His use of chords blows my mind. He is like a string section to his self: he uses one string to set the bass line, another two or three to create the chord progression, all while moving a melody around inside it the whole time.. I think he is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.
I agree! I remember as a teen hearing and seeing Killing Joke for the first time in the eighties and his guitar being so melodic but as heavy as hell! 😎
@@bigscountrygame3510 I went to see them on the Extremities tour and was standing right in front of him - I was just transfixed by how gracefully and smoothly his hands sort of flowed across his guitar and the contrast between how calm and serene he appeared, and the monumental sounds that he was creating.
This is one of 12 demos Geordie Walker recorded in Prague in 2006 and collected together into a kind of solo demo album he was calling "Animal Pharm" at the time. These 12 songs were all put out on a Myspace page in 2007 without Geordie's working song titles, just numbers. Geordie's working title for this song, listed here as "Demo 8" was "TELEGRAPH."
So many layers and textures. I see how hes doing it and its simple but so impressive. Imagine the wine glass half full and wiping a finger around the rim till it resonates louder and louder. The feed back he's getting back here he is completely in control with. The other thing that astounds me is they have done so many many tracks and yet this guy can make so many different sounds with out hardly moving from the same few chords.
Goodbye Geordie. There will not be another like you. A true original unable to be replicated. Unique. Special.
