This is exactly why doing your research and taking it seriously when starting a business is so important. Came across your video because I’m doing my research lol…I have seen so many other videos of ppl complaining about wooden wicks being hard to work with and not burning. That made me scared to even try them until NOW. This method does work! My first batch of wooden wick candles turned out and burned beautifully. Pretty sure if I hadn’t found this information I would have been in a bad spot with 25-30 batch of bad candles. Sincerely, A girl doing her research 🫡🙏🏽
Exactly the info I needed. Thank you! You included the type of oil, how long you soak them for and the efficacy of this method all in under 4 minutes. You are perfection!
Going to soak mine today. I will be back in a little less than two 2 weeks to let you know how things are going. Thank you! I like short videos. Thank you for that too. 😁
I only work with cotton wicks b/c I have tested wooden wicks from just about everywhere from Amazon to Makesy, and none of them would stay lit after the first 4-hour burn. I am definitely trying this out TODAY! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
@thecandlecoach they burned wonderfully! I allowed them to soak for 12 hours and 24 hours, put them in a wick-less candle, and the 12 hour soaked ones worked great, but the ones that soaked for 24-hours worked even better! TY so much for this video! Hope you had a wonderful holiday!
@@thecandlecoach This just might work well with shortening. I got a couple of cheap cans. I tried using regular candles and when they burned down, they fell over putting the flame out. The wood, on the other hand is rigid and thus won't fall over. I will say, it put out a lot of light and heat(winter time usage without electricity, is a plus).

Thank you! I had no idea!been having issues with my candles going out.
My pleasure. This should help. Also go on Etsy and get Wood Wick Care Card Template. People really don’t know how to use them.
Amazing I looking this for weeks
Yeah really appreciate the tip!

I do this with all my wicks. Truthfully I like Amazon wicks better than Makesy. Let me know how it goes.

My pleasure 😇
Thank you for sharing ❤
Thank you
I have those exact same wicks. Thank you ❤
You’re welcome 😊
I have wooden wicks sitting here gathering dust because I gave up trying to keep them lit. Thank you so much.. What made you try this method??
People ask me all the time..how I come up with stuff. I just say Jesus 🙏❤️. But I have seen it done before afterwards.
@@thecandlecoach All good things come from Jesus.
Thank you 😊
Thanx Coach! 😘
My pleasure 💕💕
Do you recommend another wood wick on Amazon? These wood wicks are sold out
How long will the wicks be good for after letting them dry 24hrs? Do you have to re-soak if you don’t use them for a few weeks?
I have gone months. I soak all of mine as soon as I get them. They are still good. Keep them in a plastic bag.
Can we use any oil other than olive oil?
I don’t tell anything but what I have used and know works. People will say this and that but..you can’t hold them accountable. You can hold me 🥰
Does the wax settle ok around it after doing this?
Thanks!
The wax will wax. Nothing changes. 😉
can we use ice cream sticks as candle wood wicks and do this method?
No. We do not use those to make candles.
@@thecandlecoachSame type of ice-cream stick wood maybe OK! They are lik a pine wood !
❤
Which wooden wicks are those? Could you please share a link?

Do you use standard olive oil, or is there a particular type of olive oil you would suggest?
I just use any olive oil.
@@thecandlecoachThank you so much!
Does Amazon still have these wicks? I tried the link but it said they couldn't be found
Happy Holidays. The links tend to move on Amazon. Here are the wavy ones amzn.to/3TztW8H

Just tried to make a candle out of ised wax and the wick wont stay lit. Thats why apparently!! Now i need to do this and redo the candle lol
No need to redo. Pull that wick out and put the other in.
Put the candle that's not burning well in Boiling Water once it starts to soften up push the wood wick down in it
Does this work with Makesy's wood wick? Do you get smoke from the oil burning?
I never purchased Makesy. I did get them in a destash. I soaked them. But honesty I received better wood wicks from Amazon and The Flaming Candle.
No smoke. As stated I do this with all my wood wicks.

my question is: won't the olive oil make the flame bigger?
Not at all 🫠
If I soak my wicks for a flame color change would i do this first or 2nd?
I’m not working with flame colors changing lol. I just want them to work 🥰
Has anyone tried this with makesy’s wooden wicks?
Thank you 😊
My pleasure ❤️❤️

I do in my membership. When I mention things they tend to sell out, as you have stated. I have customers so I need some of the things I recommend.
