Adam Blampied to Wrestletalk
That's not a betrayal. That was needed.
@@john-olivierlukama1548 still a move no one saw coming
+1
Confirmed.
Adam Blampied to what culture
AJ Styles leaving TNA to join NJPW and immediately being labeled as the new leader of the Bullet Club would have to be one of my favorite moments.
Wbu him joining WWE. It seemed unfathomable at the time
@@marcroth2844 no.
@@marcroth2844 kinda obvious
@@VictorELayne77 Yes
@@marcroth2844 rit was obvious coz the news had already broken out
"Adam to finally reunite with his one true love, and also Britt Baker."
One True Love = Professional Wrestling (which is AEW)
@@joecastro6959 no only true love is his bros lolz
bros before hoes
@@luminatron That's implying something.
@@joecastro6959HA!! In 2024 AEW has become the very thing it sought to destroy I mean I heard today that Tony Khan has recently been changing things on the day of the show or while it's airing live like a certain septigenerian
I’m upset no one got Adams joke about his top champion signing with another company. He was talking about when Drew signed with NXT. It sucks that WCPW is fading from memory.
Thank you I wasn't sure who this was referring to.
Thats what happens when the UK indie scene is gutted by WWE and a bunch of them being creeps.
I remembered
Cope
First it was Drew, and then it was basically the entire WCPW roster. I remember when William Regal did the media for the making of NXT UK, Pacitti was the one who asked "will you guys cooperate with local promotions" and Regal said "absolutely we will"
Then we came to find out Pacitti's promotion was one of the ones WWE would not let there talent go to
The most shocking defection must be Adam blampied jumped ship from What!Culture to WrestleTalk
Via cultaholic
You kind of stole my comment
@@kmversion1 he did a "demolition" angle on you lol
Wow I always wondered why he defected from WC
@@thestrugglesoflife5516 It was real life issues at the time, I believe it was due to him being a womaniser - I don't remember the entire thing, but that was the reason why he left the internet as a whole for quite sometime. I'm pretty sure there's a video out there explaining what happened.
AJ Styles leaving TNA for NJPW and *instantly becoming the new Bullet Club leader and then winning the IWGP Heavyweight title **_within a month_* surely deserves an honorable mention of sorts.
The WhatCulture lads to Cultaholic
6:28 that's probably why vince doesn't want to make megastars anymore. He's afraid that after all the effort invested into them, they'll get too popular for their own good and leave for greener pastures. He doesnt want anyone to be "bigger than the wwe" again.
You have a fair point there, and I don't see why people have a problem with it
Why not, it worked didn’t it?
@@joshsebbage7873 NO! It IS a problem because that’s part of the god damn process. Who cares if they leave? Deal with it
@@joshsebbage7873 People have a problem with it because Vince is intentionally sabotaging his wrestlers and the product. Because of his pathetic saltiness over brock leaving, any star that gets over today has there legs cut out from under them and lose momentum. That kind of management shouldn't be praised, it should be criticised.
But WWE is supposed to be the greener pastures.
That Brian Pillman one was savage
Too bad his run was short lived...
"The ghost of Tony Hawk"
Came out swinging today, Adam
Legit shocked that Adam’s favorite wrestler isn’t on here. Kurt Angle defecting to TNA was a total blindside.
He was probably offended by Luke's comment that Angle's best years were in TNA. So, decided to just CM Punk the whole situation.
That's a good point. Angle joining TNA was a shocker back in the day.
Wasn't a defection, technically.
@@breonbaker9113 He left one company for another, and it was a surprise. How is that not a defection?
@@jedshaffer5956 he didn’t “leave one company for another” WWE doctors wouldn’t clear him for performance due to his injuries. he had no choice but to go somewhere else
Christian jumping from WWE, the top promotion at the time, to TNA should've been on this list, in my opinion.
Either that or Kurt Angle would have been cool to see tbh
It was crazy but at the end of the day not as much of an Impact (pun intended)
I mean he was released so idk if it fits in this as well as a lot of the others on this list. Still an awesome move those when Christian did it I’m sure
It’s tna 🤷🏾♂️
That Adam Cole Bay bay pop that happened at All Out gave me goosebumps
I vomited and I don't even like WWE.
And he's playing dress up with his friends instead of being the best NXT champion ever.
@@danmount9462 the best NXT Champion ever has been signed to AEW from Day 1, but stay mad Cole picked his personal fulfilment over a shallow payday cuccboi
Rick Rude hands down moving from RAW to WCW on the same night will never be topped
I wish I could give this video an extra "like" for "Loose Canon".
Genius, my son. Genius.
