Love your videos. So many details and insights on how much history is all around us but we all tend to overlook it…thanks again for sharing your journey and your story with us! Great job!
I love Shelby Foote. He’s one of my favorite historians. I’ve read Shiloh among many of his books. He had a style of writing thaț flowed nicely and he had a way of breaking things down that was easy to understand.
I LOVE TO FOLLOW YOUR TRIPS. I JUST WENT TO THE NATIONAL CONFEDERATE MUSEUM IN COLUMBIA , TN . WHAT A GREAT COLLECTION OF REAL HISTORY. KEEP GOING , LOVE TO MEET WITH YOU SOMETIME WITH MY WW2 REENACTING AND LIVING HISTORY.
Really enjoyed your video. My wife and I live in the Memphis area and we’ve visited Elmwood Cemetery. So many interesting graves to visit. So many veterans from many wars interred there.
Shelby Foote was one of the greatest American historians. Although a Southerner, he told the story of the Civil War very balanced between the Union and Confederacy.
@@WalkwithHistory Mr Foote always struck me as one of those guys I would love to sit on the porch with and just sip my bourbon and listen. I bet I've watched Ken Burn's Civil War series a half dozen times just because of him.
Fascinating place to wander around. So many graves that go back to when people went all out in erecting monuments to deceased loved ones...and to themselves in some cases, I suppose. I have family buried there, and while their graves are modest, standing over them, one can look around and see some pretty impressive commemoration.

He was more of a very fine storyteller than a great historian. Definitely a very readable author; his novels are pretty good too, IMO.
Great video Jen thank you
You are so welcome!
I was wondering if you were going to visit Shelby Foote! Right on!
Of course!!!

That’s amazing! Quite a family history. 😊
Excellent video! There's a lot more to Memphis than Graceland.
So much more. Thank you for watching.
Hello. You should visit Oakwood Cemetery in Chicago, IL. It consists of historical figures such as Jesse Owens and Ida B Wells.
Yes! Would love to visit them.
Would you have a video of the confederate generals buried in Elmwood cemetery?
I don’t. But thank you for the suggestion!
Hello. Could I post a link to one of my videos of the cemetery to your site?
Apologies, i'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean posting the link in these comments?
@WalkwithHistory Yes, I made a video of the cemetery. You can visit the site someday.
The music is ok but not when you are talking.
Thank you for the feedback and thank you for watching! 😊
Could do without the loud music.
Thank you for the feedback and thank you for watching! 😊
Florence, Alabama
The man that named my town is buried here…
How cool!
Nice video by a pretty lady!
Thank you for watching.
Gee I hope these graves don't offend anyone.
👀
Okay, so after viewing a few of your videos I’ve decided not to follow you. I’m sorry, but the music is so unnecessary and it drowns out your voice. 😢
Sorry to see you go. Thank you for watching
You are a silly person
Idiot

You're an actual resident of Memphis?
We just moved here in May. Scott is stationed at Millington.
