- SIRUI 35mm t2.9 1.6x Full Frame ANAMORPHIC Lens In-Depth Review With Cinematic Samples
Sirui 35mm t2.9 1.6x anamorphic lens is a wide-angle beast with a lot of character! With Sony a7s III full frame camera with 16:9 video recording it will give you a super wide aspect ratio of 2.8:1 that can be then cropped in to CinemaScope 2.35:1. Sirui 35mm t2.9 1.6x anamorphic comes in different camera mounts, has geared focus and aperture rings, 82mm filter thread size, but too far minimum focusing distance, but in this video I'll show you how to cope with it and get almost macro shots with Sirui 35mm t2.9 1.6x lens. In this Sirui Anamorphic 35mm t2.9 1.6x full frame lens review you’ll get info about: kit and features, build quality, how to properly desqueeze the image, squeeze factor of Sirui 35mm t2.9 1.6x anamorphic lens, sharpness distortion (spoiler alert - it's massive) and vignette, a lot of Sirui 35mm t2.9 1.6x anamorphic sample footage - a mini documentary shot completely on Sirui Anamorphic 35mm t2.9 1.6x and Sirui Anamorphic 100mm t2.9 1.6x lenses and Sony a7s III in 4K and S-log3, anamorphic lens flares and samples, focus breathing, chromatic aberrations, Sirui 35mm t2.9 1.6x anamorphic oval bokeh and more! Great review. I really appreciate your tips on the Active IS focal length settings and showing the difference 🙂
Thanks mate)) stay tuned!
4:37 the power of this 35mm anamophic lens 😍😍 Great Picture ❤
King. 🙌🏻❤️🔥
Thank you))
Thanks for the detailed review! How did you change the color of the flare at 11:02?
Thanks! That’s a tool called Hue vs Hue in FCP X (but it’s available in basically any editing software). You just pick the color and change it’s hue. You can find it in my FCP X color grading tutorial in this playlist - ua-cam.com/play/PLwCnr0aTDN3kqXjhbtcEIb47KvIOeOMSs.html
Hi, very good work! Please tell me if You could pick two focal lengths which one would you choose?
Hi! Thanks! I actually said it in the video itself)) I'd go for 35mm and 75mm combo
Great job
Thanks mate) stay tuned)
can you stack diotper infront of ND Filter or the other whise? ho do you use both?
You can stack a diopter on top of an ND filter, but not vice-versa
You can get ibis stabilizer active on with a Sirius lens? I thought you can’t do that with manual lenses
You can) just dial in the focal length manually
I need it to be extremely sharp because as soo as you add nd filter or ir cut filters in stack sharpness goes away! Glad that is not soft to begin with it would make 4k footage looks like 720p lol
It is always better to have it sharp to have details captured as much as you can!
Sounds like bad nd filter?
Not mine i have k&f vr nd filter 3 to 10 stops. I don't know what they did but it doesn't have any color cast or detail loss. I was very sceptical towards variable nd filter. Tested some up to $500 and this $59 nd filter is always with me. Anyway i was talking about when in professional environment when filmakers stack sqaure nd filters there is always some loss in contrast and details even from $500 ones. As soon as you add a second nd filter and gradual filter or ir cu filter boom softness occurs. It's just physics. 😁
Can we use these lenses with PL or EF mount camera. And solotion for it?
Unfortunately no
Did you use this lens with A6600 or Sony 7C? I saw different bodies in this video thanks
no, the a6300 was only to showcase the size) All the actual shots are from Sony a7s III
@@NOlimitsON Cheers mate
Could you let me know why Saturn costs less than this one (Venus), even though Saturn is the newer version
I don’t know) but I’d pick the Saturn 100%
What do you mean by 160% horizontally? Don't quite understand.
When you apply changes to the scale (to properly desqueeze the image) you set the horizontal scale to 160% (for 1.6x anamorphic lens)
how do you calculate focal length for the steadyshot?
Focal length divided by the squeeze factor (1.6 in this case)
@@NOlimitsON so, for example, 100/1.6 = 62.5. why did you choose 75 instead of 60 or 70?
If you had to pick just one lense out of all the line up?
50mm t2.9 1.6x
does it have lumix L mount
I say about mounts in the video - watch it attentively 😎
If this is the predecessor to the Saturn why does it cost more?
This is
"You'll need a monitor to properly view your image". On Sony yes, you'll need it on Sony. Lumix, not so much.
Sure, but since I talk about E-Mount version - I say about the monitor
@@NOlimitsON Yes the audience is Sony like a lot of UA-cam. If you have Lumix you can choose 1.5X which is good enough and even capture 3:2 internally as you mention albeit 4:2:0 in Long Gop. All this aside your footage looks awesome and has convinced me I need the 50mm 1.6x so good job!
Серьезно? Ты стал пилить видео на инглицкой мове онли?
Странный вы, у меня есть русский канал, я продолжаю делать видео на оба канала, уже два с половиной года. Какие проблемы зайти на него и посмотреть?
