- Super FAST Autobahn acceleration RUN with the all-new 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio (former QV) powered by a 2.9 liter Twin-Turbo V6 delivering a whopping 510 hp and 600 Nm of torque (weight: 1.595 kg) The special thing about this particular car is the manual transmission which maybe isn't for beginners but gives the car an emotional character BMWs M3 and Mercedes-AMGs C63s don't have. Speaking about those two competitors, my rough acceleration figures are only slightly slower than BMW and AMG, and that's mainly due to this car's manual transmission, with the AT8 it would likely be faster as many other magazines have already proven! More...it sounds so unbelievable that (if you are in Race mode) you can hear it from 1 mile away!!! Specifically once the valves are opening there is no doubt that this engine and exhaust system was developed by former Ferrari guys (which I met by the way) and the they truly know what they were doing....It's hard to say this, but I think this is the best car I've driven so far, cause its so much better than I expected! I've worked at a park that stores Fiat and Alfa Romeo before the cars go to the dealers and i had the pleasure of driving this car 4-5 times and my god....give me the manual transmission everyday over the automatic. Yes the auto is a bit faster but the Manual the connection you feel with the car, the slight throttle you give when you're coming to a stop etc it's just phenomenal! And the sound...don't know why but the Manual sounded better than the Auto...more growling, rumbling, just incredible!

Theoretically true but, the difference between staying in gear and downshifting with rev-match is not that big when you are slowing down. In fact, unexperienced driver can cause a spin in rwd car when downshifting. So you don't need to downshift perfectly to stop. You can wait in 6th gear until the rpm is around 3000-2500, after that you can downshift within the range of more "normal" speeds. If car is stable enough, there won't be a huge difference between auto and manual.
the fuck are you talking? damn. You can break down to 60 kmh with the 6th gear in. Engine breaking? i cant believe people still think this has to do with breaking and even think its more effective than the actual breaks. Gearbox is not here for breaking, makes sense right. The question is have you ever driven 250+ kmh ?

PeacefulWarrior what he was saying is mostly garbage. You should never be worried about gears and rev matching or whatever has to do with gearbox in challenging situations. Only focus on breaking and keeping the car in lane and dont loose control. In emergency just break as hard as you can, esp and abs will stable the car. Dont worry about gears for fucks sake.

I know that's from the clutch, I was just looking at the gating mechanism of the gearbox and it is scary.

of course it is, but no transmission ever was made for shifting this style

The last minute before it comes to the US, they canceled the manual transmission because clutch is not safe. They made a huge mistake.

Not an Audi, but this car costs around 80,000€ and what you get is pretty good.Audis cost over 100,000€ though...And this car has a record for fastest Nürburgring/Nordschleife lap with a 4 door sedan...
I'd take this over any Audi in this category.
On the shifting: Giulia QV is fitted with a race shifting mode; gears can be changed without using the clutch. Clearly, if you want to use the car for a bit longer than a race season, owners are advised to use the clutch 😀. But technically, even harder shifts are possible. Nice vid', btw. Thanks.

Geiles Auto ! Sieht super aus, Hammer Sound und die Performance ist fett! Weiß nicht wie die Verarbeitung ist , aber das Auto ist definitiv ne Ansage ..!

Bezweifle, dass die Verarbeitung und Materialgüte mit einem C63 mithalten kann... :)
Hilli Hilli also in den letzten Jahren hat sich Mercedes massiv (!) gebessert in der Verarbeitungsqualität. Jedoch kommt im normalen bis Premium Segment , so glaube ich, keiner an Audi Ran . Materialien, Spaltmaße , einfach perfekt . Jedoch sind die jetzigen MB-Modelle sehr sehr gut geworden .

Ich finde, dass deine Videos mit die besten im Bereich Auto-Reviews sind. Aber eine Sache muss ich mal kritisieren: musst du immer so vom Parkplatz runterballern? Ich meine da stehen LKW. Die Fahrer sind froh wenn sie bei dem Lärm direkt an der Autobahn schlafen können. Aber wenn jemand neben denen durchlädt, fällt jeder wieder aus'm Bett.. Ich würde es gut finden, wenn du das beim nächsten Videodreh berücksichtigen würdest. :)

+_That_Croatian_Petrolhead_ It's epic! Every manual in a 500 hp car feels heavy, Audi R8 and Gallardo manual is kind of the same. You need to get used to it, but once you learned how to shift I think you don't want the automatic anymore.

I cambi manuali vanno usati con delicatezza.
La cambiata può essere rapidissima (magari a cambio caldo) ma con la delicatezza di un chirurgo. Se cominci a usare il cambio come antistress ed a strattonarlo... i sincronizzatori ti durano 2 giorni 😭

+Stefano Rendina RACE Modus geht nur ohne Traktionskontrolle und ESP. Das ist erstens im Straßenverkehr nicht ganz ohne Risiko und zweitens wahrscheinlich auch für die 0-100 Zeit nicht förderlich.

Fun video, love mt's, will continue to get them, but, what is with a lot of the euro manufacturers and these crap 5th and 6th ratios? They're way too short. My own car seems to have similar top gears as this and it has 200 less hp and even then are a bit on the short side for top end runs. Not the end of the world but still, annoying. Anybody else? Or am I on my own on this one......

You are funny with yours acceleration test. What’s going wrong with your start?! Why you don’t repeat the test? Giulia accelerated to 100 km/h in 3,9 sec and this is true.

Bas pour 510 ch je trouve pas sa énorme c dommage en plus je la trouve jolie cette quadrifolio après peut être quel est lourde genre 1 tonne 8 la je comprend mais quand tu voit des seat leon polo golf scirocco préparer à 350 ch pour 1 tonne 3 qui frôle les 300 bas c est énorme ! pour si peut de puissance ! Mais bon sinon une tres belle sonorité du v6 !🙄
