    I never mow the same direction when mowing the yard doing so will cause ruts using different directions will also help level the ground.

  • @timrussell7907
    @timrussell7907 6 років тому +7

    With the grass that high, you should have changed directions at least twice then raise the deck at the end to blow the grass. Mower's a beast

    What I do sometimes is mow a area when its overgrown and go a different area lets say the front then come back to the back after the sun has had a chance to dry those clippings and then do that second pass. It makes a lot of those clumps go away and those clippings arent so wet. Then go back to the front. Great video man keep it up.

    I was watching another vlog on mowing and the mower guy said he charged 250 for a long grass mow. This yard certainly warrants the same charge. The tree near the yard shed needs bottom trimming to look really nice. Extra charge!

      Sally Martin this yard for sure needed a lot of care to which I was able to provide on other visits with this customer. She was very pleased with service's provided and the neighbor's were just as happy too. Thank you for viewing.

    Hey great job! Nothing wrong with what you did. That mower handled it excellently. However I bought myself a brush mower for these first time clean ups. It saves wear and tear on my frontline mower.
    I'll knock down the really tall and thick stuff then come with my finish mower and mulch it up a bit. The brush mower I have is a "Billy Goat" brush mower

    • @mobile-1lawnservicellc875
      @mobile-1lawnservicellc875  5 років тому

      510 Santizo having the right tools will for sure make the job easier. I try to stay away from yards that are too messed up, but if so I will only use a trimmer to knock down. Thanks for viewing.

    I know you don't want to blow clippings into the fence and building. But after a couple of passes go the opposite direction and blow to the outside. Blowing the clippings into where youve already cut saves a lot of wear on the machine and spindles. That was a tough yard though. Nice work!

    Great Job on the back yard that was some thick thick grass and the mower handled it great.....I bet you wished you could have gotten a bigger mower through that gate for that monstrosity.....People forget that leaving the clippings as fine as you cut them is good for the ground a natural effective fertilizer and keeps the grass from drying out...Good Job! I have watched this video over and over and marveled at that mower every time

    Robert Gruben. I just serviced this customer for the second time just as we speak 8-28-17 I was thinking the same thing when I seen the yard but I give the benefit of the doubt and see what their story is for it being that way. But for the most part she agreed to being serviced for the remainder of the year. Thanks for liking and commenting.

    How about a video to include your thoughts on mowing directions, bag or mulch, trim and edge before or after and your reasons. I have 2 mowers one is to mow taller gras in case of hidden objects the other is twin blades and I do finish cut. I don’t get why people throw all kind of junk in other peoples yards SMH

      Yes, you did blow clipping when you cut the side of the house and you are blowing clipping into another person's yard. You need a get a chute blocker or something. It is what I have to do, eventually you will run into another and scream out. I don't do open chute on large lot but 90 percent of my customer are subdivision so they would be piss all hell if the grass is not theirs.

    that wright stander is a decent little machine but just a little advice next time you run into a overgrown that high slow down your wheel speed a little and you won't have to go back and recut recut recut ..blades are spinning fast enough but that deck clog will hurt you in the long run..just my 2 cents from one landscaper to another ..good job though

    • @danhenderson783
      @danhenderson783 6 років тому +1

      Wet grass will clump no matter what speed you travel at. Cut it and with one pass, wait for an hour while the clippings dry just a little, then recut. The grass will spread out much nicer.

    • @wlh227
      @wlh227 7 років тому +2

      The standing mowers are generally more safe as if something is going wrong you can just step off the back and you won't have a 500 pound or more mower rolling over you. Try getting off a riding mower when it starts to tip over. That usually does not end well.

    • @darrinpennington

    What a mess in that back yard. I would have first cut out the center on deck transport mode height in order to cut down on amount of grass left laying on the yard. My grandpa taught me that trick when nb I use uo cut with him as an older teenager. I am now 55 and have cut lawns for others over the past 25 to 30 years.

    • @harolddenton6031
      @harolddenton6031 4 роки тому +1

      Hope you charged them a high rate to cut grass that was that overgrown. Just next time cut out the center to save you the extra 20 to 25 minutes of cutting time when cut grass back into tall grass. Keep on working hard. My old body is too worn out from having worked full 40 hour office job plus cutting for 10 to 14 families each summer since 1990.

      harold Denton on the back yard the mower deck was up on first pass cut then lowered. It wasn't to to bad to handle but like every yard in bad shape the first treatment always takes the most time.

      Just start by cutting out the center of yard when tgd grass is that overgrown. It will make it easier to cut up all of the grass clippings. Plus it won't put as much stain on the engine.
