ive been dreaming about these boats for years .. they are one of the best live aboard boats made . so interesting that you guys found this yard .. hello from Sweden :D
Roberta,Ducca I’m absolutely envious of you, your tour over the 35 and the 40 shows how much the designers have thought of how and where to utilise storage space amongst the living space and how the accessories function and are utilised and stored, and Roberta you are absolutely glowing, love and best wishes from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺
Always glad to see Duca and Roberta and Oli happily on a boat. I liked the design of the emergency ladder and many of the storage areas. A very well thought out boat but I agree with Roberta, it will need a washing machine and dishwasher for when Oli arrives.
The Sirius 40 comes in five different keel combination's, 3 different drafts, centerboard and double keel. Price tag is $620,000USD. Love this episode, as your finishing off your aluminum hull, all the information you receive will be practical toward your decision.
I can’t remember the last time I was so impressed with the design of a sailboat. Especially newer ones. But the innovation and use of ALL the extra space is impressive. The designers are definitely fellow sailors. There were so many great ideas worth stealing for their own boat 😂.
Amazing how they optimize the usage of space…On top of that, it’s indeed a class apart…The desire for never ending Quality is quite obvious..Indeed German Quality, combined with innovative thinking and advanced engineering makes their boats outstanding.... Thanks for sharing this very valuable video…
Just looking at the oven you can get some where the door slide underneath the oven giving better-safer access in tight areas. I love the idea of siting in the saloon and being able to keep watch, great for longer passages especially in cold weather. great update 2x👍
Loved it all, but especially going sailing on a Sirius! Absolutely awesome boat with amazing visibility. So many great uses of available space and everything thought out to the last detail 🙂.
Maravilhoso.Muito.legal a empresa mostrar e navegar com este belo veleiro.O de vocês será muito especial.E logo o baby estará chegando(se já não chegou).Um abraço familia❤❤❤❤
So much thought has gone into innovation. Everything head been reimagined. It’s not all suited to my needs but I admire the commitment to thinking as if there is no box!
I think that a blend of the to types of woods, the darker and the lighter might actually look really nice if done well. Good luck on your ship build and building in general.
☝Ohhhhh, you were in Neustadt in the Ancora Marina and looked at yachts. I grew up here. I recognized the harbor immediately. I've been watching you on UA-cam for years. If I had known you were coming here, I would have liked to get an autograph from you. Too bad. 😀👍
Best use of interior space I have ever seen. I am a huge fan of Dutch boats designers and builders and I personally believe they are the best boats out there in many ways, however, their interior design sucks compared to what this builder has done with their practical design.Very impressive!
I really love the Deck Saloon model. In Brazil it's motor sailor boats. It was a long time without seeing your videos and I was surprised when I saw Roberta is pregnant. I'm happy to see you guys are doing well.
Hola brasileros! Abrazos!
Just bought our tickets for the 2024 Annapolis Sailboat show. Was hoping to see you guys again, but I am guessing with the baby coming due soon, you might not get there this year? If you can't just know that "The Big Guy" will be missing you and sending prayers your way for a healthy delivery.
@@OddLifeCrafting I figured you would not be able to make it this year, but wanted to know I was thinking of you and wishing you the best with the addition to the family. Very happy for you both. You will be great parents.
@@OddLifeCrafting I'm not surprised the Doctors will want to keep you close by and ground bound you are looking like a ripe 🍑... rest a lot and trips to the head all times. 😂🧙🏻♂️🤞🏻💙 For both of you there's going to be a newly built Windelo there ...in a beautiful blue. ua-cam.com/video/tnUgcw8kUh8/v-deo.htmlsi=IDFqLmmV0rTOAQ85
Ducca, all YT sailing channels with kids seem to eventually get a washing machine; it’s time to bow to the inevitable BEFORE you start furnishing the interior of your boat! IMHO, you should at least consider running plumbing and electric to a dedicated future space for one.
German grundlichkeit hardly ever disappoints. Very well build boat interior. Really nice little boats for holidays. To live on rather small in my opinion. The mainsheet Connection to the pedestal is a weak point I would rather see it at a more sturdy bimini roof. or a german sheeting system on the salon roof. But all that depends n how you use a boat. Would be interesting if they would start Building catamarans, given the quality of their interior they could winn clients from a lot of other builders.
Would you ask the Sirris Boat Builders why they chose to only do a partial skeg in their rudder design, instead of a full skeg that seems to be more protective of the rudder?
I have to agree it's a very beautiful sail boat. Lots of storage space. But seems like a nightmare to work on if things on the engine break. 40 foot surely much nicer than 35.
Thanks for your comment. Engine comes in as one of the last steps and is always easy to reach from all sides. If you like have a look to our latest short video, just about the engine access of the engine in the Sirius 40 DS on our UA-cam channel @SiriusYachts ua-cam.com/video/m_1_xdGZpUE/v-deo.htmlsi=IyFn7jQDKJgtzQxw

