s the problem they keep making inaccessible games. This game was brutally unfair and leveling up did nothing . I’m level 90 and still get one shotted
Considering that from soft is known for unforgiving games, I don't see them doing an easier game anytime soon. Gotta learn the mechanics and how the AI moves.
If its hard go to level your self up if it is still hard go respec to arcane and holy then get rotten dragonbreath ad using it 1 time kills in time many bosses
Division 2 and Souls games have a lot of similarities when it comes to being a hybrid of personal skill and RPG progression. So you can either progress through gear and stats, or you can increase your personal skill and get by that way as well. However, as you progress further towards the end of the game the skill component becomes much more important. Fortunately Elden Ring does a VERY good job of leading you and teaching you by steps to get better and better. And trust me. You WILL need to get better. Elden Ring may be easy to get into, but the difficulty turns way up by the end.
Yeah bro I cant waste all them hours doing this bro im about to snap this disc and throw it away i bought it a long time ago, level 42, and still cant get anywhere, im done
As a souls veteran here's my opinion, at first elden ring while beautiful is very daunting and confusing. I spent so long aimlessly wandering just to find some enemies and get clapped. I wanted to explore but wasn't getting enough runes from the weak enemies. So I made the journey to caelid, me and my friend did some dungeons to get uchigatana/moonveil and we kept grinding a little bit, then went and explored around and started killing bosses. Elden ring allows you to skip to areas without killing bosses so you can grind pretty fast with the vulgar militia and then comfortably explore as you please. I've just gotten my second character to mohgwyn palace to farm the bird. You don't really need to grind but you can very easily. Edit: I highly recommend including either int or faith, casting also makes the game easier/more fun 😉
@@DaGamerDad bruh, wait until you get to the Siofra River. I'm telling you, that false sense of accomplishment is SO real in this game! I like you, was farming, and leveling, etc, and for a while I felt like I already was the Elden Lord, and then I ran into the green Imps, and realized I wasn't ish!!! Everything that makes this a soul game through and through, is all there in it's punishing splendor! They just wrapped it up in an different package. I hope we get DLC!
My first minutes into the game, and...sorry, if you don't stand a chance at the very first encounter, that's not much of an incentive to continue playing. It's imho bad design, as is having no difficulty settings, since player skills vary greatly. I guess I will come back to it (having already spent the money) and simply walk around that knight guy, but your first encounters should encourage you to go on and not frustrate you enough to quit.
Mhmm... The inverse is true with Fromsoftware. They will flip every known and accepted framework on its head. This is why they make games that stand out. Its western devs that feel the need to encourage gamers. These feel the need to challenge you.
@@DaGamerDad Challenge is good. But there are challenges, and impossible tasks - and what is what depends eg on if you are a 15 year old with ADHD or a 50 year old alkie. Fromsoftware would simply make more money if they would cater to a broader playerbase. That wouldn't even be difficult or time consuming, modders can do it in a day. Rockstar also doesn't do it, and that's bad for the opposite reason: RDR2 is so easy that you don't have much incentive to play it a second time, since you could sleepwalk through it.
I literally don’t understand the appeal of Souls-like games-they’re literally just repetitive grind fests that don’t respect anyone’s time who has a job.
So its too difficult and alot of gamers dont like dying 100 times and spending a day doing one thing... i am one of those gamers. I love the concept of this game, but on top of the constant death, there is basically zero fucking story line. If they wanna cater to a certain type of gamer....... Oh well, thats the way they want it? Their loss, i wont buy their games, there are plenty more out there!
Didn't past Souls games also let you farm the same level(s) you've already cleared until your character gets so powerful that the boss you were stuck on becomes trivial? Seems to me like they just used the open world to make that process more interesting by incorporating more loot and diverse environments rather than farming the same thing over and over again. But I don't see how it's a fundamentally new way to make the game easier which past entries didn't offer.
I have some boss fights you are supposed to reach early in the game. I got to them later on and was able to use some items I died trying to get in more difficult areas.
@@DaGamerDad that's the best part of the game! It gives you this false sense of accomplishment, only to rub it's scrotum across your face when you reach the capital, and get your cheeks clapped by a green baby with a dinner fork.
There is a misconception that all games should be inclusive/ for everyone. There are some hardcore 4x games with 300 page PDF manuals. I'm not going to try to play that because its too intense. Should they water down the experience to a point where the developers vision is compromised. I say no. I'm from the era where everyone didn't get a ribbon. If you didn't come in the top 3 in the potato sack race you went home with nothing😭
EXACTLY! This is the reason why FromSoftware has a lifetime consumer out of me. They have never changed how they did things for the sake of appeasing the masses. I'm so glad that this community (it's not perfect, but it's family!) has embraced what FromSoftware has given us since Demon's Soul's on PS3! #PraiseTheSun #GitGud
Such an ableist comment. There is nothing wrong with inclusivity. The developers vision won't become compromised by catering to various target groups wtf. There are many options to suit various players such as various modes. If you want to play the game as is fine if someone else who wishes to play the game their own way then that's fine too. Literally doesn't take away anything from your personal experience and more smh.
