  • GD3 & GE8 Steering Rack Replacement. Extremely similar removal process between both (and most vehicles with an electronic rack such as Civic Si, EP3 etc.)

    Nice fit. In your humble opinion do you think I could remove the electric motor (black cylinder with the 3 wires) to get to the diver side sway bar bushing without dropping the sub frame? I hope so because if not this is a great excuse to buy a new front sway bar and drop the frame anyways.

      Great question a couple floor jacks or even one and some balancing did the trick for myself, with the subframe lifted into place close enough to alignment and begin to thread a couple bolts the rest of the install is quite effortless.

      One could also use long portions of the correctly threaded rod and nuts to lower and lift the subframe replacing the bolts one at a time as they are removed with the threaded rods and attached nuts.
