Once called Jurassic Life - Jurassic Vision is a first person adventure / shooter game set in Jurassic Park during the fall of the first park. We'll control Robert Muldoon and meet iconic characters like Hammond, as well as come face to face with the wide range of Jurassic Park Dinosaurs from the Velociraptor to the T-Rex to the Dilophosaurus, it's a working Jurassic Park fan game! Unless Universal has plans for a first person action game like the fans keep asking for and they refuse to deliver on, there's no reason at all why the public shouldn't have access to a game they are, frankly, too lazy to do. I'm actually very irate to find that out, because the first thing I wanted to do was play this for myself before I had it spoiled.
That said since we may likely never get to see it ourselves, please do continue to play the game!
It feels like the closest thing we have to something like this is the Telltale Jurassic Park game, which might have been better were it as varied in it's plot as their Walking Dead one, where your choices influence your story, even more like Until Dawn which sort of follows the same story but has many variations etc.

@@j.m.marshall669I actually dislike those games because you aren’t actually “playing” anything other than progressing a story. It was really boring to me. I wanted one where I could do what I want and go explore the island. Universal is more interested in childish movies and cartoons. They really don’t care about the original fanbase hardly at all.

It's so frustrating seeing projects like this.
It's always down to talented individuals to make them. And yet, no matter how much passion or respect they have for the IP they always get shut down.
When are bigger dev companies going to understand that these are the types of game we want. Not soulless cash grabs
It’s the mainstream curse, whoever owns the IP makes all of the rules in who gets to play in it and how.
As a game developer myself this is literally my dream to work on stuff like this, but corporations will just sue the head off of you

Amazing how fans with too much time on their hands can make a better more canon friendly jurassic park movie game than a huge studio. This reminds me a lot of Terminator Resistance, a game clearly made on the cheap. But done by fans of the source material who actually care.

It's weird how multi-billion dollar companies would rather shut down fan projects instead of ignoring or even just blessing/assisting the production of these small projects.

Yup! It's the dumbest thing. I think it's called: Hubris. And it's far too common amongst the multi-billion dollar companies.
It's infuriating when corporations like Capcom, Konami and Universal shut down fan projects that in no way threaten their IP, then do nothing of value with the IP at all.
People aren't allowed to have fun unless they pay for it... I hate this corporate dystopia :(
They shouldn't feel threatened, they should be like "those people are talented, love our IP... Let's hire them!"

@@Dinoslay that and IP no longer going back to the public after the creator's passing. Thanks to Disney, IP can be indefinitely hoarded by a corporation as long as they do 'something' with it every seven years.
@@brandonlee773 Not sure if it's entirely about money. They also need to protect the reputation of their brand. What if a fan makes a game with Jurassic Park images, logos, and names. The game contains something extremely damaging in it. For example, racism, sexism, nudity, something inappropriate for children or anything that could hurt the brand. Now they have their IP label slapped onto it. They can't fully vet and review every fan game to ensure this. So they simply shut it down.

Also lots of respect for the voice actors here, though some impressions may be a lot closer than others 😅 I’ve dabbled in amateur voiceover myself, so props to everyone who worked in this. Also all of this dilophosaur venom glands story line is straight out of the novel. And so is Norman Atherton. Awesome so far
Honestly, even with all the glitches, if you can manage a full play through of this, I think it’d be great. Not only to see how nice all the models are in the game but also to show off what the developers managed to do, out of love since they knew they’d never make a profit from it or have it available for everyone to experience.
(If at all possible, I’d suggest turning down the music or turning it off so you can avoid copyright issues. So your vids, and anyone else who has a channel and gets the download, can experience it too, even if they can’t play it)

would love to see a full playthrough of this, wow. i've seen a lot of fan games and dabbled with the source engine for plenty of years, but this is seriously something sooo special lol. shoutout the creators for this one, really impressive.

It always blows my mind that for all of Hammond's "spared no expense" boasting he skimped on programming for a mostly-automated theme park
I'm glad you got the opportunity to showcase this experience for us all here on UA-cam. Twenty-five minutes in and the game already makes Jurassic Park feel lived-in. The park is full of staff, all of whom appear to have names, doing things that feel natural in the setting, and the layout of the park feels like it flows naturally. I love how the staff are talking about locations in the park that we know about from the book, like the safari lodge, as well as other topics that are known from the book. The devs who created this experience clearly love Jurassic Park and really wanted to just bring the park to life and expand it in a way that supported and improved the setting. In the videos that you have already posted, a large number of locations have already been showcased that did not exist in the book or the movie, but they feel like they belong nonetheless because of how the devs chose to present these locations. It is a shame that Universal chose to kill this project instead of co-opting it and offering the devs a contract. I would not be surprised if the locations showcased here in these videos influence future fan content and how fans choose to imagine or portray the original Jurassic Park.

So THIS is what happened to Jurassic Life (im pretty sure it's the same mod from moddb), damn, i waited years for this mod to come out and i was sure it was dead, such a shame to see it will never see the light of day, but im glad im finally able to see gameplay of it, i hope you do a whole playthrough, would watch it from beginning to end.
It makes me mad a Universal that we can’t play this. I feel like games like this shouldn’t be shut down so long as they include a universal logo. It would essentially be free advertising for them.