@@siridealone8900 the device explained it themselves that it would in fact, compromise their vision and the experience that they want to convey to their audience. Think about it. The soulsborne community didn't just exist. People sought out the game, got destroyed just like you, me and everyone else. They fought through, learned the mechanics and und3rstood what th3 dev was trying to portray. The game op3ned up dialogue on things like... How do I beat (insert boss here)? What build you use? Sen's fortress is a pain, any ideas? Yo I was sad as he'll about sif (if you know, you know). Just to name a few. People talked, walkthroughs were made and a community was formed. The game is tailor made for one difficulty but has many ways to make it easier (or harder) for th3 player.
I wonder if birds do better than humans... But Difficulty is not Accessibility... Unfortunately, that has been hijacked for "Easy Mode" by those who cannot improve as a human. In the end... People who fail but try, have more merit than people who fail and to never stand back up... Are those "players" even Casuals when this is their excuse? Even Casuals do better. (It speaks volumes about this generation but they are not self aware. A shame but it is as designed by this industry.)

I've already defeated the gold sentinel at the beginning the rat boss in the wolf cave .. I even had a boss fight that looked like an enemy player kind of reminded me of hunters from the division
Cheese is good! Cos the last set of bosses are just unfair.
@@DaGamerDadI was literally worse fighting Malenia with my mimic ash, because he was just healing her by just standing there. 😂
He seriously wouldn’t dodge at all, so she would get all her health back.
@@DaGamerDad Yeah but in other RPGs like the Witcher 3 or Fallout New Vegas you level up by doing quests.
@@TheEnigmaProductions same as assassins creed
If exploring and fighting bosses to get better items and level up is a chore then perhaps rpgs aren’t for you
@@lilfindawg2853Isn't your choice...
I can see why so many people have trouble with this game. Because you need to actually take your time and read things. So I can see why a lot of people suck at it!!!! Learning the game is one of the most fun parts of it to me.
After playing all the souls games, Elden Ring was overwhelming.
10/10 absolutely amazing!
i love the design of making it easier for you by exploring and getting more powerful.. that being said this game intimidates me to even start.. dark souls 3 traumatized me, im definately going to gear the hell up first
Bruh that horse is mad durable lol
For some bosses, yes, but for most, they’ll stop on him once and it’s over!
The NPC in this game cheated me, now I'm here
I suggest using summons I think I made the game to easy for myself
tl;dw: you can grind in side areas and then return to bosses later when you're more powered up
Say that slowly so that it takes 10 minutes
If its hard go to level your self up if it is still hard go respec to arcane and holy then get rotten dragonbreath ad using it 1 time kills in time many bosses
Sorry for mispelling tho magic is way op in this game
Division 2 and Souls games have a lot of similarities when it comes to being a hybrid of personal skill and RPG progression.
So you can either progress through gear and stats, or you can increase your personal skill and get by that way as well.
However, as you progress further towards the end of the game the skill component becomes much more important.
Fortunately Elden Ring does a VERY good job of leading you and teaching you by steps to get better and better.
And trust me. You WILL need to get better. Elden Ring may be easy to get into, but the difficulty turns way up by the end.
You talk about how to play easier, but don't show how. You just talk about it.
Im playing as an astrologer and get destroyed super easy 😅
This game makes me >:(((((((((
Have you been enjoying the game? How far are ya?
I have been. I’ve been running around farming and gaining confidence. My summons are super strong and make me somewhat cheese the game.
Use the rune farming location level up get better gear go back whoop the bosses @$$ easy
Their loss, i wont buy their games, there are plenty more out there!
but I have a life 😏
Didn't past Souls games also let you farm the same level(s) you've already cleared until your character gets so powerful that the boss you were stuck on becomes trivial?
@@DaGamerDad absolutely amazing!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
It's not a Ubisoft game......
But how would an easy mode hurt anybody? Dying all the time is frustrating for some
@@siridealone8900 exactly! Well
Said
@@siridealone8900 the device explained it themselves that it would in fact, compromise their vision and the experience that they want to convey to their audience.
The game doesn’t need a easy mode just run past the enemy’s to get better weapons
Doesn't work always...
Easy mode, don’t play it. Easy.
Just no, Easy.
Man ! This is the best video on Elder Ring on YT ! Thank you . I've never played a Souls game before and I felt that Elden Ring was a very difficult game to play but you've changed my whole perspective on the game . This was very eye opening for me . I appreciate you
