This is the 1st time I've ever had to challenge someone on UA-cam for a completely absurd & inaccurate statement. Kathy Valentine is a respected blues rock guitarist and songwriter who has a career and musical identity that goes well beyond the Go Go's as a member of The Textones, Girlschool, World's Cutest Killers, The Delphines, the Bluebonnets & others. She's played rhythm/lead guitar in all bands mentioned + bass in the Go Go's+a solo album. No one has ever had to play in the shadows for her
Thank you. I know that . . But thank you, for saying I wanted to say. Big love always.
Second that dammit!!!!
Whoever you were directing that to hadn't a clue. KV is incredible. 'Nuff said, mutha-effa
Kathy Valentine is a true survivor. She got knocked down and rose again countless times.
Her 4 Go-Go’s mates were STUPID and ASSHOLES in 2013 for fire her just because she posted some memoir tweets about their behavior. And that was after Carlisle published her own memoir book. I can't wonder how much more SUFFERING KV can take until she get crazy...
That woman is stronger than the vast majority of men in Show Business.
Kathy killed on that guitar. I love how she did the early rock and roll kicks during her solo.
Any band that can get on stage to back up Little Richard has my undying admiration.
Hell no! What you talking about, the Go-Go's were amazing musicians and songwriters... they wrote and played every damn note themselves!
He's the greatest,ever.A living legend!
Rest in Peace Little Richard...The Legend!
Before there was Elvis, before there was Jerry Lee, there was Little Richard!
Very nice but I still favor the faster version in the key of F-major. That one rocks my soul to the bone.
the 'Little', but actually the 'King' Richard of Rock'N'Roll lol
Little Richard is just cruising along really easy at the key signature and tempo compared to normal.
it's true, these girls do not play with the intensity of his own band.,
LOVE IT! Remember seeing this on TV years ago. Love The Go-Go's & Little Richard
I think the bass player is Dominique Davalos, who played occasionally with the Go-Go's during Charlotte Caffey's absence, and who was also a bandmate of Kathy Valentine when they performed as The Delphines. Gina Schock also played drums off and on in the Delphines.
Is it? I thought it was Paula Brown who was a Go-Go briefly after Jane left.
@@christine3043
She did, but Jane's back in this, Charlotte's Prego, kv slides to guitar (her preferred choice), and they got a bassist (not pb)
The most beatiful voice i have (understand?) Thank you from Italy, MR Penniman
The go-go's with the 1950s Rock and roll legend little Richard
Induct these talented musicians into the ROCK AND HALL OF FAME!! Only ALL Female Band, Song writers, paved the the way for punk bands like "Greenday" Avril Levine No Doubt. First ONLY female band to have #1 Album!! 🎵❤
Done. Class of 2021.
@@amysullivan774 So happy for them. Much deserved! Please send me tickets.
Would have been a hit in 57! Any other year too.Go go go aah rooty! Richards piano is killer. So different from JLL. Guitar is funky.
The great Little Richard! Amazing singer!
The Great Little Richard
You're not going to believe this, but Little Richard just died today at the age of 87.
RIP, Little Richard. You will always be the architect of rock 'n roll.
@HSECMAN : I think the idea was to gel different generations of musicians and genres together and in this case, genders as well, to create an interesting, entertaining mix. To my ears they were successful.
ISSO SIM É MORAL: até o Grande LITTLE RICHARD foi conquistado como um grande fã das GO-GO'S!
Love it. I love most music genres. Rock, blues, bluegrass, classic country.....
So cool seeing Kathy back on guitar rockin like hell!
In my Dream World, Kathy Valentine is the definitive Go-Go's
Rythm Guitar Player.
She really swings. And she takes a mean solo here as well.
Little Richard Is The Bestttt
This was in early *1995* ... not 1994.
They were on Leno a few days before on Jan. 26 (with Bangle Vicki Peterson filling in for Charlotte.)
DEADLY STUFF,,,GO GO"S ARE A TIGHT BAND
El Rey del Rock and roll! Ésa canción es un himno nacional!
😝🌼👏🌻😋😈🐍
i'd go a wop-bop-a lu baa , a wop bam boom all over belinda .
Ive been a go go's fan since 1982...never saw Kathy play guitar live with them before now. Love Char, but Kathy is a way better lead guitarist.
Bards Corner I am also a Go Go´s fan since 1982, Kathy has played guitar in bands such a Girlschool and the Textones. Kathy had not previously played bass guitar, Kathy played guitar in 1985 on the festival Rock in Rio in Brazil, Paula Jean Brown played bass guitar, who had replaced Jane Wiedlin.
Vicki Peterson from The Bangles replaced a pregnant Charlotte Caffey on the 1994-95 Go Go´s reunion tour, Kathy played the guitar sometimes in 1994-95, like this.
