(My great grandmother used to crochet with this small thread and needle all the time, made Beautiful scarfs, she made big ones that stood up! They starched with sugar and then dried them!
Hi Austin! Thank you for watching 😊 I am hoping to do more with thread and lace myself... I might even try to starch something!
I did one for mum about 30+ years ago that she still uses. She has requested another one so this 8s a good memory provoker for me. I can't remember what I did yesterday so thank you sweetie! It will still be a make it up as I do so will let you know. U give confidence which is priceless!

Hi Tlad! Thank you 😊
Oh, how pretty this is! I haven't made doilies in years, but I will be making this one. Thank you so much for this!
Hi Kerri! It's a nice, easy dip back into the world of doilies 😊
@@JaydaInStitches Update: I made one with 24/7 cotton by Lion Brand (white) with a 4 mm hook and it came out to almost 13 inches across. Love it! Just have to block it. :)
Hi! I love this pattern and will make it with cotton yarn. Maybe I will try to make a few and connect them to make a table runner! Thanks for the inspiration! 😊❤️🧶
I'd love to hear how that turns out if you do it!
@@JaydaInStitches I will keep you posted! 👍🏼🧶
Just made my first doily 😮. I had some cotton yarn left over and used H hook. Only did to row 7, but I love how it turned out and doilies are not as scary. Thank you so much Jayda In Stitches.❤❤❤❤
I'm so happy to hear that! Thank you for watching 😊
Always wanted to do a doily but thought they were intimidating. Watching you tutorial has given me the idea I can do thus. You explain things so well. Thank you❤
Wonderful! I'm so happy to hear that 😊 Thank you for watching Patricia 💗
Oh Jayda so Pretty! Gonna make one of these 😊thank you for sharing ❤️ 😊
Thank you Tainya! 💗
really nice one. I might be able to try this one out. beginner here....very nice
Try it! Use the yarn and larger hook like I did in the video and just remember to be patient. You also might find that marking the first stitch of each row with the stitch marker really helps keep track of where you are so you don't have to think about it 😊
This would look so pretty with a crystal in the center of the heart and hanging in the window!!!
Oh wow, yes!
Very pretty Jayda thank you 🤍Amanda xx🤍
Thank you Amanda 💗
That’s so cute!!!!!
Thank you for watching 😊
Very beautiful, I think that would make a nice placement with a clear plate
Oh wow, glass plates on top...hadn't thought of that! Beautiful idea!
Blessings and crocheting 🧶👋🏾 awesome 👍🏾
Thank you for watching 😊
I absolutely love that it’s only 9 rounds and so so cute! I don’t have any soft cotton but I have baby weight white yarn and going to give it a go 🦋💕🦋thank you sweet Jayda!
Perfect! It will make a very nice centrepiece!
Thank you so much for making this video on Doilies!! This is so nice!! I am making mine in a 4 cotton yarn and a 4 hook. There were some awesome ideas of what to do with them . I think I am going to make a few and make a table runner out of it. I really like that idea. When I can afford it I am going to join and become a member of the channel.
Hi Julie, I'd love to see a photo of your table runner if you make it! Thank you so much for supporting our channel 💗
Thanks for the simple doily pattern. Just finished the pattern using a size #3 crochet cotton thread and the recommended 1.75mm hook.
Wonderful! Thank you for watching Tracy 😊
This is so pretty! And much easier than it looks! Thank you Jayda!
Hi Debra! Thank you for watching 😊

I enjoyed making this today! I used a F hook( 3.75 mm) and 24/7 eveyday cotton in 2 shades of pink. I love the heart af the center❤💝🥰💕💌❤️❣️😊

❤awesome I made doiley last year valentines in weight #3 love this one you made looks good
Thank you Eleanor! 💗
This is absolutely lovely and I have made my first one. I am going to use it for the center of a wreath. I did it in a 3 weight yarn in pastels.
What a lovely idea!
Love it❤
Thank you!
❤❤❤
Awesome 👍👍
Thanks 🤗
I listened to this in the car - got home and made it from 3 ply baby yarn using an F hook it still came to 141/2 inches point to point without blocking🦋💕🦋 Thank you again Sweet Jayda- it’s perfect❤️
Oooh! That's wonderful! Thank you for watching 😊
Love this doiley can make in different colors for different holidays as a center piece for a table. For Valentine's day will make it in white and dol last row in red to give it some color but not in your face.
I love that idea!
Saw this and immediately worked it up. Had the red 3 weight cotton already out, so I just rolled with red. Looks nice. I used an F hook for mine.
Oh fantastic!
Hi Jayda I do not know I neve mad a doily before so I am going to try this one I right it down that way I can make it over again. So have a good day.
Hi Kathy! Try it with yarn and a hook like I did in the video first, it's a lot less scary, just think of it like making a round project and not so much a doily 😊
I have a few balls of cotton-acrylic yarn and now I know how to use it.
Lovely! Thank you for watching Jane 😊
That is beautiful!
Thank you Monica 💗
Omg this is so cool thank you!
Thank you for watching June! 😊
This is so cute Jayda, love it

