Pavel Bure was without the doubt the best Canuck of all-time. You can say the Sedins, but it took two of them to be thought of in the same air as The Russian Rocket.
Absolutely not.......sedins, or linden, naslund, Bobby lou time plays into it, I would lean heavily on hank and Dan as goats for that franchise, Linden 3rd..........Bure didn't spend his career there so can't put him up there, would almost put kirk Maclean and Doug lister above him........pure talent wise maybe but not the greatest canuck maybe most talented to play for them, although this will possibly off Canucks fans, you could argue Messier or Mogilny as well
Bure's goal in 94 to win game 7 in OT against Calgary was one of the most insane sporting moments I ever witnessed. Every time he touched the puck you felt like something could happen.
I think he was struggling as a teenager with a growth spurt and he didn't have the strength and ability to skate well. Unfortunately it was his knees that couldn't last anymore with the punishment on his body of playing at such a high level in the NHL.
i'm from van and i watched him from day one. from standing still he was full speed in 2 strides. plyometrics. he played in the days of clutching and grabbing. a d man could hook him around the waist and water ski behind him down the ice with no call. he would be blowing the doors off the likes of austin matthews and nathan mackinnon if he played in todays nhl. the greatest canuck ever.
Great video, covering the career of "The Russian Rocket" Pavel Bure. This is content that always speak to me! Thank you !!!! Sergie Federov, Alexander Mogilny, Pavel Bure, Nikolai Khabibulin, Alexi Kovalev, Sergei Zubov, what an incredible wave of tallents that came from same late-Soviet era!

The Vancouver Franchise and its organization did him dirty. Nothing new with the nucks. Still ongoing to this day. Watched him plenty of times and can honestly say he took folks out of their seats ! Myself included.
When the Canucks made Bure pay $50k of the portion of the transfer fee, so he could be released from Russia, I thought that was pretty cheesy. But Pavel more than made up for it when he got his big contract a few years later.
@@wellyforpm Pat Quinn had to have Pavel pay a part of the fee, so that the organization was not looked upon as being taken advantage in my opinion.. The club had to pull a lot of strings, spend a lot of time and resources, to figure out how to take advantage of the loop holes in the NHL draft. @@wellyforpm Quinn? Nah disagree with you here. Pavel loved and respected Pat Quinn. Their relationship was not toxic. You can insert Frank Griffiths Sr and family in here. Then there’s the current ownership which has personal problems of their own and how they treat their clients , business partners, contractors etc in the outside. Love this video! Not sure if you are taking suggestions but I would love if you made a video about Trevor Linden. Not a lot of people outside the canucks fans know about him and they should.
If I had been born just a few years earlier this man single handedly would have made me a Canucks fan instead of a Blackhawks fan...I am from Chicagoland.
We got him at the very end. Had he been able to stay healthy, no doubt he would have broken Gretzkys record. Never seen a player score so effortlessly...
In Nagano he scored 5 goals in the semis against the Finns. 5 goals in a game, in Olympic semiifinals, let it sink in. He didnt score against Hašek in the finals.
Bure NEVER threatened to sit out in the playoffs, that was a BS story, leaked by canucks management to put pressure on him in the contract dealings, I remember the story in the province. It was all a lie. Canucks management is the reason that Bure ended up leaving, he could have been a Canuck for life.

Was Bure the greatest Vancouver Canuck of all time boys??
Also sorry for the weird glitch at 13:33, had to remove a tiny part due to copyright
Rockin my Bure (rangers lmao) jersey in Pittsburgh today… shame us ranger fans only got to root against him at his best.

By a country mile, Bure never played with great players and had back to back 60G's. Still waiting for Boeser,Petey, Miller to even sniff 50...

I agree❤❤❤
100%
Same.
If you know, you know.
Imagine prime Bure with today's skates... wow.
And no two line pass
And no hooking, holding, and slashing!!!
Giving him a HOF center and winger like alot of the greats had the benefit of.
Yes that would be something !
But we will also be saying this about McDavid 25 to 30 yrs from now.
@@memo193 In 30 years, the young hockey fans will be telling us how McDavid was only good because he played in a low-talent era.
Him struggling at skating to the point he chose ball hockey is one of the most ironic twists of any stories

Gilbert Perreault was also similar. He initially preferred street hockey to playing on ice.
