- Mod Nationals 2021 is one for the books. The track was hot, the air was cool, and guys were breaking their PB’s and records all weekend. Including Zach who reset the cobra platform micro record for the fastest stock motor blower/stick shift car. Started with 9’s and now he’s gunning for 8’s!
Crazy to see what the Terminators are capable of. They're so ahead of their time.

That's awesome. I'm building a no prep foxbody for stick shift class and you are definitely giving me motivation. Everyone tells me to Ls swap it but I want to do sbf and surprise the world and stay Ford powered

The problem is everyone usually listens to "everyone" when they give that stupid ass advice. That is one of the reasons you see so many ls swapped foxes. Bunch of blind sheep following each other. There is no need for a gm motor in a Ford none whatsoever. Plenty of ways to go fast with Ford power without spending a ton against popular belief. Go with a 351 and don't look back bro. If you want mod motor you could do coyote, gt500 or terminator motors any of those will get a fox hauling ass. The absolute last thing you should do is an ls swap. If you wanna build ls get a gm vehicle don't ruin a mustang.

I've got a stock 03 terminator, but it's SO hard to resist modding it out when you see videos like this. For just a few grand, you can turn a terminator into a supercar.
Fantastic job driving, and love that terminator in red. Mine is in black (the most common, but it's still fresh only 12.8k miles, clean title and a garage queen)
A lot of fun to just add bolt-ons and port the blower/tune. I actually preferred that over upgrading to a twin screw. It had great power but you don't have to add bigger injectors/fuel pump.
You'll get around 500rwhp and the Eaton sounds amazing.

Stick shift ftw!!!! Non drivers need not apply. That is why everyone goes auto because the stick shift thing isn't for everyone. Not many people can actually drive good enough to run a number with a stick.

It Def separates the men from the boys. Anyone can drive a stick shift from point a to b but very few can really DRIVE a stick if you get what I'm saying. Driver mod ftw

Question, why do you guys keep the passenger seat in the car?
The seat itself is so light it really would not equate to any gained et/mph for the car. The bracket and seat together may weigh 12-13lbs at most.

This video has me stoked for 2023! 8’s on a stock motor 4.6 Terminator is ridiculous! RPM transmissions is currently building me a straight cut dog engagement lvl7 tr6060.
Last piece to the puzzle will be a 15” conversion and removing some weight. If I’m not in the low - mid 9’s (boost only) by summer, then either my car blew or I can’t drive 😂 No excuses.

@@2ndshiftracing I will definitely stay in touch man. Most guys with manual hellcats give up because they eat through tr6060’s and move to TH400’s. Even the lvl 7 rpm trans won’t hold for big power. It’s just too much torque and too much weight for the syncros.
I believe there are only 3 other hellcat in the US that are running the straight cut gears. It’s supposedly good for 2000hp. Hopefully that combined with my diff brace, mantic triple disk, and DSS axles it should be pretty damn stout. It should have be down to 3900lbs with me in it by summer, which is light for a challenger.
I should have the trans by mid-February. RPM does a core exchange so it super convenient. I’m so damn excited.

How’s the power band feel? Is it pretty linear? Good low end torque? I’m asking since I’m planning to put a very similar motor setup in my GT drift car.

Yes! Allen Garrett in Alaska ran 8’s with the stock ECU. The limitations is the processing speed when up in the higher RPM range. (7000+) so holley is needed pass that.
@@2ndshiftracing Thank You. I have an 04 Cobra on E85, built short block but stock heads and cams. It went 9.80’s at 140 mph in the 1/4 mile with a 2.3 Whipple. I do run a Th400 and sra. I’m bored of the car and want to put a T56 Magnum into the car. I still have stock ecu with SCT software. I’m not looking to break records just the fun factor of the stick and get the car to still run in the 9’s but with a stick

Our other cobra has 18psi and 250 shot on stock head bolts. 140,000 miles and still running low 9’s
Thanks for the advice, my car has a kenne bell mammoth on it, I only make a little more than 600 whp on 93 octane, every one keeps saying that the head bolts will allow the heads to lift if I push it anymore, it sounds like it's more of getting the tune right than just raw power numbers.

man I wish I didn't live in Washington state where everyone sucks at tuning these cars. I can't even get a good tune on my car which is basically the same setup besides I have a gen4 2.9.
This car is street tuned via Email. You can do it.
@@2ndshiftracing who tuned it? Obviously a really good tuner to make the stock motor last at that power level
@@michealortiz3350 it has a Holley and was a combination of Zach and Avid speed. Before the stock ECU was tuned by a guy James Henson. Out of Birmingham, AL

What’s the maximum whp stock bottom end can handle ? I though with ARPs headstud and billet oil pump gears around 750ish with race fuel ⛽️

@SVT_Baker made 1400 on his stock bottom end with twin turbos. He went 8.26 at 170+
So it’ll handle a 900-1000 comfortably with a good tune, good fuel, and good maintenance.
Yes they'll Def take more than 750 even with a blower setup. On turbo setups they can do 1000+ pretty easy. With a blower you might have 900 wheel but the engine is seeing over 1000 wheel hp worth of stress because of the power it takes to spin the blower if that makes sense. That is why you can usually push higher numbers out of turbo setups. It depends on the overall setup but you can go well north of 750 and be good these things are stout I mean they have manly h beam rods stock for gods sake and an iron block lol.
Would ask the setup but i know it’s probably a secret
100% stock motor with a 3.0 whipple, RTX 1200 clutch, T-56 magnum, Fore Fuel system, Holley EFI, and good SRA suspension.