You forgot that Jericho debut Fozzy's enemy music video with the hype package for 2006's TNA Bound for Glory. Like it may have only been a tease but man oh man it looked like Jericho could have shown up whenever he wanted to with TNA for a little bit.
Seriously if he's there in 06, you'd have AJ Styles, Chris Jericho, Daniels, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Petey Williams, Christian Cage, Kurt Angle and Sting at the top of your card. Those 04-08 TNA cards were absolutely loaded.
"We'll defect to you... no, wait... we'll... kill... we'll kill you..." Wow, that escalated quickly! :D :D :D
10 Best/10 Worst years in WWE history. Adam's metaphors about Vince's successes and failures are always chuckle-worthy.
Adam's videos are the only reason I wake up on Sundays
...And traditionally picking up a party pack of Soft tacos!
And Go Country's "Country's Greatest His" show
"austin had chronic neck" 😂😂 perfect description 😂
Genuinely my heartiest laugh of the week was at that 'shared distaste for Shane Mcmahon' remark .Superb stuff.
The Debut of the Radicals (Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, and Perry Saturn) was my favorite switching companies. moment
They showed up on Raw immediately after they were released from WCW if I recall.
that too after Benoit literally won their world championship a day earlier.
Adam: *mentions Dungeon of Doom*
Me: *immediately thinks of "Ow! It's not hot"*
Am I the only one who was super happy to see The Butcher return? I think he's pretty underrated and has a great look for the character he plays.
I was happy to see Butcher after not seeing him for a while. Now, they could carry momentum to face Lucha Brothers for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
@@JaimeD. Yes!
Been a fan of his since his days as the guitarist for Every time I Die. Glad others are coming around.
I was so happy to see him. Butcher and Blade are one of the most underrated tag teams in AEW and Butcher has come so far. He's one of my favorites
Honestly, I'd like to see him get a TNT title run.
Gotta love surprise appearances. They make things feel like things are drastically changing in the business.
Hearing Adam mention Stardom makes me super happy. I understand it's smaller compared to most promotions but would love to hear it covered more on this channel. It's the main reason I found myself getting hooked back into wrestling after being burned out by WWE over the years.
I recently got into stardom 10 months ago. Not gonna lie, I was burned out by aew’s lack of crowds for obvious reasons, NJPW giving Evil the belt still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, but watching a random stardom show just refueled me. And I’m glad I stayed because we had great matches this year. Tam /Giulia, Kamitani/Hayashishita,Syuri/Hayashishita, Kamitani/Maika, Giulia/SLK, Mayu/Yoshiko, everything with Cosmic angels. I love Kamitani. She’s easily my favorite
My favourite part about the creation of pro wrestling Noah is the fact the TV company gave them AJPW TV like it was nothing.
Well the truth is misawa wanted to do something with ajpw product while being the ajpw president. But mokoto baba can't trust on him and she gave an excuse that it would insult giant baba's tradition (despite giant baba would have shouted that misawa to go for it) and then he was fired as president and that pissed him and entire roster off. So everyone jumped shipped with the ark of noah like style .
I would love to see Keith Lee literally anywhere but WWE at this point
HEY!! It's Keith BEARCAT Lee.
@@sameerkashyap1750 HEY!! It's Bearcat Lee
Hey, he is out of WWE .. so, now we just wait about 90 days and see where he goes.
@@briwanderz will he? did they update his contract before leaving?
You got your wish
I’m not gonna lie if triple H ever went to AEW that would be the day I would actually get back into watching wrestling religiously just to see the absolute clusterfuck meltdown that Vince McMahon would go throw
😂😂😂
This is so stupid triple h isnt even a full time wrestler anymore he an big executive at the company so why would he ever consider going to aew unless they need new management on top of that he has health problems now
@@abidmohammad5953 Smarks gonna mark.
I’m pretty sure the guy who’s set to inherit WWE (ok, his wife is) and is in charge of WWE’s best product NXT isn’t going anywhere.
Wouldn’t be shocking now that he lost all of his power now in wwe
Hulk Hogan: the man behind so many defections, and so many instances of "we don't need to talk about that."
"Gone to play for the other team."
*_Hogan and Vince clip_*
I see what you did there.
My personal favorite is when Kenny Omega signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2014 after leaving DDT Pro-Wrestling, and became *"The Cleaner"* while joining Bullet Club to "clean up the junior division" for over a year.
A few honorable mentions you should have added;
Sting to WWE
Sting to AEW
AJ Styles to WWE
“Loose Canon” very nice Adam. Very smart
Hopefully, we witness another wrestling boom period with WWE and AEW
I Think we are right now
@@JustKeepFlowingYes For wrestling fans kinda, but it will never be as popular overall as it once was imo.
