  • It's jobs, jobs, jobs in the It's a Drama house. Honestly, it's all we can talk about.
We've got a son who needs one, a daughter who's juggling one and a woman in Australia who's jumping over the tins of baked beans to avoid one...
In this week's episode, Brian and Liz discuss what is and isn't acceptable in a job interview, disagree about mardy men on building sites, and recall a few white lies they told to get where they needed to be...
    Enjoy!
Don't forget to leave us a review (PLEASE!!) and share this podcast with a friend! Sharing is caring, and your support means the world to us! ❤️
📕 Check out Liz's latest book, The Travel Bog Diaries! A hilarious memoir about surviving family travel for a year (on a teeny, tiny budget!!) See the book here!

Star jumps... oh no! lol! At my women's gym, when they do that in a class as a warm-up, every woman over a certain age runs off to the loo after 2 jumps 😂

Merry Christmas, health and safety are important, doesn't do the economy or business much good have buggered workers. ACC has been a truly wonderful thing for New Zealand.

I had a telephone job interview to transfer to New Plymouth . My manager let me use his office for the interview, he told my to make myself at home and left. During the interview, my friend went past the window and cracked up laughing, I was sitting back with my feet up on the bosses desk, I got the job.😅

Your story about your job interview, Brian, just gives me "Don't you want me" Human League vibes 😂

...and then your cocktail bar waitress interview, Liz - I hadn't got to that when I wrote my 1st comment 😂

I’d take Brian’s side. The risk outward the reward.

I am with you Brian on this. Sounds like Liz has never done a physical job. Doing star jumps is not part of the job description and taking food at a job interview is all wrong.

Honestly Liz, your attitude to health and safety is a bit scary. People being asked to lift weights that could mean they get injured but keep doing it just because "it's the job"? this can lead to life long pain, suffereing and inability to work. Putting 50kg cement into two bags is still 50kg of cement. And using old coal mines as a reson to not worry about safety? check the life expectancy of those coal workers.

If fitness is required the normal approach would be to get a pre-employment physical, and the weight limit is because too many people were hurting their backs, sorry Liz but it sounds like you have never done a physical job
