Same happen to me, mini Cooper clubman 2021, bought a MANN HU 6015 and the original filter Is marked 6012 , reinstall the old one, in waiting the new MANN HU 6012 from Amazon.....2 hours of work for nothing 😢 If only I had seen your video sooner !
I purchased three wrong filters before finding this video. NO ONE has been able to tell me the correct filter! Thank you for this, you've saved me a lot of time and money.
@Elaine Fletcher, I know the feeling. No auto store could find the correct filter. That is why I thought it important to share info with my fellow owners of the Mini. I did find that another filter can be found at Autozone Parts stores. Here is the link to one. www.autozone.com/filters-and-pcv/oil-filter/p/stp-oil-filter-s45018/1092727_0_0
Hi Sam, thanks for taking your time to share the info. I’m about to change oil on 2019 3 bang turbo. Wife bought it to replace her wrecked....not her fault...2015 Mini ragtop. The owners manual is useless. No “capacities” info. I was surprised to see the “twin turbo” lettering on the engine cover so I decided to sniff around for info from a fellow car guy and thankfully found you. I picked up a filter and oil at NAPA an hour ago before finding your video. I’ve done years and years of oil changes and repairs on our cars/trucks/motorcycles but take nothing for granted and seek info. Thanks Sam. Dave in Omaha.
Sam, you are THE MAN!!! I was in my garage looking at that wrong Mann filter from my wife’s 2020 Clubman that I got online from EuroTune who I called but was closed on Saturday but you, Sam, were open! Thank you so much for solving my problem while I was still standing in my garage with greasy fingers smearing my IPhone screen! I was just thinking this morning that there should be awards for regular people who help humanity with their UA-cam videos. You Sam deserve such an award!
Thanks for the video. The WIX WL10518 comes with the correct kit for my 2020 1.5L Mini Cooper Countryman. The WIX kit matches exactly what you showed, filter and drain plug.
The Mann and Wix filters will work perfectly fine. The plug is shorter because the filter is not recessed, but that doesn't affect the filter in any way. The o-ring on the plug is still the same depth. More importantly, the benefit of the Wix filters is that they do NOT have a Torx head. Plastic and Torx is a terrible combination. When it breaks (speaking from experience here), it is a total pain to get that plug out without ruining the housing for the filter. Believe me, you're going to want to skip OEM with this situation and use the Wix/Mann with the standard socket head.
@TheRunge17, thanks for your information. There are always others answers to the same issue, posting is helpful as folks read a discussion thread. Thanks for posting your experience with the Filter change on the Mini Cooper.
Thanks for the info as I watched this video prior to purchasing my filter. I did get correct or same filter from Advance Auto under the Car Quest Brand part # 95330. Had the 6 tabs and correct parts also for $16 bucks. Not sure how much you paid for BMW brand.
@Steve Albritton, thanks for you comments and information. I paid $24 at BMW. I am glad my video helped you to not get the wrong filter as I did when I first went on line and order a Mini filter. This is not good with all oil drained and now how do you get to the parts store to get the correct filter. Well, two vehicles. I did find no dealer had the filters as I did my search in the beginning. BMW will have the correct filter as last resort.
This does have some helpful information; for sure the oil will gush out with the oil plug so you will make a mess if you are not aware of it. Also I ordered the Mann filter. Sounds like I got the wrong filter too that the retailer said "fits" mine... One helpful thing to do is I ordered a "shut off " valve in place of the oil pan plug. the outlet would be pointing to the ground but also you can put a flexible drain tube to direct the oil flow. My problem now is to how to jack the car up so I can put jack stands on the jack points. A video showed that you can jack the car between the wheels on one side with a 2 x 4 x 3 (maybe)... but I'm not comfortable with that. I need it jacked up so that I can "roll" underneath the car and feel safe. Maybe you can show me how I can jack the car up to put jack stands under? I need to be under that car... 2017 Countryman All4 S
5.5 Quartz!!!!!!! Not gallons. People please proof read/edit your videos before publishing! There are those out there that will try their best to stick 5 gallons in the motor. Their is a difference between standard oil and synthetic, choose the right one!!

@AuctionGA Thanks for the info. I will try to put this info in the description of my video to help others.
God Info. Thanks. You should make note the 32mm should be a low profile socket. Hope this helps.
Is a low profile socket needed for space reasons?
