Inspiring, informative, and a roadmap to success that I aspire to attain. Ms. Giles' is a beacon of strength, passion, and hope for the true leader inside of everyone. Her presentation shows that it is essential for us to have confidence to stand alone. Deep inside of all of us is the courage to make tough decisions about our careers. Our compassion and empathy for the people around us, even strangers, is born out of astute listening to the others and our agility to change and grow. Whether it is another persons needs, dreams, or concerns that feed our depth of understanding or recognizing how interconnected we are to each other, taking control is a challenge that scares us and requires discipline. Ms. Giles' presentation reflects her innate leadership that embraces equality, inclusivity, and genuine integrity of her deep wisdom.

Brilliant! And spot on. It is a shame (the comments here seem to prove it) that so many employers don't know how to recognize staff that go above and beyond for their business. I've owned a bar for 10 years now and the majority of my staff have been with me for all that time. Between their work ethic, attention to detail and ability to problem solve, without them I would not have been able to succeed.

You are one of the smart ones and you get it. If you take care of your employee they will make your business skyrocket. Good job Aaron, keep up the amazing work.

Yes agree, but I have had some bosses that never deserved this kind of dedication.

Totally agree. That is the sad part and why I often go to companies and teach them how to create a culture that embraces the Employeepreneur.

My daughter is going to love this. She's the sort that regardless of how her bosses treat her, she treats her clients and employees like family, she says that not only does she get fulfillment out of going above and beyond, knowing she's helped people has made her feel better, even if the owners take advantage.

She is indeed an employeepreneur. I say "You are a multi-billion dollar organization and your career is your product: manage it accordingly." Great job raising her.

I do like this idea, though I have concerns that aren't we creating a potential outcome that employers have this expectation of ALL employees?

Thank you and we should have the expectation that people in general have conversational competence as a foundation before they leave primary education. Being able to talk through situations where we disagree is the essence if problem solving

If we don't give it our all, then how can we think we will give it all. If we can't prove ourselves, how will we be confident with ourselves. Great talk!

So true, this why I share my message. I want people to manage their careers like a business so they can take their business elsewhere when the environment is not right. As I said in my podcast (a quote from Caroline Wanga) "If you can't be who you are where you are, change where you are not who you are."

This is correct, until we change our mindset, not owners and workers, but empowered people working together, our society will remain filled with victims and opportunists, instead of people with common purpose.