I’m interested in the utility of solid lifelines / railing. It looks great and looks safe but in a Mediterranean marina with boats on either side and a lot of pushing on the railing I’m wondering how long before it gets bent?
We had solid railing on our former boat for more than 2 years sailing for the whole period and it never got bent. It was really useful and we are also having it on the next boat ☺️
@@OddLifeCrafting You can also have composite railings ... Basalt or GRP ... They are rigid but they will bend and spring back if the wt. Of the boat pushes harder on them. They also do not corroded or clatter if things bump off them like metal. Though Al life lines can be welded to the deck so no leaks. 😁 Watched a guy who had a performance cruisers.. he had it built he had cork decking ...for insulation grip and durability .. he said more so than teak .. BTW look at a Moody 46 or 48 for layout ideas as well.🧙🏻♂️
14:30 That sharp corner behind Duca's head as he sits on bunk could cause a massive head injury , in a rough sea/ unexpected motion; disastrous way out in middle of nowhere

I can only imagine how much one of these cost$. Yeah. There is a lot of storage and convenience. But I have to wonder what would happen if it starts taking on water from a hole in an unknown location.
Duct forget steeling ideas, just get them to fabricate your interior, you can still install it just save yourself the time and getting it wrong factor. A quick laser scan of your interior is all it would take.
100% not. We just like their boats and asked them to pay a visit. It was great to have ideas for our new boat as we are gonna do the interior ourselves
Roberta, thinking of you as you approach your due date. Your life is about to change immeasurably, please take time and do drop of off UA-cam while you adjust and recover🥰
The Sirius seems to be focused on interior convenience, but at the expenses of weight. All that cabinetry weighs a huge amount, not what you want on a cruising boat. To construct it requires a huge amount of planned cutting, fine for mass production boats, but crazy to consider for a single hull. It's suited for a weekending marina based boat, only. Then the bilge (twin) they are a disaster for performance, that's why you see bilge keel boats sitting on moorings or on the mud, they are useless for crusing boats, that lesson was learnt 40 years ago. A swing keel Allures 45.9 will sit on the beach and sail very well. An Aluminium cruising boat needs a decent swing or fixed keel and a lightweight interior, preferably foam composite.
You are wrong in my opinion. This boat is very suitable to live on board as a couple. How much space do you want? Regarding the weight of the cabinetry: do you know how it is build? What materials? Most importantly I need to correct your view on bilge keels and „the lesson learnt 40 years ago“😂 Maybe it didn‘t come to your knowledge, but some unknown people crated something like witchcraft… it‘s called CFD and bilge keels work fine nowadays but psssst. do not tell anyone!
I just love the Sirius 40DS the perfect boat especially with those twin keels

Bilgekeel ...double keel ...Yatchs are very popular in highly tidal areas and for remote sailing... as you can dry out without tipping over ..
You get an awful lot of design and utility for that price
I'm not sure of that pricing. YW has a 2014 Sirius 35 for $642,000. You can also just buy a 2025 Moody 41 DS for $610,000.
