What is Centella Asiatica?
Centella Asiatica, also known as Gotu Kola, Indian Pennywort, or simply Centella, is a perennial herb that has been cherished for centuries in traditional uses. Centella Asiatica has become a star ingredient in modern skincare products.
Why Use Centella?
Centella Asiatica is rich in several bioactive compounds, including:
Asiaticoside: Promotes wound healing and collagen production.
Madecassoside: Has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Asiatic Acid and Madecassic Acid: Help to repair skin barrier and reduce inflammation.
Centella for Acne
Centella Reduces Inflammation: Madecassoside, one of the key compounds in Centella, effectively diminishes the inflammatory response, calming irritated skin.
Speeds Up Healing: Asiaticoside promotes collagen synthesis, which aids in the repair of acne scars and damaged skin.
Centella for Moisture
Centella strengthens Skin Barrier: Centella's bioactive compounds reinforce the skin barrier, reducing transepidermal water loss.
Centella for Redness
Centella Supports Skin Repair: By promoting collagen production, Centella helps repair the skin, reducing redness over time.
Centella for Anti Aging
Centella Supports Collagen Synthesis: Asiaticoside and madecassoside stimulate fibroblast proliferation, enhancing collagen production and improving skin elasticity.
Centella for Cellulite
Centella Enhances Circulation: Centella improves blood circulation, which helps reduce the fluid retention and inflammation associated with cellulite.
Centella Also Strengthens Connective Tissue: By promoting collagen synthesis, Centella helps strengthen the connective tissue, reducing the appearance of cellulite.
How to Use Centella for Skin
Topical Application
Creams and Lotions: Apply a Centella-infused cream or lotion to clean, dry skin. These products are ideal for daily use and can be applied morning and night.
Serums: Use a Centella serum after cleansing and toning but before moisturizing. Serums often contain a higher concentration of active ingredients and can provide targeted benefits.
Masks: Centella masks can be used once or twice a week for an intensive treatment. They are excellent for soothing and hydrating the skin.
How to Layer Centella
Layering
Toner: Start with a Centella toner to prepare your skin and enhance the absorption of subsequent products.
Essence: Follow up with a Centella essence for added hydration and skin barrier support.
Serum: Apply a Centella serum for targeted treatment of specific skin concerns.
Moisturizer: Seal in all the goodness with a Centella-infused moisturizer.

Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
Can you discuss corneocyte size and tewl aa you started to discuss in here? I've never heard anyone mention that
Yes. Well, the size and packing density of corneocytes in the stratum corneum affect the skin's ability to retain moisture. With that said, larger corneocytes with compact packing create a denser barrier, reducing TEWL.
Small corneocytes with a tightly packed structure contribute to a more effective barrier function. This then minimizes gaps between cells, reducing the escape of water vapor from the skin (TEWL).
❤️💖🙏❤️💖
Do you have a video for The ordinary pilling solution?
That is actually a good idea!
Where can I buy Centella from, and is it an over the counter medicine??
Yes it’s accessible
I got mine from TJ maxx (if you live in the US) but you can also order online from places like style Korean or stylevana. The prices are very reasonable on those sites.
Can 15 years old with acne and marks used this ?? Plz reply
Yes, it can be an option.
The Vietnamese would make this pennywort extract drink that reduces inflammation in the body and soothe gastric issues, however this drink is loaded with sugar.😂 It tastes similar to wheatgrass.
Maybe i’ll try it if i’m there! Did you like it?
@@ArsalanAspires Yes, it’s refreshing! It’s sold in many Vietnamese restaurants and bakeries here in the USA. Or just make it at home, pennywort is sold fresh at Asian supermarkets. Just blend clean pennywort with water in a blender, strain out the juice and add sweetener and ice. We make it during the summer time and it’s consistently heals the body of heat rashes or any internal inflammatory issues.
@@sewitseams5632 Thank you, i’ll check it out in my local Vietnamese shop and restaurants. I’m so happy you informed me about it. 😊
@@ArsalanAspires look for “Nuoc Rau Ma” on the menu, looks like a wheatgrass juice served iced cold.