@@samuelreyes6973 absolutely agree with you
"Austin had chronic 'neck'."
This broke me.
I see what you did there…
You're really going to Owen that pun huh?
Ricochet to AEW. Seeing him on Monday Night Raw is just sad.
I got very excited when you mentioned Misawa. Like disturbingly excited.
The crazy thing about Nash and Hall debuting in WCW is that that's something you can't do today something that wouldn't work. Immediately something would leak today. You'd have to pull off some Pillman 4d chess to pull that off today.
AJ and Nakamura to WWE. Nakamura was a big deal as it was, but AJ leaving indirectly led to AEW's creation. AJ leaving gave Kenny the opening to be the top Gaijin, which led to the Jericho match etc
Jericho being given the go ahead by Vince to join AEW is hilarious in hindsight.
I can imagine Vince’s brain going “let him have a bit of fun in that soon to be dead company and he’ll be back for half the price” while rubbing his hands together
When Brock Lesnar popped up in the list, I thought it was about his mini-run in NJPW rather than the NFL...
Adam you are the best part of Sundays now thank you
Rick Rude appearing in two places at once. Visually striking and dynamic.
"His one true love"
"And also Britt Baker"
Honorable mentions to CM Punks defection from ROH in 05 and Keji Mutoh leading a micro exodus to AJPW in '01.
How adam would book : roman reigns loosing the universal championship
Kurt Angle defecting to TNA was a pretty big deal too. He lied to Vince about taking time off to heal himself only to turn around and jump to another promotion
He didn't lie. He just wasn't sensible enough to get the help he needed.
You missed one important thing... After that infamous Lex Luger jump ship to wcw, it was the the inception of the wwe "90-day no compete clause".
It’s funny that the one thing preventing Hulk Hogan from defecting to AEW was because he and his ex-wife were explicitly banned from the company.
I need Cedric Alexander to head to New Japan and have another banger with Kota Ibushi.
Funniest video Adam has done in a while, I was laughing my ass off ..... Keep up the good work boys Jam that Jam
The one defection I really want to see is Sami Zayn to AEW. That man has way too much talent to be in his position in WWE.
Him and Kevin
look at him now !! :)
When Bruce Pritchard was on Steve Austin’s podcast he told Austin what Pat Patterson said when Luger appeared on Nitro was hilarious did you hear WCW have the Lex Luger good for them he’s there problem now
I'd love to see KO in AEW. Balor as well. WWE isn't doing much for KO & Balor deserves The Universal Championship, seeing he never lost it & we know that he's not going to get it back @ Xtreme Rules.
A defection I would love to see:
Jack the Jobber to PFK/NRB/WT confirmed
My favorite wrestling podcast period
I’d love to see Dolph Ziggler in AEW but his name is so iconic I don’t know what he could change it to
Nick Nemeth, and form a tag team with Ryan Nemeth, who breaks away from The Wingmen and actually gets a push
Nick Nemmeth is a pretty cool wrestling name to be fair
Since his brother is there, he could just change his name to his real one: Nic Nemeth.
Zolph Diggler
@@levisamom5069 what is Zolph Diggler, long lost brother of Dirk Diggler, DOING IN THE IMPACT ZONE?!
4:34 I had to look that up and wow, Adam actually shares his birthday with Vince.
WCW guy dropped ecw belt to a wwe guy
"It was the style at the time"
Me:that's a good style no reason Jon mox shouldn't win the wwe title qnd take it to aew other that Vince being insecur
I’m kind of shock Kurt Angle to Impact wasn’t on here. Sure, WWE released him, but he was in talks to go to UFC. When he showed up in TNA, it was a huge shock.
Best use of the phrase "Loose Canon" ever
I think a Kevin Owens defection could be huge if it happens. The reformation of Mount Rushmore, coupled with the inevitable split of the Elite, could be one of the biggest angles AEW ever runs
Adam Blampied to PartsFunknown then Adam Blampied to WrestleTalk.
Also loads of WCPW stars to Defiant Wrestling lol
"Suicide dive by Mike Awesome, and it's a shame he didn't succeed in taking his own life!"
- Joey Styles, One Night Stand
I usually don't use emoticons but 😬...
Adam Cole defected to AEW just to protect Britt from Big D Tony Schiavone.
Finally sometime if wrestling history happening on my exact birthday weekend (Lex Luger final WWE match and his essential defection)
Simon Miller to Wrestletalk confirmed!
Talking about Cody and AEW in such a video is certainly my cup of foreshadowing.
Make a List of 10 Occurrence where Wrestlers refused to defect . (undertaker, johncena etc.)
