Thank you for a great presentation. What was the selling price for this lovely sailboat?

Hi Leo, this lovely boat sold for US$150,000. Just goes to show you don't have to be a millionaire to find a perfect ocean cruising yacht. They are hard to find though, as many boats in this price range are full of issues and need work. As cruising yacht specialists, we couldn't have been prouder to represent Margot!

Prefer aluminum for northwest passage though. But very nice boat

Actually I have known several boats that did do the Northwest Passage and you would be surprised that they are not all Garcias.. although I love them! One was a Brolga 33 (GRP), amazingly small but tough enough for ice, one was a cat rigged 27' boat (GRP), which sailed across Baffin straight half a dozen times before doing the NWP, another was a custom French boat of about 45' that actually opted to spend the winter locked in the ice up in the Arctic Circle.. amazing boats out there!

Why sell such a boat after only one year of ownership though?

Thank you for your comment 😀 To answer your question, the demographics of cruising families has changed a lot these recent years, going from mostly retired couples who could cruise indefinitely, to much younger people who usually take a one to 3 years sabbatical. This is why so many really good cruising yachts are coming on the market with really recent upgrades and are a wonderful opportunity for someone to take advantage of this work and start their own adventures. These boats are definitely the ones to pick against 'marina' boats or boats that belong to people who are seldom out of the bay.

@@NautilusYachtManagement Thank you for the reply. Seems like a great deal for anyone looking for such a boat. A Moody 47 is often highlighted as one of the best cruisers boats ever build, and with all these upgrades and level of maintenance you for sure could not find that same model to the same price or anything near here in Europe.

I think the owners have decided to start a family & are going back to being land based for that phase of their lives.
