Incredible!! Most perfect and wonderful version of this song since CSN&Y. WOW. Thankyou Heather Maloney and Darlingside for pouring your hearts and souls into this outstanding performance.
I love the way this stays faithful to Joni's earlier darker version, with her background vocals by the boys, but it has the upbeat rock and roll feel of the CSNY version too. Fabulous all around. This song was the soundtrack to 1,200 people getting arrested at Fairy Creek trying to save a rainforest from destruction in 2020. We are having a festival next month at some land we bought to protect, called WoodsTalk.
gave me chills... I love your work... Darlingside is a very special band. Heather, you have an amazing voice. I hope to hear both of you continue to do great work in the future.
To think that we've watched you grow over the past years and evolve into the great singer/performer you are today is amazing. From the Purple Fiddle in Thomas, WV to watching this video and express the lyrics and music the way you do, well, look out world bc here comes Heather Maloney! One of your best, Heather. Love ya. Dan and Joyce.
Joni, CSN, Eva, Heather, Richard. Good harvest. Bunch of amazing talent. This is probably my favorite of the versions. Watching her faces is enthralling. She's very very expressive but I don't speak fluent Heather. Notice the guitar player on her left and the way he looks at her when she goes into that final verse. He looks gobsmacked. This is just wonderful.
This here is Doing It Right -- reverently right, when daring to cover such a powerful and iconic work. Absolutely golden harmonies, and Mme Maloney captures the best of Mme Mitchell's voice styling within her own vibrant delivery. Avec saudade. And for the banjoists skulking beyond the polite instrumental pale, this is clawhammer-dying-and-going-to-comp-heaven. I glowingly second Graham Nash's encomium: "Delicious, really excellent... I'm certain that Joni would enjoy this wonderfully heartfelt version of her classic song." Many cheers!singout.org/2014/04/08/heather-maloney-darlingside-woodstock/
It’s appropriate that she did a cover of this song. The Venn Diagram of the feelings I get from Heather Maloney’s music and the feelings I get from Joni Mitchell’s music has so much overlap.
The first vocalist that has ever done justice to a Joni Mitchell song !! Fantastic !!
This is a wonderful, true rendition of Woodstock that any of us from that era would be proud to celebrate- beautiful music everyone, thanks.
Just discovered her now! Glad I did!
Those high notes are just gorgeous.
Wow❤…just love you guys keeping the song alive for future generations.
In the Groove. Bam!
It's as if Joni joined CSNY. Heather Malony is the angel call for a new generation.
If you can see her in person, you will see that you are exactly right. She is a delight to behold. A voice the likes I have not heard in a generation.
Timeless song. Unbelievable harmony with Heather and Darlingside. This fills my soul.
I was searching Joni Covers and it's rare you get someone who can find the groove .. This band can ...
