I’m so excited for my plant mail! Supposed to be today! It will be an honor to have her! I am new to anthuriums. But I put my little crystallinum in terracotta in chunky soil. She seems to LOVE it. I water her every seven days she lives in my Barrina cabinet. I definitely want to experiment more with PON but it’s always sold out. So I’m going to make my own and see how that goes. Lol. It’s always something in Planty land!

Ooo I can't wait to hear how it arrives!! 🙌🏼 and if you make your own pon, you gotta keep me posted on how it goes and what you use!! 👏

When I repot my Anthurium I try to pot them a bit deep so I don't have to put a collar on them for awhile. Not deep enough to rot out, but all the top roots and stem are put under substrate. Since I have to reroot them anyway, I've been putting all my imports in PON. When I get an offset from a plant I purchased from the US, it goes in PON as well.

Where do you get your pon? Or do you make it yourself??

Claire @ Jungle Haven had similar problems with some of her Anthuriums & moved them to Pon with great results.

I've been so intrigued by pon! I've only used it once when an anthurium seedling I purchased was in pon but it seemed to absolutely love it!

I to was intrigued after watching other people's results, so for the past year I have been gradually swapping over, as & when one of my plants come ready for a repot. I have combined this with self- watering pots & have been very pleased with the results - not just happy plants but time saved watering and much fewer pests. With 200+ plants, every minute saved, quickly adds up & gives me more time to enjoy my plants & do other plant things.

I recently watched a channel for some rehabbing some previous rehabs plants so basically a back to back decline lol! They started adding this stuff called Silica I believe it was which in results made their leaves and roots on the plants super resilient to pests and edema and other things like rot I believe! I’m wondering if this may be something you would want to look into possibly for yours? I have zero experience myself but interested to know if others have used this method also? Great video as always planty friend! 🫶🏼🪴☺️

Oo I haven't used silica in forever but I definitely should!

Why do you have wrap around them? If one thing Ive learned the hard way is they love air and humidity. They love getting air in the roots and drying out but love constant watering. I keep mine in the most chunky medium I can make, consisting of most coco coir or perlite. And I dont keep them in a water reservoir. I let them get as much air to the roots as possible. I would also look into healthy microbes for your plants!

I wrap it in moss and some plastic to help root growth...that's the idea anyway lol some of my Anthurium love it and some ( these guys) seem to hate it! Lol 😆
