  • Making soup is easy. I love making soup. This soup is one of my family’s favorites. Soup is great to make when you have produce in the house that needs to be used up, or is just great to make on a cold day.
If I can do this for my family, you can too. Be blessed, be encouraged, know that you are loved, and be a blessing to someone else.

The National Center for Home Food Preservation is a wonderful resource. I check this sight every time I can anything. I am not affiliated with them, but they are a free resource that I recommend.

Hi I just saw your video when I searched for hamburger soup. This is 09/09/2024. I am 73 and have made hamburger soup for so many years. My husband likes for me to can all the veggies in quart jars without the meat. He takes the jars with him to our hunting cabin. When he’s there with his buddies he fries the hamburger fresh when he’s ready to make soup and adds the jars of veggies. We call it soup mix. I add a lot of other veggies including Lima beans and a little cabbage. But for quarts I pressure for 90 minutes. The reason I searched for hamburger soup canning recipes is because I wanted to see how others were doing it. I want to add the hamburger to my recipe so it will be complete and faster for a meal. Thanks for the video.

This is 6-24-23, I watched your video on you tube about your hamburger soup, I love the looks of this and want to try this, but I have never seen you on you tube before and I like your show you are very quick and you have all the info. Anyone who wants to can, should be able to do so by watching your show the only thing I would suggest is to give the amounts of each item you use. I know you said use what you have but for a beginner is easier to follow a recipe, and then when they get more comfortable with the process then they can add there own ingredients more comfortable.

Great soup! I add cheese to my Hamburger soup to make Cheeseburger soup. Chicken noodle with thick noodles are requested by my teen boys. Chili to can makes quick meals that they can cook when Mom is not in the mood to cook. Thank you for your videos!

Hi, I love your videos. Your recipes look scrumptious and hearty for the family. You state that you use pints vs. quarts because if you use quarts you don't eat it. May I ask why that is? Just a preference or is it too much? I don't want to be nervous about any of my steps in making this. Thank you and God bless.

I take soup to work. Or we eat soup for lunch. A quart of soup is too much for me to eat for lunch. I use pints because of the way we eat soup. If we ate soup all the time for a family meal I would use quarts. Use the size jar that will work for how your family eats soup. I can always open more than one jar if I need to. When I have made quarts of soup, they sat on my shelf for a long time. We just didn't go through them. That is why I make pints now. We use them.
      Be so blessed.

@@saltandlightcanning4061 Thank you. Yes, pints will do it then. I'm excited to make your recipes. Have a blessed day. Be safe and take care.

I found your video totally by accident but was intrigued because it seems no one has ever heard of Hamburger soup. I use whole tomatoes that I cut up myself, onion, hamburger, kielbasa and corn. (I tried potatoes once and didn't like them in the soup, and I'm not a big veggy fan). I never thought of canning. I'm going to have to try that so I don't have to eat hamburger soup all week.

I love soups too and how convenient it is to make a large pot up and get so many jars of it canned up producing a lot of meals . When I can up soups I do use the quart sized canning jars . I love to see them on my shelves just waiting for when I’m needing a quick meal for my family . I tend to enjoy tomato based soups the most also . I also use diced tomatoes in my hamburger soup and I add just a little bit of sugar in mine and it really enhances the flavor of the soup and I also add in chili powder in it too . If you don’t mind me asking, could you tell me the brand of BBQ spice that you used?
I liked the fact that you explained that you need a ratio of half liquid to half part of solids for any new viewers watching that haven’t been canning very much because it’s a very important step in canning your own food. I just like knowing I have canned up food that I know what’s in it and that it’s got ingredients in it that we like and the fact that it’s canned in glass jars instead of tin cans so no tinny taste like food gets when it’s canned in tin cans if it sits for awhile on the shelf till I use them all up . Blessings!💕

I think I'd can mine for 75 minutes!

This is the first time watching your channel. I love the content, but can't handle the loud music & fast forwarding.
