I used to tell people that between Pantera and Metallica, Pantera might be technically better. Production value, sound range, dimebag always sounds great etc. Pantera plays with an almost comical style too as well that doesn't take itself too seriously like Metallica can at times.
He influenced them a bit no doubt Listen to Shattered by them he did the priest voice even better in my opinion of course outta full respect of Rob Halford , Phil Anselmo is one of the most versatile metal singers
this was the best part of their career up until Cowboys which I say is their last masterpiece. Cowboys is what they should have stayed at but I think Phil swayed them to take a more hardcore edge... and it sucks my ass
@@lordcharlesthomas Because some crybaby about music in a UA-cam comment section told me to? Sorry, I don't pander to illusions of grandeur - you're far from worth that kind of consideration.
You can clearly tell that this ain't like a rip-off type of style the bands they loved it pretty much saying hats off two boys that Inspire them and they took on this style of metal and they made it sound original at the same time. Even their Glam stuff was proof that that music could have been way more better and had great potential if it wasn't for those bands I'm going to extreme with that hair metal s*** with the image of it anyway. It's actually can be some good music a lot of the guitar leads are always stellar. But it just got too cheesy too easy Pantera did kind of dress up like that but Vinny said in an interview that he goes it wasn't really like that they were just emulating their Heroes at the time like heart Eddie Van Halen kiss. Oh yes you heard it heart that was their big influence in those early days . But the impression I got but at heart they weren't like the glam metal rockers that was in it for all the wrong reasons . Pantera could of played any style and it would sound great. But this whole record right here is just fantastic.. and then Cowboys from Hell came along clearly a different shift in the beginning of what they were going to become. But you still hear hints of the early days of Pantera especially this one peppered out for all the Cowboys from Hell record and then there's some songs were no it's completely shifted Primal concrete Sledge in Domination are good examples pairing but thank God they went the direction they kept going.
This album is amazing.
Agree
@@liquidmoleman7676 why do you have the exact same profile picture

And yes just about all of pantera's material is good, including their hair metal stuff too.
yeah i hate how this album isn’t on spotify
You can taste the Judas Priest vibe in this song.
This is a fantastic album
Sounded like rob Halford for a sec
That's because this band is called Priestera 😉

Rock! Nuh-nuh! Nuh-nuh! The Wooorrld!
Phil kind of sounds like Bruce Dickinson in this song.
And he looks like dave mustaine on the cover
That's not phil
@@maplethemann Are you sure?
@@maplethemann it is phil. Power Metal is the first album he joined Pantera
@@maplethemann then who is it?
This is awesome! I didn’t even recognize Phil’s voice here.
This solo reminds me so much of reb beach from winger
Caralho, to viciado nesse álbum do glamtera

seriously thats Phill?
The first song: sounds like Halford solo or Halford sounds like Pantera lol
So on and on...
Best album of theirs out of all of them
I agree. It's heavy and thrash and melodic.
What you smoking? It's pure cheese. Their change in direction was the best decision they made.
@@rutabaga69 I'd say you're the one smoking something. Phil is much better singing than growling.
@@Stefonius he is merely impersonating Halford here, that is not Phil's own voice yet
@@IvanKBatchvarov Disagree. This was his voice, and he decided to change it to make more money.
Rex Rocker on bass ladies and gentleman!
Fuck, this Phil's acting 70s Halford is minblowin' and heagbangin'
Dime sounded like if reb beach and robbin Crosby had a kid.
Geoff Tate?
Nope, Phil Anselmo when he could actually sing
Hell yes
Powerful production though..
Future is theirs...
Oh fuck yeah bud
Why doesn't spotify have this?😵
