About the Online Mod 1 Training resource
This Online Module One Training package makes passing the test easier. The online program gives you tips and advice to eliminate test nerves. Every exercise is broken down into individual lessons. Bite size chunks help you develop skills by firstly understanding what to do.
The online lessons help guide learner riders to prepare for the motorcycle test. There are also step by step instructions on how to enter the test centre and carry out all the slow control manoeuvres. This includes the U-Turn, slalom and figure of 8 exercises. There are many tips, like how to position correctly and when to carry out effective observations and lifesavers.
Bespoke information is given to pass the speed exercises, the Emergency Stop and the Avoidance Exercise. The videos show how to position, where to slow down and how to accelerate in preparation of each exercise.
They also give three different view points:
- The Riders view
- The examiners view
- Animation with through explanation
The online program ‘Pass the Mod 1 Test - The essential guide’ can be accessed 24/7 on any device. This puts learning at your fingertips when you have time to absorb the instruction.

Good vid.
When starting the turn for the U turn to the right, don't you put some pressure on the right bar in order and keeping your body upright, to get the bike leaning into the turn, just like a little counter steering move, otherwise the bike feels uncoordinated trying to turn the bars like you were driving a car.
worth watching video.. U turn under pressure is not as easy as it looks.. take notice and practice.. as it is a Major fault and you will fail if you don't get it right first time. and you only get one go at it on the test.
Hi just curious as to where you guys are based, I'm in east london. I just got my cbt on a moped, and bought my self a sr125 like the one in your videos. I'm not very confident yet on a manual bike, so I practice in an empty car park late at night (and yes the bike is insured ).
Can you give me any tips on steady throttle control?
Hi, thanks for the message, we ate based in Redditch and Birmingham.
Send me your email address and I can send you some details. My email is simon@rmtnet.co.uk
Hey guys. I've been looking for this everywhere and I could not find any information on it. Do you need to use your indicator on the U-Turn? For example in this video the U-Turn was performed from left to right. Do I need to use my right indicator? Going to my mod 2 next week in Uxbridge.
No, you don't need to use your indicator to do a u turn. You won't be asked to do a U turn on the Mod 2 anyway. Good luck
i did my theory today i pass on 24/10.2012 at 10.00am today yes you can pass good luck
Is very dificult to do this modul with a heavy bike, like 1250 GS ! My opinion the 10 meter should be like 15 ! Question, if you exceed the imaginary line of the rear cones, the 7.5m, it is a major fault ? If it is where is published . Thank you !
I found it piss easy. If you think U turns are hard on a 1250GS, try practicing it on a cruiser.
Would a single missed life saver at any point during the test be a major fault or a minor if it was just once?
Not if pulling away but if you miss the one on the U Turn it could be a serious fault.
Would you take mod 1 without training have been thinking doing mod 1 on my 125 bike.
I would find a training school that uses the test centre and have a session on there with them.
What, no mention of clutch/rear brake??
This exercise is the last of the slow control exercises, the full explanation is during the first slow ride exercise when doing the slalom and fig 8!
No point in going over the same skill every single exercise 😉.
We are based in Birmingham
Are there actually green dots on the u turn line ?
Yes there are, 2 of them...
@@MotorcycleRidersHub wow I learned something today thanks very much. My Mod 1 is early April I've been practicing my U Turn today.
@@MotorcycleRidersHub if you don't do the lifesaver on the green dots is this a fail ??
@@iainwallington474 Good luck, take your time and don't rush. Try this if you need some info on the avoidance exercise and other exercises bit.ly/3kw02yz
@@iainwallington474 It isn't the location of the dots that is important but the timing of the lifesaver. We use these as a guide so that our customers remember to do a LifeSaver before they turn.
I thought the u turn was 7.5m wide.. am I wrong to say that?
It seems that way.. the u turn in this looks less than 5m
You can make it in 6.5 meter but never in 5 !
No.
