@@DJHeadshotHunter Before complementing Teddy, keep in mind that he reviews watches that he sells as a authorized dealer, which for me represents a conflict of interest.
@@hjander get yours facts straight before spreading false information. Teddy isn't an AD for Sinn. Yes some stuff he reviews, he also does sell, but in this case your comments are false.
It's my one and only watch and I love it. Can definitely recommend too. Maybe think about getting the version with the red seconds pointer though, the 556 I RS.
Let's be honest here : you're making the best videos about watches I've ever seen, I've ever dreamt of, actually. The cinematography is perfect, every single picture is absolutely beautiful, the review is built like a story, but is always insightful, even the music is chosen with great taste (Bach here, for a German watch). It's like you've taken inspiration from other watch channels but you turn it into something new and truly amazing. I wish you the best. Every watch geek should subscribe to this channel. Great work! Thanks
I couldn't have said it any better, so I am not going to even try. I did notice the Bach, as your words and this channel are pure class. New subscriber here. By the way, it's the only video that I have seen where the speaker can actually get away with a very tactful f--- em'. Awesome...
Man what a refreshing take on a watch review....no condescending tone or accent or a 10 minute intro on unnecessary details! Just good video footage and well chosen words, not to mention a great watch (I'm wearing my Sinn 556i as I write this). Very much a less is more approach and its appreciated. Thank you!
Why anyone would spend the cash on a Rolex Explorer with this on the market is beyond me. I loved the review, love the 556i and just love Sinn as a brand overall.
Don't get me wrong, I love this Sinn but a Rolex is quite different to a Sinn. Technically they're not that far off but some people do genuinely want to pay more for the prestigious image.
I can speak from experience. Had a mark I Explorer 39 mm for 18 months. Never clicked with me, the shiny markers and lack of AR coating made it look cheap under many lighting. Ended up selling it and never looked back. On the other end, bought a 556a early 2019. Works on leather, rubber, nylon, the dimensions are perfect and with a 200 meter depth rating, it’s really a timepiece you never have to worry about. Additional benefit : the risk of getting mugged or stabbed or having your wrist cut off by thieves is fairly low, as it flies under the radar (pun intended 😀)
"Fuck'em!" Lol I love this guy, this is what I like to see in watch review videos. Thank for making the watch collector standards realistic. Keep up the amazing work!
Building an all-purpose watch seems to be one of the most difficult tasks in luxury watch design. To me the Sinn 556I is one of the best allrounders in the field of mechanical watches, no matter which price point you are looking at. Arguably the best alternative that is also capable of doing it all seems to be the Rolex Explorer 214270 which is far more expensive. Even though it is much cheaper than the Rolex the quality and reliability of the Sinn is impeccable. Compared to the Rolex the Sinn has the benefit of drilled lugholes, so you can easily dress it up or down using different straps, plus it has a date function.
I don't own a watch, but these videos are making me see the beauty behind each piece. It's like having mastery, where the craft is pushed, resting on your wrist as it reminds you, can you achieve something like me? Seeing it so close makes me want to pursue that level of craft in my field.
This is the absolutely the best review of any watch that I have ever seen. I actually have a Damasko DA36 and DA46 and I enjoy them both. Since leaving the Sinn team and starting his own Damasko line, it's very obvious to see why the DA36 is so similar to the Sinn 556i. They are both stunning in their own right, but I must say that I now want to own a 556i. I sadly traded my awesome Sinn U1 a few years back, but I loved the bracelet ( which looks identical, on a smaller level ) to the one on the 556i. My next watch purchase will be the 556i on the bracelet, as it simply exudes class. On a side note, I also love the Sinn U1b, as that cool matte blue with matching rubber strap is also calling my name. I do own an early iteration of the Omega Planet Ocean, so I do enjoy the Swiss style as well. I find that the value of the entry level Sinn and Damasko are simply very hard to beat. With my latest above rambling on, I realize just how much I dig this watch world. At any rate, the Sinn 556i and the video are pure class. I just subscribed and keep up the great work...
Love this watch to bits! it may not longer the best watch for 1k but for 1.3k these days it probably is still the best value for its price, the regulation of the top grade SW200 movement is amazing and it is just beautiful.
Your view on watches is quite realistic unlike the more popular YT watch chanels. I share your enthousiasm about Sinn. Just bought a 556 IB and it's an absolute stunner. Though I think it's formal capabilities are somewhat limited. In the end it remains an elegent tool/field watch and not really a dresser. I wish you good luck and take care. Cheers from The Netherlands.
Lab Monkey well it is a sinn. These watches are amazing in terms of the technology they pack and the price. I have a U1 fully tegimented and i really love it
When I first got into watches I liked larger sizes and more shouty "look at me" designs. As I refined my taste over the next couple of years I realised I much prefer watches on the smaller side (38mm-40mm) and designs that look like they're a part of you, instead of something that stands out and demands attention. For these reasons I think this Sinn 556i is the best looking watch on the market. Can't wait to purchase one - I own many watches but I expect this to be the one that gets the most wrist time.
update: I ordered the 556i not long after the original comment but didn't like how the inky black glossy dial in person. Just didn't work for me...so I switched it for a 556a (matte black dial) and never looked back. One of my favourites in the collection without a doubt - what a great watch!
Great review of a great watch! Love my Sinn 556i as well. I also own this exact watch since two years and was SO close to selling it while buying another, more toolwatch inspired Sinn (the 757 UTC). I'm glad I didn't because I just saw the piece in my watch box and couldn't think about selling it for another second. It was the right decision!
Lovely review- your images really show off the beauty of this watch well, and the music for once is unobtrusive, and your comments are occasional but important and to the point. An understand and excellent review
Great video. Beautiful shots and music. I have an 856 UTC on a silicone strap, and am still loving it five years later, but this combination of bracelet and indices is near perfection.
Gorgeous shooting, and well presented review! You earned a sub. The Sinn 556i really speaks to me, it's everything I want in a watch: versatile, robust, sleek, no bullshit, well engineered. I'm starting to save up for it, one day it will be mine! May I ask how big your wrist is? Fits you perfectly.
Perfect size for my 6.5" wrist. The diameter of 38.5mm is important, but the 46mm lug-to-lug length tells me it will hug my wrist. Regarding the 556i's value for money, well I still find myself returning to Stowa. Enjoyed your review, and the tastefull fading in/out of the music.
I have Rolex, Breitling, Omega, and others...but I'm lusting after the quality, practicality, and utility of this Sinn. Will be seeing one at their NY roadshow in 2 weeks and if it fits me well, it might be my only watch.

Top grade like in all Sinn watches with ETA movement.
