Great video! I really enjoy the structural aspects of building a deck, especially on projects as advanced as yours. I'd like to see more of that detail; from your helical footings up.
Learning so much! We are in the process of buying our house that was built in the late 60s and one of the first things is to replace our deteriorating small deck. We have a special needs 3 year old son who will need a ramp instead of steps. Do you have any videos on installing a ramp?
So glad to hear you are learning and it will hopefully help with your reno!! Unfortunately we haven’t done any ramps yet, hopefully you can find some other helpful videos on UA-cam to guide you through the process!!
@@THEpremieroutdoor I watched a variety of youtubers and got so overwhelmed. Your guys’ humor was what hooked me. You made it fun to learn. And that knowledge is locked in for justice! At least I’ll know how to tackle everything else except the ramp🤣 i may have to call in a professional if it gets too difficult. But thanks to you guys we’ll be able to make sure it’s done properly!
@@THEpremieroutdoor Hope you don’t mind joke here and there! 👀 Love your work and everything you got going on business wise. The entire concept! I follow for a while and can see how its evolving and am sure its not easy. As a one man operation here, I can just look up toward everything and search for inspiration. On top of everything I also like the humor (sarcasm) you project. Only complain I got is you should let Jose talk more. Am sure he is just waiting for the opportunity. LOL All the best POL Crew
Hi. I have a question. @9:30, I noticed you ran the screws past flush. I know I would do it if I had to plan boards or wanted to plug/putty holes. I was curious why? You usually have a good reason... Thanks in advance. I enjoy the videos.
What brand screws were you using . This new treated wood seems to have an issue with some type of de k screws . Did you leave the 6x6 lose at the bottom / just tired them into the skirting framing ? Nothing more ?
We have been using power pro screws for all purpose type applications, but usually go back and load it up with nails as well…we’ll tie the 6x6s into the lower framing and if needed we’ll brace the bottom back into the deck
How do you decide between dropping the posts into your framing and connecting it to that, as opposed to a post base bracket set on top that I've seen you do before?
We’ll only do a post base bracket when the post will be tied into something above it, like for a roof. If it’s just a privacy wall with nothing attached to the top of the post we go through the frame to gain that lateral stability
Your how-to portions are great... helps planning my deck. A lot of your decks including full skirting which I really love the look of. But how do you keep "critters" like bunnys, skunks, rodents from taking up residency under these decks and I am assuming somewhere you have to put an "access" panel?
Thanks man!! Persistent animals will find a way in no matter what, but we do always put in access panels. But with that said, we've never had a problem with it!
Great idea on setting those 6x6’s with screwing the temp boards to the posts! Wish I saw this on my last project, even though they were only 4x4’s haha
Building a deck with my old man (72) who is an experienced boat carpenter so many skills are transferable, but decking is new. When we are working and planning he asks “is this the way the locked in for justice guys do it?”
This is one of the best comments I’ve ever received, we need to get you and your dad some t shirts!! Reply with your email and we’ll send you guys some swag!
Great video and great tips. I find the background blur that is added in a little distracting. I don't know much about video editing but it looks like an editing effect not an actual shallow depth of field from the lens. just find it a bit distracting because it doesn't always work perfectly. Doesn't seem to be an issue in your other videos.
Thanks a lot!! Appreciate the feedback, we’re always trying new equipment to get good quality and ease of use on a jobsite so there are always some kinks to work out!! It’s a digital field of depth setting and it may have been too aggressive on this one
Yes! More vids like this where you slow down and share your technique and methodology closely - outstanding
Glad you liked it!! We’ll keep them coming!
Perfect timing cause I’m almost up to this part of my deck!!! Great video as always!
It was destiny!!! Just never forget to lock it in for justice and you’ll be golden!
@@THEpremieroutdoor lmao hell yes 😂
been pausing videos for years trying to gain this information. started implementing some of these on builds of my own.
We’ll definitely have to start doing some more in depth videos like this!
You always rocks I am always learning from you and now I’m running my successful business thank you
That’s amazing!! Glad to hear our videos have helped you out!
Great education on how to!!!
And also how lucky are these people to get what will be a master piece
Glad you liked the in depth style on this one!! They are super deserving, we can’t wait to show the whole build!
When I first saw your videos I though you were a fast talking Jersey guy. You do great work, I was wrong, keep up the good work!!
I do talk faster than I think and I’m from New Jersey so you were right 🤣 I’m glad to hear that has grown on you though!!
Loving this... From Trinidad and Tobago.
That’s awesome!! It’s always crazy to hear how far these videos can reach!

I really appreciate that!! We’ll have to start doing some more detailed videos like this on smaller aspects of the build as we go
Great stuff. Love the tips and tricks to your amazing trade
So happy to hear that my friend!!
Awesome work!
Thank you!!
This is cool and nice to see
Appreciate it bro!!
I feel like those extra “locked in for justice” comments were for me!! ❤❤❤
I dedicate this comment to pat and scooter. POL OG’s
They were absolutely for you!!

Hey, did I somehow miss the end of the deck by the golf course?
You guys are amazing what u do
Nope, final walkthrough of that one will be up next Sunday!!

That’s just to help it grab better but this area will all be covered with trim!
I would love to see how you flash up against the house. Thanks!
We’ll show a little bit of that in the full video but we’ll have to do a stand-alone video on a ledger deep dive soon!

what camera is this. amazing quality!
Believe it or not, we are now filming on an iPhone 14 pro

How do you do privacy wall and skirting on an elevated deck that is 8’ high?
How do you decide between dropping the posts into your framing and connecting it to that, as opposed to a post base bracket set on top that I've seen you do before?

You should be fine with 4x4s, I just like to go overboard when I can lol 😂
Did you have the full crew for this or was this extra curricular?
Oh yeah, full crew running and gunning on this one!!

How about a deep dive on the Titanic?
Tickets will probably be discounted so maybe I can afford it!
The nailing technique where you aim toward your abdomen is....well, you be the judge @13:47.
That was SKETCHY.
NOT THE PROPER WAY TO USE A NAIL GUN.
always great video's but why are you saying my name?
Because you’re the best Roger!
Terrible camera work. Camera always focuses closeup on person speaking but NOT what he is pointing to. Cannot see overall configuration of anything.
We will keep this in mind! Thanks!
The locked in for justice got super annoying. I get it but editing needed to catch that. Otherwise good video
I will admit the amount of times I said locked in for justice may have been excessive and for that I do apologize 😅
@@THEpremieroutdoor lol all good. Looking forward to watching the next one! Looking good
There is never enough locked in for justice. Never.
Whoaaaaa, kawabunga dudes. Totally insane. I paid for the whole seat but I only need the edge
Hahaha I love it! Appreciate the support my friend 👊