Kathy is a guitarist first. She is very good and very respected. She picked up bass for the go-go's. While Char was away, her spot was filled in by our Kathy and Vicki Peterson of the Bangles.
Charlotte used to play bass in her former band The Eyes. However, being that she's amazingly talented on keyboards, made more sense for her to play lead. And she was in The Go-Go's long before Kathy, who initially was temporary. A lead guitarist can step away from guitar and play piano without affecting the song as a whole. A bass player cannot.
Charlotte is a good lead guitarist. Why compare? They have different styles. They all fit their roles in the band perfectly.
Yeah, but in the other hand Kathy Valentine is a "flipper" too, and equally did step away from guitar and play bass in a original way, creating a totally new soundscape for the band.
Kathy Valentine and Charlotte Caffey are equally great, extraordinaire lead guitarists.
If you have time and interest, you can use Google Translator from Portuguese and read my article about THE BEST ROCK & ROLL MEMOIR EVER as an Open Letter for all the Big Brazilian Book Publishers asking for one of them to publish Kathy Valentine's book here in Brazil. americanofilosim.blogspot.com/2020/08/kathy-valentine-all-i-ever-wanted.html
This should get 900zillion views cuz it's deserves it That's why and HOW rest in peace Little Richard this version is Superb than Elvis Presley s Version
saw this when it first aired and then went out friends and got drunk...good times
THE KING
Hey low IQ.
Elvis is the king.
Dumbass
THE 5 KINGS:
Elvis Presley
Bill Haley
Chuck Berry
Little Richard
Jerry Lee Lewis
Lr Rocks
Who's the one playing bass?
Littel Richardt Er verdens bedste Rock and Roll sanger, ingen når op på hans niveau, når han er bedst.
GREAT!
Lr The King
who's the bass player
1republikapilipinas Dominique Davalos.
ah, Vicki Peterson, maybe..
Nope! Not here. No Vicki
That's Kathy Valentine on lead Guitar who usually played bass for the Go-Go's. Charlotte Who usually played lead guitar is not here in this performance. Jane is still on rhythm guitar and Gina on drums. The lady playing the bass is just filling in since Kathy is playing lead guitar.
Wowwwww
@JayBBluejay Thanks. I would have never suspected.
Woooooo
@banglefan1982 You're right, how could I say such a thing about a pioneer or rock? Oh that's right, she wasn't. How could I say such a thing about such an epic songwriter? Oh yeh, someone wrote her hits for her. If it were Charlotte Caffey up there I might show some respect. You're tone deaf if you think Belinda sounds good here. She's simply out of her league singing with a legend. Also, noticing your name, the bangles didn't write any of their charting hits either.

😊👏👏👏👏👏

Check out the guitar solo at 2:52 !! (I believe Vicki Peterson from the Bangles-Charlotte Caffey I understand was pregnant at the time).
It' looks like Kathy Valentine to me. And it is amazing. Especially when she goes into a mini-duck walk.
It's Kathy.
The one and only Kathy Valentine sweetie. Kathy is and always has been a guitarist first. And when Char had issues with Carpel Tunnel during the Talk Show era Kathy played a lot of that album as lead guitarist.
Where is Charlotte
Very pregnant at the time with soon to be daughter, Astrid.
This is Amazing
Hey Hey hey
Gorgeous!!
Wooo
Ooo wooooooo
Woooooo
Loco
😀😊😊😊😊😊
great boogie piano but what the hell are the go go's doing with him? miles apart on fame and talent. and why is it so freakin slow?
The girls have short hair and the man has long hair....and he's better looking, too!
🤣🤣🤣🤣Come on now, be nice.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤗
who is the bassist?? Kathy is on lead guitar..
I believe it is Dominique Davalos who is also in Kathy V's band The BlueBonnets. It's hard to tell because they don't show her close up.
I thought it was Paula Brown. She was a Go-Go briefly after Jane left. Kathy took over rhythm guitar and Paula played bass.
Vicki Peterson from The Bangles. She replaced a pregnant Charlotte Caffey
on the 1994/95 Go-Go´s reunion tour, Kathy played the guitar sometimes in 1994-95, like this.
@@ernestoribeiro2226 No, that is not Vicki on bass here... but she did play with them just a few days before this on Leno - the video is here on youtube.
were jane and belinda ever ever lovers , (during 77-82 - the irs - success - coke years )
It would be better without this girls
Little Richard is too good to play with the Go-go's...
Love how they have a hidden guitarist backstage doing the solo while K Valentine plays rhythm. Go Go's were so bad.
@banglefan1982 Lol; I'd be more into rich's body than Carlisle's; not that either of them would be a catch. I am fortunate enough to be blessed with absolute pitch: an ability you are clearly lacking. Carlisle is a frontrunner for all that is wrong in music today. She was one of the first manufactured pop stars. She lost any credibility she had when she left the gogo's. She's in the same boat as Justin Bieber and n'sync.