Wonderful! Thank you for watching 😊
I really loved doing this doily. I would enjoy more of them. I like how u teach. I’ve done lots of your videos. This is my 3rd year making a temp blanket. I taught myself how to crochet by watching UA-cam and a lot of your videos
Thank you so much Sheila!
This was a blast! I will use the center heart idea for other projects! ❤️
It's definitely a cute motif for beginning things!
Omg, so cute!
Hi Mandi!
I love making doilies with thread. I use them to make vintage projects. I will check out your other patterns.
Hi Debora! Thank you for watching 😊
So beautiful Jayda. I’m going to try this one. Looks easy and sweet. TFS
Hi Rebecca! Its definitely easier than it looks 😁
Very cute
Thank you Crocus! 😊
I am venturing into things like doilies, it nice to see it being demonstrated 😊
Wonderful! Thank you for watching Sylvia 😊
Doilies are my favorite - they’re the reason I wanted to crochet in the first place. 💕
Yesterday I saw a cute candy dish at the store and thought it needed a doily to sit beneath it. I wondered if there were any heart doily patterns (or doilies with hearts incorporated into the design). And your tutorial appeared today!!!!!!! Almost as if I had asked the Doily Fairy Queen herself!!!!!
At Halloween time I made some black doilies with cats in them 🐈⬛ and some white doilies with ghosts in them 👻 and had requests from friends to make more. They were SO MUCH FUN!!!
Thanks so much for this treasure of a doily!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! 💕💕💕
Hi Matilda! That's great timing! Thank you for watching 😊
Oh my. I love doilies. So cute.
Thank you Kathy!
This is lovey! I was just talking to my ‘yarny’ friend about crochet doilies. Did you read my mind? 🤣💕 This doily is so sweet & just in time for Valentine’s Day! Thanks Jayda! ❤️🧶
Great minds think alike, or so I'm told Deb 😁
It would be pretty to make they heart red or pink then the outside in white.
Yes! And not difficult either 😊
Love your heart dolly!!!!!!! You are so creative! Want to make it when I have time.
Thank you for watching! 💗
Beautiful pattern . I'm going to make two and sew them on cushions for my bed.❤
What a pretty idea!
I just bought thread for snowflakes
I will definitely try this!❤
Wonderful!
I will definitely be making this pattern ❤greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Hello from Canada! Thank you for watching 😊
Love it!!!❤
Hi Bella!
So pretty!!
Thank you Karen!
I love it 💕 I can’t wait to make it!
Yay! Thank you Yvonne 💗!
I have yarn I bought on sale but not idea what to make. I do now. 😊❤
Perfect! 😃
Omg so cute could you make it bigger for a table?
Hi! I'm sure it could keep getting bigger so long as the basic math was followed, but I haven't fiddled with it much past Row 9 😊
This was fun. I didn't think i'd be able to do it but I used regular cotton yarn. I just cannot work with thread.
Thread can be really fiddly, I'm still not 100% sold on it 😂
Hello jayda, such a pretty pattern, I love making doilies, would love to see more patterns, can I use number 4cotton, what size hook should I use. love from Georgetown guyana 🇬🇾 🙏🥰🤗
Hi Stephanie, if you want to use a thicker yarn than I used, try using the 4.00 mm hook to start and if that produces a stitch that is too tight, go up to 4.50 mm and so on. Tension and yarn weight really varies, and you want a doily that looks lacy and not tight, but also not too loose 💗
@@JaydaInStitches Thanks jayda. 😊 🙏
What is the yarn needle you used to weave in the end? Can you provide a link, please. That looks so easy to use.
Hi Dina! Yes, that's a wool needle, I love them. We have a couple of affiliate links for Amazon here:

Very very pretty doily thank you for your tutorial but how can I make it bigger like a little bigger than a charger plate I really appreciate your input I like to make it for my daughter's round table thank you, thank you ❤😊
Hi Leticia, the easiest way to upsize something like a doily that has very specific counts associated with it (like this one) is to use heavier weight yarn or thread and a bigger hook. You could try this pattern with 24/7 cotton (because it's mercerized) and a 4.50 mm or G/6 hook.
Not a live 😢
Cute I'll be making up several
Hi Sandy! Lives are on Mondays 😊 Enjoy the doily! 💗💗💗
What is that noise? Heater?
I'm not sure what you're hearing Reta! The computer maybe?
Could you have made anything cuter!?!?
😁 Thank you Ms. Rabbit!
