Thanks for sharing. Two quick things: 1. The car has an air suspension off mode. It's under the suspension options... The air suspension will not adjust as long as the car is not moving. Extra tip... If the car door is open it will not lower the suspension to prevent damage. 2. Also best place to put the jack stand is at the pinch weld as well... This guarantees the body won't move down even if the air suspension activates... The body can still lower on you if you put it on the suspension arm.
In asia we do an air pump and cover the top with any clothe from the openning to push down the remaining oil inside out down and vaseline will do the job to lube the oil filter👍 I haven’t seen one do an air pump push on top in any vidoes in you tube. You can add that next time and I won’t charge you for the copy right😀
Thanks for the video. I have an irrelevant question. I have an MDX Type S as well and a set of 19x8.5x55 rims sitting around which I could use for winter time. Would they clear the brembo brakes? I see that you have the 2020 MDX OEM wheels. How far is the calliper from the spokes?
I've changed my own oil for over 50 years. At this point it is to the dealer every 4,000 for the S oil change. You can't change it enough on turbo's.....especially 0 weight oils.
Any idea why the service code "B" showed up after resetting all items? It happened with my MDX too (Oil changed and tyres rotated at ~7k miles) and the dealership guys were not able to figure out why.
My RDX does that too. All Honda & Acura vehicles alternate between Service A and B. "B" is the next service to be performed. The "Maintenance Due Soon" message would appear when the oil life is at 15%. Hope that helps!
I believe we do have that, but I hate going to the dealership and enjoy doing maintenance myself. Plus these videos typically pay for the job times 10 😁
I normally aim for 5k. I don't mind changing early for the additional peace of mind. This one went a tad further than I wanted however I bet the Blackstone test would come back fine. May run one next time and I'll film the results to start the convo
Great video , Perfect ! Just got a 23 MDX A-spec and will be doing first oil change soon Thanks for posting. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for the kind words! Enjoy it!
Doesn’t Acura provide you with free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 24k miles like in the US?
Not sure, I take pride in doing it myself and hate waiting at a dealership
@Marximarks Unfortunately not in Canada , it was only a US offer. I Inquired when I was purchasing and the dealer said no was US only.

@@BtwilliasGarage no problem thanks for sharing the video.
Great video and nice car
A corona for lubrication...what a great idea!
It's required
Fantastic video my friend!!
Appreciate that! 🍻

Hey! There is only a quarter inch of space between the spokes on the 21s and the caliper. You will be pushing it to get them to fit, but worth a try.

what part number for the oil filter ?
A working link is in the description for the OEM
Pro it’s always best to use Honda’s oil for their engines. Lovely SUV
Thank you!
It’s a new car, I thought you get complimentary service such as oil change, wheel alignment, and so on for 2 years?
I believe we do have that, but I hate going to the dealership and enjoy doing maintenance myself. Plus these videos typically pay for the job times 10 😁
i drink a beer also while oil is draining 🤣
I'm a mechanic. Change your oil every 5,000 miles or 6 months -- especially since this is a turbocharged engine. Trust me.

@@iamthedutchbro Awesome vehicle until the "entertainment" center cuts out. New connectors will be supplied from Acura. Brakes are the bomb.
So there is no need to remove any panels underneath for the entire process?
