Snagging one on eBay now. I've been running with a Mars 2 Pro, and love it, but with I would have gone with the larger build plate to begin with. Thank you for the review!
Video idea - see if the Sunlu clear ABS-like is stronger than the grey or black. I ask because nearly all professional engineering resins are clear for two reasons. One is that pigments weaken them. Two is that they cannot cure as deeply.
I hate the build plate on the Saturn 3. Whatever they did by laser etching the plate, it either causes it to be harder to get things to print on it or, when you do, it gets hard to remove anything from it. The Saturn 2 gives me far less problems with build plate issues.
im really pleased with it! its way faster than my "old" printers, i havent noticed any z wobble even with a full packed plate - but i use a chamber heater, so its not exactly an apples to apples comparison. There will allways be a next best thing and every mashine will sooner or later seem outdated (with todays tech progression). Im actually glad it doesnt include extras like a resin pump because the last time i paid for it it didnt work!
the only point i try to make is to show some innovation, like the pump doesn't need to be included but it would be great if it's something to add on if you need it. Having to fill it during printing is not ideal. Now the 4 ultra came out and it finally looks like they are trying to do more then just make it look cool with higher pixel count. With the s3u the goal is faster printing by incl. acf sheet but in my testing you kinda solve 1 problem and create another. Like with anything slow and steady wins the race so if you dial it in a bit slower the s3u is just another great non groundbreaking alternative.
@@NoizieWorks you don't need a pump, you just need an upside down bottle with two tubes sticking out of the cap, the other ends of the tubes inserted into a corner of the vat. the vat will refill whenever the resin drops low enough to expose one or both of the tube ends. the whole thing could easily be 3d printed small enough to fit in either back corner of the printer or you could use an external stand for the bottle and feed the tubes in through the vent hole.
I've definitely ran into the sucking problem on my Saturn 3. It's such a pain having 1/3 of my prints just not work, but I'm starting to get it figured out.
sucks right 😆adding vent holes is really the key if you hollow it. Depending on the location you can hide them so you don't see them or you fill the holes and with resin sanding very easy it's a no brainer to do.
