I think it’s absolutely genius how the devs came up with a mechanic that tricks players in to giving away that they suck at their game if they complain about the music being lackluster
I think the point of the mechanic is to encourage people to want to get better on their own, thereby forming their own groove with the music and slaying demons. But hey, if you wanna me negative about it that's cool too dude.

Also virgil played like shit that dlc was not worth. other than that I thinks it's better than dmc 1, 2 and Nero in 4.
One time I was doing Bloody Palace and managed to end the fight as soon as "pull my devil trigger" played, which ended the song right then, without the wind-down. it was a spectacular moment i will cherish for the rest of my life

Gotta say, this is actually ingenious. I always tend to be better at literally anything I do when the music's sick, because it just sorta just pushes you and is just straight-up more fun. So whenever the full song unfurls not only are you already kicking ass, you're being acknowledged and wanna fuck shit up even more, which ties into the core style mechanic of the game. Sound design was fucking on point here.

I can just imagine surprise people experienced when played it for the first time, first they get a hint that A isn't final rank and they reach S.. Only to see that S also keeps getting filled, and curiosity forces them to keep trying to do your best and then bam, they see SS rank... And that it keeps getting filled, and person gets curious if it there's anything more....SSS. Before you realize it, you did some insane moves and went to the top of style, as music goes as hard as it can.

the song mechanic in this game managed not to only be fucking fire but to also give away to all the game journalists for being shit at the game when they all complained that the music sucked. Which I had also just learned is the music only intensifies and gets better if you have a higher rank and to get that you need to be good at the game.
If you can time this right in game, you should activate devil trigger when the beat drops. Not only is it cool to hear Nero shout something at the top of his lungs but also the fact you can destroy demons at your max power while the beat drops is a instant turn on 😂.

Gotta say, this is actually ingenious.
I always tend to be better at literally anything I do when the music's sick, because it just sorta just pushes you and is just straight-up more fun.
So whenever the full song unfurls not only are you already kicking ass, you're being acknowledged and wanna fuck shit up even more, which ties into the core style mechanic of the game.
Sound design was fucking on point here.

The best part is when it Builds up and you start with such a big combo it immediately escalates to S Rank and the Music just gets hype af in an instant.

I can just imagine surprise people experienced when played it for the first time, first they get a hint that A isn't final rank and they reach S.. Only to see that S also keeps getting filled, and curiosity forces them to keep trying to do your best and then bam, they see SS rank... And that it keeps getting filled, and person gets curious if it there's anything more....SSS. Before you realize it, you did some insane moves and went to the top of style, as music goes as hard as it can.

the song mechanic in this game managed not to only be fucking fire but to also
give away to all the game journalists for being shit at the game when they all complained
that the music sucked.
Which I had also just learned is the music only intensifies and gets better if you have a higher
rank and to get that you need to be good at the game.

If you can time this right in game, you should activate devil trigger when the beat drops. Not only is it cool to hear Nero shout something at the top of his lungs but also the fact you can destroy demons at your max power while the beat drops is a instant turn on 😂.
