I did feel like Steven was doing a nod to that performance lol, it's a bit legendary for "Arriving Somewhere" DVD fans. No broken string this time, but the same excited atmosphere. That Chicago crowd was A+
Awesome band. Glad you got your chance to see them. I am happy that they are out playing again for all the new fans that have discovered them since 2012. I was sad that they decided to stop just as they were reaching momentum. I am happy to see them again on 9/20 in Chicago.
my dad is a huge porcupine tree fan and i have been listening to porcupine tree my whole entire life. i got into actually listening to them when i was in high school and just figured id never get to see them live. But now my dad and i are getting to see them in denver next week im so fucking stoked i never thought this would happen
I went with my dad to their stop in Boston, he wasn’t really familiar with them and the show ended up making a fan out of him. Was a once-in-a-lifetime night!
I'm glad they got a guitarist whose hair resembles John Wesley's. It' makes it feel a little better, even though I miss him being there. So great that they toured again! Thanks for posting.
The reception the band got when they first appeared on stage was absolutely massive and sustained for what felt like a long time. It was beautiful to sense how much they are loved and were missed. Thank you PT, and especially Steven, for coming back. A great show exactly how it was with all the imperfections. Wouldn't have missed the show for anything.
San Francisco on the 28th! Looks like an amazing set list! We've been on a Gavin binge -- King Crimson, Pineapple Thief and now PT. Guessing this will be the most epoch show of them all!
From the sound of all that clapping you were better off not being up there...its been since incident tour chicago since ive seen em and it was gen admission for floor so i was left of center front row...crowd respected the perfect mix and didnt ruin it...i hope sept 20th has an epic set list cuz this nights list was great.

Like you I'm so happy to see them next november 2nd in Paris. I discovered Steven Wilson and then Porcupine tree 4 years ago. I was so disappointed that I could not see them in live after their separation in 2009. Of course I've seen SW in Caen, Normandie during his tour and that was on the top (I prefer him in live that in their LP) but I always thinked that Porcupine Tree could be upper. And a miracle appeared. They are coming back. What a chance for me and their others fans!

I was there, my Grandfather came from Ukraine. I was wearing a Ukraine soccer tee shirt, only one there with anything Ukrainian. It was an amazing concert, they were funny with a few mishaps and problems as it was the 1st concert for them in 12 years.

@@wardanmm wow, did the bass "ate" the other instruments? Or do they all sound good within everything? I ask to know where to locate me when they come to Chile :D
Front is always about view more than sound. Sounded good to me and better than many shows from Front. All about personal taste. I was there to see/hear the guitars. SW is a master for sure and anywhere u get to see him as he moves around.

Even after all these years, Gavin is still playing fills to make Richard laugh. 2:40 is such a wholesome moment.
Really a pleasure to see the guys getting off on each other's riffs. I can't wait to see them in NYC.
yess i love these reactions :')
ABSOLUTELY!!
I love these moments. These small moments make PT the best!
He does the same thing to Bruce when he plays with The Pineapple Thief
I never thought in a million years I'd be able to see these guys live, I'm so happy I got to. 3 hour setlist, just amazing.

The Ziggo Dome show in Amsterdam was filmed, so I think we can expect a dvd in the future.
Why was Colin Edwin sacked? His fretless bass was such a big part of their sound.
I don’t think he was sacked - he has his own project but also never really bothered to stay in touch whereas the others did …
