Should come with a ratchet drill with a lithium battery to make short work of those screw jacks. I am seeing RV users carry those for stuff which requires lots of winding. I suspect the first or second time many owners mess with removing and replacing that spare, it will go in the back instead of going back under the truck.
You are probably right, however taking into consideration the fact that many of these vans will care a lot of cargo, it isn't always an option to store the tire in the back of the van, I do agree that it would be best if they made a tool for lowering it.
Your tutorial was great but your cameraman sucks.. must of been in a suit or something. He didn't come down to show close ups of anything you're pointing at. Lol
Thanks for this solid video. Concerning the tools, I have a 2020 Promaster 159" with swivel seats. Do you know where I might find those tools for changing the tire? Thanks.
I can certainly try to make a video like that of the front tire change, but you will have to wait until it's not negative 50 degrees outside as our service lane is packed.
@@mr.hollywoodrampromaster2410 thank you for that and its cold enough here in UK so sympathise with you on negative 50 so will send you a bucket or 3 of sunshine from Portugal when i am there in the next few month
@@clarkspiemuncher24 Hopefully by that time we will have positive temperatures, we are expected to be back to standard Chicago temperatures by the weekend.

Dodge Ram Promaster is the worst vehicle to have ever existed in every dimension possible. It only has problems and will only EVER have problems and it will never ever end. Save yourself and get a different van! Before the Promaster gets YOU. Thanks for helping me change my spare. Good video, bad van.
"Super easy"? "Easy peasie"? Hmmm, I don't want to be rolling around in the dirt from my shoulder to ankle getting out the spare, nor do I want to be doing a hundred half turns on the jack screw changing my hand position every half turn. Someone needs to show Dodge engineers the value of a "Z" bar and allow all their customers the simple luxury of cranking up the jack in one fluid circular motion.
There are road services available and you can certainly have someone come out and do it for you :). Or you can invest in run flat tires and be able to make it to a repair center. This process is actually rather easy for a van this size. I do however admit that a Z bar would be nice, I will point your suggestion out to our RAM representative, hopefully you will see the change in the next years model. :) Thank you
That thing is sitting like a stink bug! Looks Absolutely horrible. 10 inch tire gap on the rear and three in the front what the hell. Mine doesn't feel like that at all.
great job bro thanks. life saver
Safety point: Always loosen the lugs before jacking up the van.
Thank u brother just purchased a 2018. Ty
Solid video, I'd only add, loosen the lug nuts before you elevate it so you don't rock it off the jack

It would be nice to see a video that shows how to use a floor jack at a proper jacking point
Now if I only had the rod that fits into the lowering mechanism. 5 sided of course. Freaking FIAT
Thanks for the reminder to lube the spare tire mechanism
thankk you for reminding me
How about showing us where we lower the spare at?

why does no one show you how to change a front tyre using the supplied jack ?
I will go ahead and make another video featuring that for you :). Keep a lookout.

Now i know why people call triple a instead of dealing with this crap set up...
The instructions suck. Don't say "really easy" . There are mystery parts in the kit that aren't even mentioned in the instructions, for one thing.
