I had my lung scan 2 weeks ago. Im so happy i had it done. Mild emphysema...code for copd. I now know more about myself. Your body is your temple . Take care of it.
I went in for a CT scan on my shoulder, after a fall, my shoulder was ok but they found a small soft mass on the top of my lung. I’m waiting on a lung function test, then we’ll take it from there. I believe a number of lumps and masses, can be found accidentally. I’m grateful in away for that fall, as I only had a few symptoms that I didn’t give any real thought too.
I’ve been unable to get my doctor in California to give me a CT scan. I just got back from Ensenada Mexico. I got a CT scan for $167. I’m taking it to my doctor here in California. Amazing
What a serious, confusing, and nightmare my wife’s lung cancer has become. After two surgeries, removal of right middle lobe and right upper lobe, and part of lower right lobe (costing over $500k), the Pulmonologist is recommending radiation on one lower sub centimeter nodule, and chemotherapy for three sub centimeter nodules--one in upper left lobe and two in lower left lobe, however, she was told there was no cancer found in any lymph nodes. Radiologist reading for CTs (with and without contrast) and PET/CTs are all over the place. When ask why some sort of computerized reading, as a backup second confirmation of finding of scans wasn’t used, the Pulmonologist comment is “don’t you want a human to read and interpret your scans?”. All the doctors involved are highly rated with top accolades and work with top healthcare providers and at the most respected hospitals. My wife feels fine and is very active and is in good health otherwise. The question is: how can we get a ‘blind’ second opinion on all of this? Something does not seem or feel good about her/our entire ‘serious’ lung cancer health issue. Thanks.
What about spiculated lung nodules? According to some studies up to 90% of spiculated lung nodules are malignant, is this accurate? Does this also apply to nodules under 1cm? Are benign cases really that rare?
yeah, spiculated nodules from 6mm and up are very very souspicius. More info might be good (blood vessels? halo? ganglion reaction? smoking habit?), but they usually go to biopsy
Well the radiologist studied 3 nodules growing slowly . One he believes probably is adnocarcinoma but it is very small. Why are we still watching even though it is small. I had adnocarcinoma in my upper lung very small and upper lobe was removed even though no cancer surrounding
My niece just had a 8mm nodule that turned out to be malignant, removed with the lobectomy. She initially waited 6 months after first scan. The surgery was 10 days ago

Same here!
Great explanation!

Amazing
I have a calcified granuloma and mild dependent lower lobe subsegmental atelclastesis by CT. Should I be worried?
I’m in SD. Thinking about going to Mexico for second opinion.

Look it up! Splats under 1-2cm are usually just nodule's

My friends lung surgeon said he doesn't know what her spots are and biopsy would be dangerous being behind diaphragm.

How do we know if scan was misread?
My husband has 4 mm nodule, doctor said recheck in a year should i be concerned?
I got 6mm last year that went from 3mm in 3 years nothing big deal. Had ct scan done last week and haven't heard from them yet.
