What if the Toymaker made the Doctor look like how he did in his "tenth" incarnation, so he could get Donna to remember for some reason. Maybe the Toymaker wants to use Donna's memory shield or something for his own use.
Theory I'd love to see a Matrix 4 style story where the celestial toymaker is manipulating David Tennant to bring back the show to his glory like he tried to do with Neo and trinity I really believe that RTD picked NPH for that reason He played that kind of manipulating character in the movie very well
To go off an a slight tangent I don’t know if that shot of london is fully accurate. Yes that is tower bridge, and the ship is HMS Belfast, but I don’t think the shard should be in there, as the shard should be in front of HMS Belfast and closer to London Bridge. That or they’ve achieved it from a very unusual angle that’s somehow got all 3 lol. Still looks beautiful though.
Just looked again on the moving shot. The shard is fine haha! It’s so tall that it not only fills the screen but would go pretty much below the bottom of the screen, thus bringing it forward into its right place ha! The still in the video just confused me. Also hope you get better!
Ruth Madely's character is in big finish- I believe as well as being in unit she is a companion of the sixth doctor. I really hope other big finish characters will be in future episodes and spin offs- there are so many great ones that I wish would appear in the show. Hopefully if theres an eighth doctor spin off- which both RTD and Paul said they would love to do if they had the budget (which they now have thanks to disney plus) they will have some of his many companions from his audiobooks like Charley Pollard or Lucie Miller.
Ruth's character in the Sixth Doctor Big Finish series is a marine biologist called Hebe. So unless there's a link between them or she uses Shirley Ann Bingham as an alias, then it's unlikely they're the same character. But I would like to see 8th Doctor spin off and intro more Big Finish companions !

I will be chasing down Michael Gough's Celestial Toymaker (or Alfred to Batman!) I think all audio survived but only 1 episode on film. Will try to track down Beep the Meep through DW magazine as back issues may have reprinted his story. Audio story should be easier to find & some are amazing (5th Doctor story used for TV Cyberman story- brilliant). I got to see Catherine Tate & David Tennent in London theatre together. When I was waiting around (to see it twice in one day) I saw her with Jason Orange. No press rubbish about, no one taking photos including me. They seemed very happy together, then falling for DT again that night.
Well done despite being so under the weather.! I think that it is a ship belonging to the Wraith warriors; the glowing red 'bubbles' on the nose look similar to the creatures eyes. Sometimes in Sci Fi productions, space ships have some feature based on the builders themselves (appearances, beliefs, etc.). As for Donna and her memories, the Doctor is saying that she can't remember him in that one clip. I have read some postulation that the specials contain be a fix-it that restores Donna so she can have her memories back. Neil Patrick Harris was using a German dialect in the once scene,. It is a somewhat exaggerated pronunciation bordering on a classic cliché sounding German accent. When he is wearing the top hat and speaks, his voice is different so perhaps each version of himself will have a different accent. So much to look forward to and such a long wait!
I think, tbh, that Donna having a kid somehow lets her remember, BUT, she doesn't remember already, and remembers during the episode, or at the end of it, idk tbh on that part
I'd presume the Toymaker is part of the multi-reality craziness. In it, the comic strip events are pulled into this reality and reinterpreted. I presume the tropes are retained ... Beep the Meep's escape pod lands on Earth. The Meeps were once a peace-loving species corrupted by the malign rays from the Black Sun. Pursued by a squad of Wrarth Warriors (genetically engineered soldiers built by a Space Council to defeat the Meeps). Perhaps Donna's family take Beep in, hence the Doctor and Wrarths homing in on that address, and the Doctor shocked to find Donna living there. Then we pick up the comic strip plot, with the revealed psychopath Beep forcing human slaves to build it a powerful spacecraft to flee Earth. We shall find out in 2023!! :)

What about the very brief image of Fourteen sliding under a desk in a high-tech looking room? Perhaps UNIT HQ? And it looks like maybe Donna standing in the background? It happens after a clip of a UNIT soldier running during an explosion in the street battle at the Noble residence.
To be honest, I think the reason Donna and fam could be moving is because Sylvia wanted to protect Donna so moving was the best option so the Doctor can't find her.

I loved beep the keeps psychotic tendencies but he never really clicked with me but with modern technology CGI he might be alot better it just seemed a bit ridiculous back then . It's RTD so I'm sure it's gonna be really good this time.

From what I heard, RTD felt there should be something Doctor Who related for the holidays, and there couldn't be an episode. Also, RTD loved emphasizing Christmas above New Year's, so that is why it was released on Christmas Day.

Beep the Meep was actually from 1980's Doctor Who Weekly comic strips, not the 70's. It was the third story and started in issue 19.

Beep the Meep's ball spaceship is reminiscent of Mork from Ork's egg spaceship.
My guess is that the rocket ship is the ship that Beep the Meep builds using slave labor to escape Earth in the original strip.
