Nissan Titan Cv Axle Replacement (tips and tricks)

- In this video I show the steps and procedures necessary to replace a CV halfshaft or CV axle in a Nissan titan years 2004 through 2015. Overall the job is not too complicated however there are a few tips and tricks along the way that I show that make the job a whole lot easier. It’s not necessary to remove the lower ball joint when doing this job. The upper ball joint must be separated from the spindle. In this video we are working on a 2009 Nissan titan with over 200,000 miles. The CV axle boot broke and has allowed a lot of grease to escape from the axle which wore the axle joint out. Below are links to parts and tools are used during this video. Thank you for watching if you have any questions or comments feel free to leave something in the comment section. Thank you

Thanks so much you saved my account!
@Abel Emiliano No problem :)
Just finished up the install of both sides cv axle and new struts with 2" leveler kit same as what was already on it. When I got everything all done and started driving it started popping real bad forward and reverse. I only moved it about 20 feet. Noticed the sway bar link was popped out on the passenger side. Which did happen until I moved it. Any ideas what would cause this. All parts are new. Thanks
I have a 2017 Nissan versa about to make changes to my car
Yeah I have a nissan armada.... same truck😏
AAron, why my 2009 nissan Armada feels slow, it stays in 1st and 2nd gear for quite a long time, and some times I feel that it doesn't go to 5th gear, any idea?
Can you describe the noise you get when this fails? Mine is a rythmic tapping/thumping under the floorboard when I turn left. It gets louder when I go faster but it can be felt at slower speeds (40mph) on smooth roads.
what kinda headlights are those, are they bright enough?
The round metal that connects the CV axle to the front differential. What doest it mean if the driver side has a a small wiggle play? Seems my passenger has no play than driver's side.
Was working on an 04 and the flange that the CV axle bolts too separated from the front diff/transaxle assembly! Literally fell out when I loosened the ball joints.
That's what I'm dealing with right now on the drivers side.
Also I was able to change almost the whole front suspension thanks to your vids so thank alot for that my man. More than u no, it's very appreciated 👍. Question, there's a rattling sound that I can seem to get rid of coming from underneath . I changed and tightened everything that is recommended but no luck and a squeak when hitting bumps. Any idea on what it could be that's not the obvious thing to check ?
Dude me too. Driving me crazy.
Is the transaxle the same for a 4x4
Bro I have an 04 and when I went to take the axel out the while thing came out with out removing inner bolts so I have a spline on both sides. Is that normal ? Spline? Not sure if that's what it's called
How long it takes to do both sides and total cost?
💯💪🏼
Nice video so my question is I think this is what is wrong with my '08 Titan. When driving if I'm going straight it's totally fine or turning to the right is totally fine it's whenever I steer just a little to the left and I hear a pretty loud humming noise...is this my issue?
Hub bearings
Does it come with the seal? Mine is dumping fluid out of the axle where it connects to the diff and I need to do the Seals
No it does not come with the seals those are sold separately. Make sure to check out the play in the axle the bearings could be bad and that’s what may have destroyed the seal
Aaron, I've been binge watching your Titan videos. I'm considering buying a 1st gen (2006) Titan next week. Would you recommend someone buying one? It seems that the maintenance and repairs are pretty straight forward. Lots of mixed reviews online about their dependability. What's your personal opinion?
These trucks are extremely dependable we still have a few first GEN Titans in our fleet at work. Parts are cheap and they rarely ever need work. Two of the Titans in our fleet have 240,000 miles and are still going strong. If I had a budget under 10,000 I would buy one in a minute. Only downside to these trucks is they don’t get great gas mileage. But they have plenty of power.
@@AaronHinesAuto thank you so much for your reply and all the videos you've done. Your opinion is appreciated greatly and I'm glad to know that if i need to tackle some of these projects, I'll have your tutorials on hand to help me. You're a great asset to the DIY community.
@@AaronHinesAuto I have a question, I just had new cv axles put on my 06 Nissan Titan se 4x4 and now I have a very bouncy ride. Any suggestions? Thanks.
So my Titan is leaking from the diff to cv axle what part do I need to replace?? I can’t find any info on it
cv axle seal
241k miles! Impressive. How many issues have you had overall? Great video.
I’ve got 250k.
