Very good tutorial video! I'm getting ready to replace my rear shocks on my 2005 Texas Edition Tian Crew Cab with under 47K miles. As you can tell, I don't drive it often and wanted to sell it many times; however, a truck is so handy to have in those few occasions where you need to carry things. I'm the original owner, and it in good condition. I may sell or trade it in for a car for our daughter who is starting to drive.
One of my upper bolts was a MOTHER to get out! Heat, pb blaster, breaker bar, impact, I threw everything at it. I think it took me a good two hours to get that thing out!!
How would you rate the Bilsteins specifically compared to the stock Ranchos on a pro4x? Do they affect ride height at all? They seem to be very highly regarded in the reviews..
I feel that the Bilsteins are A lot better shocked in the OEM ranches. They last longer and provide a smoother quality ride. I run Bilstein 5100s on my wife’s 2005 Xterra and they’re phenomenal
Another great crisp and to the point video Aaron, Thank you! Question: Will the bilstein 5100’s fit a non lifted Titan. Reading the description it notes they are for lifted trucks & SUV’s.
Tenneco. they are the worlds largest manufacture of shocks. they oem shocks for most major brands and a lot of aftermarket shocks as well. monroe, gabriel, rancho ect.

I recommend you use lithium grease on the shafts of the bolts. It will help with squeaking.
How many duga dugas should I torque it down too
do you have to buy certain shocks and struts if your truck is lifted?
That was a good video, I too like the KYB shocks and struts, I pay a little more for a great quality shock in KYB, they haven't let me down yet
What do you recommend for front struts for that truck I have an 05 Nissan Titan and I need front struts

wow! im glad i didnt run into that. did you install without removing wheels?
It was pretty corroded. No I left the wheels on. No messing with a jack that way.
I had a similar issue on the front.
Whatever Nissan uses as a thread lock was JB weld and red loc-tites illegitimate child.
Spray the PB blaster a couple days in advance to work its way in & much easier to loosen.
Thanks man, easy enough 👍
Do I need to jack up the truck to replace the rear shocks? Thanks.
No you do not
@@AaronHinesAuto Awesome! Thanks
"What is the torque spec for the mounting bolts?" - Me
"BrRrRrRrRrRRRRRRR!!!!" - Aaron Hines
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can you use fox shock on a 05 Nissan Titan
Hey Aaron I was wondering how big of a compressor you have to power up your impact
We use a 120 gallon in our shop
@@AaronHinesAuto are there torque specs for the mounting hardware for the shocks?
@@xengher1312 looks like 5 ugga duggas and it's good

Who makes the factory OEM shocks/struts? Other than Rancho for the Pro 4x

@@AaronHinesAuto ok I just was guessing KYB but guys not. Thanks 👍
Get the Bilstein 5100s. You will be happy if you do.
Are there torque specs for those bolts?
As tight as you can
Thank you
Yeah my top bolt wouldn’t come out... even with an impact... 😞
Dont buy Icon shocks they both blew out under 100k miles
