- Fuse box keeps tripping? Does your electric keep tripping? Then watch this video by MDS Electrical.
Martin from MDS Electrical, Peterborough's trusted electrician is here to help! Be sure to follow this advice before calling an electrician!
The sockets went at midnight, my partner and I were deeply panicking, this video helped us and fixed the problem, thank you so much for this helpful video
Can I ask what your issue was please
Watched your video Martin and followed your trouble shooting advise to successfully isolate why a ring main tripped out in my Kitchen area. Suspected the washing triggered my RCD protection switch. Had a bit of a think as to why the breaker kept tripping and searched UA-cam and found your channel very helpful. Now restored power without the need to callout an electrician. If it trips again I may have to do so but for now top advice, thank you!
Thank you sooo much, you saved my life. I’m a lady on my own and just didn’t know what to do with my fuse box. Your clear instructions were so helpful…. THANK YOU XXX
OMG thank you so much for posting this video! Our power went off and kept tripping too so I followed your instructions and it turned out my son had left his attic window open and rain has soaked his xbox and the extension lead. He’s not going to be pleased when he gets home from work!
Extremely helpful, thanks to you my family and I have electricity until the electrician comes in the morning to fix whatever is happening with one of the switches.
House alarm was going off at 6am after a power trip. You’re video helped enormously. Thank you.
Thank you for the video. Really helpful as a single woman with two children I had no idea why it had tripped or how to fix it. Turns out it was my boiler that was making it trip. Thanks again
Spot on mate. Just sorted mine out and found the offending light !!!
Martin thank you I was at a loss .The kettle was the problem !
Thank you, this helped a great deal. It was the electric shower, I’m guessing it’s due to using a wall paper stripper/steamer in the bathroom that caused it. I’m not sure but will be calling an electrician tomorrow!!
Thank you . I was so worried when my sockets weren't working and the fuse kept tripping. I followed exactly what's been said, and it worked. Thank you so much.
This is why I love UA-cam😊
I located the problem and I’ve called an electrician. Thank you for making this video. 👍🏼
Martin, your clear instructions helped us sort out the problem. Many thanks!
This guy is a legend. Really helped me out this morning.
Most welcome for watching
Exactly what I needed. Thanks!
What a super explanation, got me out of trouble at midnight. Thank you
I like your tutorial. Very clear and precise. I shall share it. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
Awesome - thanks for your help. Sorted me out this time and gave me a process for the future.
Thankyou so much! Tried this method and isolated the faulty sockets. The electricity had tripped at 1am - this was super helpful. Thanks Martin :)
You're an absolute life saver! Thank you so much, a section of my flat keeps making the switch to flipp.I tried switching it back on it went floppy, then I turned it off for the night.Watched your video, now I'm able to switch it on and it stayed in place. Many thanks to you !
Thanks for this! Something tripped in the house here and am thinking its a dodgy socket, but at least I've got the wifi router back and the heating on. Thanks dude!!
Excellent, very well and logically explained. Many ta.
Been having issues with a socket in my bedroom causing the whole house to go dark but thankfully those I live with knew what to do so I, rather stupidly, never bothered to learn. I know where my mains box is but never had to do it myself before so this helped when I was alone at home. Thanks very much!
Thanks a mill for this very helpful video! Power went out today and I managed to fix it having come across your vid 🙏🏽👍🏼👍🏼
Top advice. Thanks a lot, I am not going to sleep in the cold. Stay blessed.
Thank you so much for this. I was worried about switching back the RCD protection - so far so good but at least I know what to test if it happens again.
Your video was very helpful to fix the same.problem we faced 👍
I did all this and of course it keeps tripping. What can an electrician do apart from replace the entire lower floor socket system (this is what is tripping in my house)? How can the fault be diagnosed? Surely there are wires runnng in walls,, under floorboards where we have rats etc which can only be checked by taking the plaster off the walls, lifting the floorboards? It's a nightmare! Thumbs up to video
Thanks mate, really helped, we had a heavy downpour and the outside light was causing the tripping, appliances back on, domestic life carries on. 👍
Very helpful video.Thank You.
Thanks for the video, very uncomplicated and easy to follow, thanks.
