Thank you for allowing me to share the intimate details of such a sad and heartbreaking time. And for confirming that no matter who we are, where we live, what we look like, or how we spend our days:
Our hearts beat as one.
And now, a tribute to the woman who made it all seem so very easy.

We have a spirit a spirit that never leaves us, it's more than any man made religion it's raw do we find it in our happiest hour no but in our darkest hour when we feel most alone .
The strange thing is we are never alone and just as you chose a book to tell your story and that's poignant as because when we turn over a new page we can't see the old page anymore but we still remember it, as the book only makes sense that way.
So gone only in body is your mum for sure her spirit lives on in you 😊 l expect a bigger hug the next time we catch up.❤

I am blown away by how you have told the story of the mother and her Egyptian princess.
I am so grateful to you- and to Bri- for all your videos. But this incredible story has left me very amazed.
I always knew you were full of life, hilarious, and very very open and loving.
This has taken my adoration of you to an even higher level. You are so brave. So creative. So real. So honest.
I value what you have done for us all today...so very much.
Hearing you swear means a log to me as well, because it is so raw and real.
It is a real privilege hearing about your special Mum. I have some similar things to your Mum which are a real uncanny surprise fof me.
I am sure I will always remember how much she loved you and the things she said to you while in hospital. Her words are so wise and so caring and deep.
I love you Liz, and Brian. And I will think about the three of you in the coming weeks or months.
In very many ways your Mum lives on.
I know you will find very many ways to help her to still be seen, heard, remembered, spoken of and honoured every day till the next chapter begins.
I hope you are touched by how Maori people show us their unsurpassable expertise in tangihanga, manaakitanga, whanau support, and so on, as you continue your journey with all the people you love and who love you.
I know the people here will forever embrace you in their love. I myself feel very deeply enriched by the Maori and Pacific people around me. I think it is a special opportunity we are lucky to experience along with the natural beauty and native wildlife here.

I don't often write my name so it is really special that you wrote it.
I really love this country we belong to. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here. I have sometimes thought I wouldn't want to ever live without tui and piwakawaka in my life. Or waxeyes or native trees, or our reverence and honour of our ANZACs, or our love of the land, or our reputation in the world, and the friendly people I come across every day. And the language and tikanga woven through everything.
Kindness and kotahitanga. We can do this.

Oh Liz I feel terrible that I haven't watched your channel for a while. I always end up catching up by binge watching but in this case time matters. Your journey is so similar to mine that my tears can not stop. I lost mum on Boxing day 3 and a half years ago from cancer and thirteen months later dad unexpectedly but peacefully passed away in his sleep. Mum only had a few months with us after her diagnosis. She loved Christmas, decorating the tree while complaining about the lights being uneven, making mince tarts and brandy balls. She wasn't able to do what she normally would so I stepped in and did it without a thought. By the end of Christmas day we were all tired. It was my turn to sleep with mum and she just couldn't sleep and was reaching her hands up to the ceiling and mumbling. I didn't get any sleep and dad came in at 8am so I could have a few hours sleep. When I got up I was furious that my sister, brother in law, and my dad were all watching a kids' movie, and no one had stayed with mum. I went to sit with her and noticed she was cold and her pulse weak. I called dad out to tell him and he said it's probably nothing I'll check on her soon. I stayed with mum and it was 9:15pm when everyone realised she was leaving us. She looked at me one last time and I knew she was checking if I'd be okay if she went and I nodded and said yes mum you can go. That was when I prayed for her as her soul made it's way to heaven. My sister got upset because mum only looked to Dad and I for permission. Giving her the permission to go was the hardest thing I've ever said. There have been hundreds of times when I think I must tell mum about that, or I want to ask her opinion and it hits home that I'll never be able to ask my parents for their advice etc. Then I realise that I knew them so well and that I already know what they would say. Liz, Brian and to your extended family you are in my prayers. Liz you will always have a part of your mum in your heart as you go through life, talk to her like she is sitting next to you and keep her alive for future generations by passing down the video of your Mum's incredible journey that you wrote so elegantly. Most of all know that many people are by your side as you carry on grieving because when one is weak the tribe carries them. Sending you both my love. Amy XOXOX.

Oh Liz, I'm so sorry for your pain, and I'm sorry for not responding earlier. I couldn't think of what to say that would sound right, and now the only thing I can think of is that my heart feels full for your love of your mother, and at the same time, broken, for what you've lost. The positive thing (yeah, I know, small positive amongst so many negatives 😢) is that you had that love, and one day those memories will come without tears (12 years after my beloved dad died, I still start crying uncontrollably at some songs, and have to pull over, but not so often now - happiness in memories is more frequent). I send you my heart and tears and whatever will help you - I know it sounds odd, but I think of you often because I do feel your pain. You never really stop being a child - I can't understand anyone who says they feel like an adult. My love, always - no matter your age, it feels so empty to be an orphan 😢❤