It's been so long since I heard the word "defect" that I almost forgot it was even a word
"Ric Flair...the man who's fueled by divorce like most cars are fueled by petrol."
SHEEEEEEEEEESH! 😆
The same exact topic was Cultaholic's first ever video, the place Adam defected from. Things have come full circle.
Thumbs up for not disrespecting Adam Cole by just saying his name. Only he can introduce himself properly....baybay
When Awesome dropped the title to Tazz the fourth wall was blown to shreds.
I saw Flair wrestle live when he had the pixelated Tag Team belt. I think he wrestled one of The Rockers.
Idk how many people would want to see this, but I'd like another one of these lists but kayfabe. Like how robbie eagles betrayed bullet club to join chaos, or evil from lij to bullet club
Ah the forbidden door reference for the taz and awesome match. Never thought of it like that. Also good to realize aew isn't the first to do so
2:40 I low-key want to see someone make that edit.
Edit: The NOAH pun was 10/10.
I’d love to see Randy Orton to AEW for the LOLZ
Jericho casually walking past a curtain, then eating an RKO to JR's call again...
@@Xariama You just see “Outta Nowhere” on the back of a shirt, then slowly zooms out and he’s doing his pose
@@CPP1999 While that would be damn cool i reckon just having him literally rko someone out of no where without once mentioning him being there at all would be amazing. Literally his entire thing is "out of nowhere" so how about a defection out of nowhere revealed with an RKO out of nowhere 😁
@@cptteacosy6158 that would be so sick! No news on it, it’s totally secret and just happens
"And... Britt Baker ." 🤣🤣
"So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time, and I jumped ship to the WWF..." Speaking of Alundra's defection to WCW and burial of the WWF Women's Championship, she was Rewarded As A Traitor Deserves- she was lured to WCW by the promise of a top-class women's wrestling scene, only for Bischoff to change his mind and pretty much disband the women's division to replace them with the Nitro Girls, and after she'd served her purpose in humiliating the WWF, Madusa pretty much never did anything of relevance in WCW ever again. It's a cutthroat business alright.
Not to mention after she canned the WWF championship on live TV she burned any and all chances to ever be in WWE/F again. Vince would probably kill her if they were ever in the same room again lol
@@JackTheripper911 Well no, they inducted her into the Hall of Fame already, where at the ceremony she produced a bin and pulled the WWF Women's Championship out of it. Vince was able to get over it after WCW went down in a screaming heap, so he probably thought of it as a good laugh. She also took part in the Battle Royale at the Evolution PPV, and beat Candice Michelle for the 24/7 Championship, which she even teased throwing in a bin before being convinced to sell it to the Million Dollar Man instead. It's all water under the bridge now.
I like the recent jump of Thunder Rosa from NWA to AEW. She was in AEW as another company's champion and just stayed. She simultaneously upstaged and elevated the women's division in AEW while she was in NWA which would have been more embarrassing (and it was embarrassing) for AEW if it wasn't so rad.
Next should be balor and styles
Probably will make the best power struggle in wrestling history
Keiji Mutoh jumping from New Japan to All Japan in 2002 was pretty big.
Hogan as a major defector not once, but twice. Fitting
Adam, come one, KURT ANGLE was freakin unseen and awesome! TNA ring has 6 sides, but only 1 Angle!
I thought I wanted Bray to defect but honestly I’d be more down for Kevin Ownes to defect, cause an elite split or something
Honorable Mention: The Original Core of WhatCulture Wrestling leaving as an Exodus to form Cultaholic.
Remember when everyone thought ortan was gonna defect to AEW? I always like to wonder.... What if?
I wish Pillman was higher ranked. Genuinely one of the smartest and most creative moves a wrestler has ever done!
I know it was (maybe) a one-off, but kenta kobashi travelling to america and joining ring of honor way back when. Quite the defection imo.
Blampied, Pacitti, Jack, Ross and Sam to Cultaholic was massive!
Love the Matt McMuscles reference
I would love for John Hennigan to go to AEW. They'd probably call him Johnny Elite or something like that.
The personal story you shared in the Lex Luger part concerned Drew Galloway/McIntyre didn't it?
Yes
TIL Adam and I have the same Birthday (along with VMK, Cal Ripken Jr, and Mount Vesuvius)
john cena turns heel by leaving wwe (learning to wrestle by his ex brother in law) and showing up in AEW
I'm watching this in June 2022. Cody Rhodes jumped shipped to WWE from AEW and just wrestled a Hell in a Cell match with a BROKEN FREAKIN' PEC!
You know whose never mentioned as a defector but I would day they qualify? Kurt Angle
From WWE to TNA, that legit made me watch TNA for awhile
