That sailing class actually seemed pretty awesome and a great way to learn how to actually sail. Plus the class size is small. I would have signed up for it if I went to Greendale.
I know John Oliver was busy starting the show that would get him millions of dollars and one hundred Emmys but my god he truly did amazing work as professor Duncan lmao
Can I Fry That? "Fries?" "Get out...GET OUT!! There's one every year. I wil not tolerate clowning." "Car keys?" "YEAH!!!" These professors are so unhinged😂

I was disappointed to learn recently that "I'm as high as hell and you're about to get shot" doesn't come from a song but is just a snippet recorded for the episode.
It is a real song, but it was written for the show, there’s a full version in an earlier episode during a party scene (episode where Magnitude is introduced?)
I went to a small town college and they had a series of 1 hour/week classes on really random subjects. They were open to anyone, free, and if you signed in for 80% of the classes you got credit for them. They were little passion projects from the professors and honestly some were really fun. I took one that was about the social impacts of video games on different societies. Actually shows up on my classes taken list with my degree and the professors were pretty chill. No homework and no final but we played videogames and looked at how they impacted different social groups.
Always funny that Chang gave out Italian cards to get people to pair up as well as having the Italian flag on his podium, after his speech about being a face eating Spanish genius.
I have watched this show many time and i nearly forgot carpe diem was for accounting! That's the happiest accountant ive ever seen haha (and I have a parent in finance and one who's an accounting teacher)
Jokes that will never stop making me laugh : 1. The “can I fry that” bit 2. Class dismissed (who’s the boss class teacher breakdown) 3. - Form a trust circle around me - Trust circle ? - It’s just a circle 4. - I just want to go on the swings - that just happened this morning 5. All your lives you’ve been told don’t stand on your desks, but why not ? 6. - Pierce, Troy was molested - cool
Ya know? At first I was sad my college experience wasn't Greendale. Then I realized it wasn't much different than Ladders and alcohol as far as I remember. 40K well spent!
2:57 I have watched this scene so many times and only just noticed 1) The 'G' looks far more like a 'P' and 2) It's written completely differently when the camera cuts back to him
At the college I went to, there's an actual class that analyzes Stalin's Russia through the lens of the Hunger Games. I sadly wasn't able to take it before I graduated.
Shirley: “Reef the main sail and furl the jib” Pierce: “Is that nautical talk or urban speak?” Shirley: “We have to turn back” Bruh, I don’t blame you… 😂
And to think all of these classes were saner than the Air Conditioning school
But they the Pharaohs now
"WELL BOYS AND GIRLS...I HOPE YOU BROUGHT YOUR POPSICLES.."
I AM THE TRUEST REPAIRMANNN 😐☝🏾
Having studied Air conditioning, they really were accurate with the representation
idont know

Also, it's taught by The Six Million Dollar Man
I completely agree, I always thought it was a clever idea
if u listened closely its actually only a 1 week intensive as well. 5 days of sailing and ur done with the entire class
where goes one, there go all.
I know John Oliver was busy starting the show that would get him millions of dollars and one hundred Emmys but my god he truly did amazing work as professor Duncan lmao
Still hoping he's in the upcoming movie!! 🤞🤞 Doesn't feel like a true reunion without him!
You have ruined the DUNCAN PRINCIPLE 😂😂😂😂!!!!
I was literally thinking this week about how Ladders could be a super instructive course, from engineering, design, history, and culture perspectives
Heckin heck isn't there a ladder on a church in Jerusalem known as the immovable ladder that hasn't been moved for the past 300 years?
@winterwolf211 yep! The story behind it is equal parts fascinating, frustrating, and funny.
Ladders with Alcohol is a perfect study of chaos theory
At my university there recently was a lecture about the history of the chair...
@wolis7178 very interesting!

Pudi’s channeling of Cage is the the stuff of legend.
It fells to me a lot more like Jim Carrey than Cage
@@sammywurtman6302 He went crazy it was not him doing a Cage impression it was him overdosing on Cage, which affects everybody differently. Remember friends don't let friends watch too many Nicolas Cage movies
I too had a friend overdose on Cage. She was never the same
*that was brilliant*
I was disappointed to learn recently that "I'm as high as hell and you're about to get shot" doesn't come from a song but is just a snippet recorded for the episode.
Isn’t that kind of refreshing? That this show goes out of its way to make its own music to better portray whichever message they’re trying to portray
@@KALOSMYTHaaaaaand that message is… 😂
Disappointing? Sure. I didn’t know this until just now, and that makes the song/scene about 1000x funnier to me.

@@ClassifiedRanTom It's also in the first scene of the pilot episode.....when the Dean is trying to give his welcome speach!
i just took a ladder safety training module for work and this was the first thing i thought about.

Crazy how Pierce drowned in a parking lot. Twice ✌🏿
10:00 Man this scene. They set it up with the scenario, the challenge, the climax, then hit you with the analysis joke. Great one
It's insane how even after so many years the kind gods of community still keep blessing us with these gems

Mila vayntrub was in that!
Idk why I always forget how funny the sailing episode is haha. The way Troy says that last line and Shirley gets all stoic is gold.
The teacher from the Nicholas Cage class had already seen that, he knew he had to let it roll.
This show had the absolutely greatest GOAT... guests of all time!
I want to write “something” on a chalk board so badly now
Don't forget to dot under the line
I wouldn't mind taking ladders next year. Seems like a nice class

I guess the best students in Ladders really are at the top of their class?
We need the Night School full episode!

That sailing class, what I wouldn't give to be an actual seaman! and to stop giggling at the word seaman.
Nicolas Cage is the only actor that is progressing acting as an actual artform.
Based Blackfyre
Nic Cage impression was spot on.
I love this show so much.
The “can I fry that” bit always makes me burst out laughing 😂 it’s so dumb it’s too good
Chang was actually a pretty good teacher early on
Professor Duncan is definitely my most favorite teacher on the show! 💜
Just go with it..😂😂😂😂
LADDERS🔥🔥🗣️🗣️
12:30 First time I recognized the Italian flag on the cards 😬
7:34 glad buster found his calling
4:00 Neon Genesis Evanegelion reference
Pierce got the flavor wrong though.

Six Seasons and A Movie!!
11:58 The way he rubs the cheek. So creepy yet trusting.
Pierce getting knocked off the boat made me think of old Chevy Chase. When he was funny? c. 1983?
23:20 can’t stand Chevy Chase, but that raising of the glass after the ‘revelation’ about Troy was genuinely hilarious
pierce just described the ending of neon genesis
Over 26 minutes of oddball classes!!

This was honestly heartbreaking especially when you consider Troy’s and pierces friendship.
10:15 the gun in the drawer!

Ladders is the best class ever

Ladders!!
Reformed Neo-Buddhism actually sounds pretty dope ngl.
Can I Fry That professor does the voice of Regular-Sized Rudy
Ladders class would be kinda sick.
I was in an arts degree and took some pretty weird cases 😂 it was fun as hell though.
I'm going to be disappointed if the Betty White Anthropology class isn't here

tbh dean was helping the jib market
Anyone else upset that they show nic cage clip before who's the boss?

I like to think that Grifting 101 was a prequel to Jackie Daytona
Phoenix Wright: It's a step ladder.
I don't remember that ladder class at all ...

Reform neo-Buddhism was formed by the Missouri Synod after the last Conclave. Their teachings on dharma are very controversial.
