Lung cancer expert Dr. Abbie Begnaud explains how low-dose CT can detect lung cancer. She explains how your radiologist and healthcare team will evaluate the results of your low-dose CT scan and look for spots (called nodules) that are not supposed to be there. Nodules will be examined for various features, including their number, size, shape, and opacity, resulting in a score that can be used as a gauge to determine follow-up recommendations and next steps.
I had my lung scan 2 weeks ago. Im so happy i had it done. Mild emphysema...code for copd. I now know more about myself. Your body is your temple . Take care of it.
I went in for a CT scan on my shoulder, after a fall, my shoulder was ok but they found a small soft mass on the top of my lung. I’m waiting on a lung function test, then we’ll take it from there. I believe a number of lumps and masses, can be found accidentally.
I’m grateful in away for that fall, as I only had a few symptoms that I didn’t give any real thought too.
Same here!
My friends lung surgeon said he doesn't know what her spots are and biopsy would be dangerous being behind diaphragm.
How do we know if scan was misread?
My husband has 4 mm nodule, doctor said recheck in a year should i be concerned?
What about spiculated lung nodules? According to some studies up to 90% of spiculated lung nodules are malignant, is this accurate? Does this also apply to nodules under 1cm? Are benign cases really that rare?
Look it up! Splats under 1-2cm are usually just nodule's
yeah, spiculated nodules from 6mm and up are very very souspicius. More info might be good (blood vessels? halo? ganglion reaction? smoking habit?), but they usually go to biopsy