They had me at 'you play as Muldoon'! Ray Arnold's voice actor could've been playing him as he was talking with a cigarette in his mouth. As for the game itself, THIS is how a JP tour should be! We finally get to see the employee living areas, tour facilities, and so much more! Of course the devs shut them down; the game these people were producing is EPIC and would take away from the one they're doing! The guy doing Muldoon's voice kinda sounds like Drew McIntyre. LOL
But yeah, a complete playthrough with no commentary, just letting us experience the game, would be AWESOME.
I know it likely wouldn't be like, massively popular, but... I would kill for a VR game that allows the player to experience Jurassic Park as a tourist taking the tour in the park vehicles during a normal day of operations.

I hope that, with the success of Hogwarts Legacy, other corporations (looking at you, UNIVERSAL!) will actually realise that there's immense untapped potential in certain film francises in terms of games, Jurassic Park first and foremost.
Second: It's both the Stegosaurus and the Tyrannosaurus that are misspelled BIS! In the movie it says "StegAsaurus" and "Tyranosaurus" I believe!
I've been following this project since it was called "Jurassic Life", and I have been dying to see what progress they have made since 2013. Its so amazing to see new and familiar faces and places, and how far they have come since they started the project. Im glad you were able to get some gameplay footage for us. I hope this gets finished and released soon. Even in its current state, I think many would be quite happy with what is available right now, flaws and all. There's just nothing like this out there right now, and people have been waiting too long for it.
Im hoping when it does release, that not only do we get to play the story campaign, but that were able to freely explore and mess around in these environments. I imagine that since the game runs on the half life 2 engine, it should be easy to port the maps over to games like Garry's mod. Imagine playing gmod prop hunt or murder in the visitor center. I cannot wait!

So to get this straight....Jurassic Park/ World is a mostly unused IP when it comes to games now (and i don´t count the mobile stuff for obvious reasons) but promising and free fan made stuff get´s banned. What a shitty move. I was excited for this mod since the first version with the visitor center but now i don´t even want to watch the full video cause of the bitter aftertaste of not even being able to play it myself. But thanks BestInSlot to at least make clear what happened to the project. I feel sorry for the people who worked on this for such a long time.
I do not understand how mods like this are not covered under the ‘transformative media’ sections for fair use of copyrighted content. They’re not selling it, they’re not making money off of it, and no aspect of their work hurts the legal copyright holders in any capacity.

Concrete buildings and electrified steel fences in a hawaiian jungle instantly gives this iconic "jurassic park" feeling, this foreboding uneasiness that you feel like something here doesn´t seem to be quite right. THAT is exactly what we want and the only way to get it is through a pov, first person survival shooter game. Universal, please look for a developer studio and MAKE it HAPPEN. Resident Evil Remakes are proof that Horror IP games sell like warm bred and Jurassic Park has always been part horror.
The big companies could just cooperate with fan projects like this. Instead of canceling them, they could take like a small percentage of their commercial income if someone wants to use big IPs like Jurassic Park.
A good bit of advice for fan game devs is to literally not talk about the project at all until it’s done and you’ve released it. At least then if it’s “shut down” by corporate interests, the game can still be copied and shared around by other people. Corps can’t stop it, once it’s out it’s out.
Ok, Universal needs to give this team the rights to make a proper game that can be released to everyone. This is really good! Clearly it can be done and it boggles my mind that no studio has been given the rights to make an open world JP game like this.

I'm so tired of the people in charge of Jurassic Park refusing to make cool new games that they know would sell, but then viciously shutting down all fan projects. If I could buy the IP, I'd fire everyone in charge and start making truly exciting things for the fans that have been more than patient.
Unfortunately, they seem to think the only type of games involving jurassic park that we want to play, are park builders. We have SO MANY PARK BUILDERS

You have no idea how much it pains me that Universal does not even attempt to use the Jurassic Park IP for any kind of third person or first person games. Even the Tell Tale game showed how amazing JP is in game format though that game isn't even comparable to what a game like this could be with AAA budget.
Even a plot as simple as JP3 would be incredible as a game! Make it to the coast after a plane crash and scavenge recourses and weapons along the way.

Stegosaurus (Stegasaurus)
Tyrannosaurus (Tyranosaurus)
and I think Velociraptor was spelled wrong as well.

This is what I want out of a Jurassic park game! Exactly this! Playing as Muldoon and all. Guns, tranqs, maybe some puzzles, missions and eventually getting off the island after getting left behind by everyone who thought Muldoon died. Maybe a little more open world would be cool so I could explore more. Maybe have more stuff from the book like the raptor. Eat they got stuck in or the boat ride or the Rex coming through the waterfall. I wonder if they gave them flak for this game because of Dr harding. I remember the reason he doesn’t look like the actor in the Xbox Jurassic park story game was because he didn’t give them permission to use his likeness. But either way if they are releasing the mod for free why should universal care, it’s not like it’s making money for someone else. If anything it would and could make universal more money because playing a game like this makes you wanna go watch the movies and stuff again.
Such a shame that there isn't anyone who could leak this to the public. Its happened to so many projects that got shut down.