Brilliant demonstration 🙏
Thank you so much. You saved me as well. The dishwasher socket was really wet for some reason.
Great video and explanation. Electric back on! Thanks.
Thank you, managed to find the issue because of this video 👍🏼
Thank you
you saved me calling out for an electrician.
Thank you so much you saved me man, you deserve a follow
We had a similar problem a few months back. Things tripped once in a while and could not find a fault anywhere. Called our neighbour and friend round to check things for us who is a fully qualified electrician.
He checked absolutely everything including my workshop.
Eventually, he went outside to our metre and found the fault, one of the cables was not even secured.
He fixed the problem but asked us not to say anything as he could be fined for touching the metre.
The company that installed the metre was NorthernPower.
Not the first time I have heard about their shoddy workmanship.
You don't even have to be a fully qualified electrician to fit these meters.
They just go on a 2-day course and that's it, they are out the next day fitting them.
Fantastic! Thanks for all your advice! 🎸
Thank you for the video, extremely helpful 🤝🏾
Brilliant video solved it straight away after watching your video
thank for helping, all sorted now🙌🏻🌞🌼
Thank you very much I’ve followed these steps - it was a socket. but I can’t get my boiler back on 😩 on Christmas Day!! It’s friggin freezing! Reset doesn’t work 🤷♀️
JUST LIKED TO SAY THANKS YOU SAVED THE DAY. I CAME HOME AT MIDNIGHT TO FIND NO SOCKETS WERE WORKING. EVENTUALLY AFTER WATCHING YOUR VIDEO I FOUND THE CULPRIT. IT WAS THE COOKER. SO I WILL GET SOMEONE OUT TO LOOK AT THAT IN THE MORNING. I AM DISABLED AS WELL SO NEED THE ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT THAT IS USED VIA THE SOCKETS. ALL ARE BACK ON NOW.
THANKS AGAIN. YOU EXPLAINED IT VERY EASILY TO UNDERSTAND. 10/10 TO YOU

Well! Faced with Fuse Box tripping and not resetting, I watched this video, and within 15 minutes had isolated the problem, sort it, and was then able to supply hot water for the misses, and get the electric door open, so I could get off to my appointment.
Awesome! Glad we could help😁
Excellent video helped me resolve an issue in my home
Thank you very much for your explanation. With that, I've managed to solve the problem without calling an electrician. Thanks Mate
Thank you very much, was very helpful
Thank you for your video! I found the pool motor and cleaning system could be problem. Should I call electrician? And I wonder is there any other option I can try! Thank you
Hi there your advice helped me to find out what was causing the RCD button to trip it was the boiler button because as soon as I turned it the button tripped and went down.
My friend called me about a faulty oven that would trip when set to high. After investigating the wires in the oven fused together burnt. He told me the lights go out when we turn it on. After checking the socket I realized his landlord connected a 13A socket to the lighting ring circuit and stuck an oven on it.
Thank you for this
Thank you, it really helped
Thank you so much for this video
very useful, thank you very much.
Cheers pal, I had a power point under a leaking sink, god knows why the power point is under the bottle trap . I had it turned off, but thanks to your tip. I physically unplugged it and bing bang bush back in business for a call of duty session and the champions league final.
Super helpful!!!! Thanks!!
Can't thank you enough. Just had this issue with the sockets trip switch constantly going down. Unplugged everything, put it up, works fine now. You need to put a donate button on.
Brilliant video! Its a washing washine that trips in when we turn off the power to it. Why would that be?
Good advice for the home owner.
Many thanks for your informative video ❤
U top man , thanks mate is really helpful 👍
Thanks mate 🤝
thank you very much . very useful
thanks, excellent video. my new boiler that's been fitted recently shares all the house wall sockets kept switching the mains switch to off. british gas came out and went through what you just said and the fact fuse box needs upgrading
Thanks for the logical path to isolate tripping faults. Ours tripped twice within an hour last night, never happened before, but been raining for almost a month solid, so suspect one of the outside lights. If it happens again, I'll follow the steps to try to find the culprit.
Thanks for the advice..
Good video Martin
Rob
