This is as exciting as when they released the spectral FX (moot point regarding the "controversy") They made a unique sound with Bitwig I can't find with any other plugin. And now these guys. They took it to a next level. The best sounding update ever
Really hope they release an Additive oscillator in the future. If it would have the option to import waveforms or samples and extract partials from them would be the dream.
I really enjoy your videos, consise and also with good accent. Bitwig is fun while dauting at the same time. So many parameters to tweak. Now you're making this barrier lower for us with these well-presented tutorials. Thank you so much.
Oh, oh, oh?!? With the keywords »Additive« und »Modal« I'm immediately triggert. Bitwig is on my list for a long time but currently I'm very happy with Reaper. Now would probably be the time to really try Bitwig. Maybe as a Christmas present to me. 🙂
4:08 This is odd. Why has Bitwig listed powers of 2 and called it "harmonic relationships"? That makes no sense. Harmonic series is x1, x2, x3, x4, x5... etc.
5:24 I don't think what you do here is "harmonic". Quantising to an equal tempered scale does not produce a harmonic spectrum. If you want a traditional harmonic additive synth, I'd suggest using the ratio input and feeding it integers (assuming that's possible - I'm not a grid expert!).
It's a great video Robert! I think you could make more videos about voice stacking with specific examples. It's awesome what you show us here but i'm sure most of people still don't understand power of this feature. So it would be nice to watch creating of beautiful evolving pads, juicy and complex basses, fat synths with voice staking. General and simple examples are nice too but solid and complex examples can give more inspiration. And raise your audience also.
One last one: before this upgrade, I was committed in learning sound design inspired by Bitwig and Phaseplant. But I always felt I'd never be as good as you, Das Glitch or Venus Theory who you all blow my mind with these inspiring patches you created. However, with this new update it inspired me so much, I'm NOW fully determined to be as good as you three. I might literally be selling off some of my vsti licenses hearing creative marvels from this update. Don't need them
2:40 - Polarity creates the next trend in risers. Thanks for sharing! I'm already thinking about this + the wavetable oscillator while modulating the wavetable >_>
Grid has become so much powerful that WE NEED something to create GUIs for devices. I don't care about colors and pictures but a GUI with only the controls I really need, because we can now really get lost in big modular schematics. I usually make a little section apart in the Grid where I put all the controls useful to modulate for the patch as I intended it, but I don't like to work in this way (expecially when I want to pass my patches to other people and they need tyo know what to modulate and what not. Yes we can do it in the device GUI with the 8 macros per page but it is not the same, Grid became so much powerful and deep. Having the possibility of creating interfaces for my modular devices exactly as I do with Reaktor would be the definitive thing that would make me take the step of stopping developing in Reaktor to replace it 100% with just the Grid and thus work in a totally native way. (sorry for my bad english man).

Excellent breakdown Pol! 🎉👌yeah I also felt its soo much new stuff to explore for a single video. One of the best updates IMO! Filter+ is sick! 🎸☕️
yess!
This Peak Limiter literally saved our lives
I was intimidated by these features but you did a great job explaining them. Thanks.

The atonal spreads of the sine oscs sounds immediately like early stockhausen elektro-musik.
"Immediately" is key, since dialing in every partial and filter pole by hand with test equipment must have been a chore - if still a fun chore.
This is an excellent tutorial. I can think of loads of applications for this now you've explained it.

16:55 - That's what we've been talking about. So great to see, good thinking!
Coming through quick with the content, well done mate.
Great concept.
It´s just so much stuff to cover, i dont know where to start first :D
@@PolarityMusic I'm keen to look at the shapers in terms of what they can do from a phase perspective
Awesome 👏 cheers for the video , look forwards to some mor 5.1 deep dives

You never fail to blow my mind!
Oversampling - There needs to be a global setting, now more than ever with these new toys...

Yea for sure, more videos coming!
Very good!! Thanks!! DId not even think of that.

Great stuff, thanks for this inspirational video :)
i just bought bitwig plan at the right damn time :D

agree! making interface would be so dope!
insane dude, great job
I add a stack and I have a triangle icon with a red exclamation mark in the stack. Doesn't seem to be working yet. Macbook on m2
and voice control (
when you hover with the mouse over the red triangle. what does the text say?

Thanks! Done
When is bitwig gonna Get scale? In midi roll
They shouldn't have done that... now we're gonna ask for 64-voice stacking...
Also, 9:28 thought you were gonna play the main theme of Spirited Away
This is really impressive. It would be great if there was a way to manipulate information from voice info module...
Wait... Maybe math? :)
Yes you can take the numbers from the info module and manipulate them with math :)
Math Power!

What about it?
Just bookmarking specific parts to come back to
Hard to pronounce........ 🤓.... Rizziprickles
30 % of the Bitwig User uses the Grid, so its better to explain the newCharacters and Filters in Polymer and DAW functions, just my opinion !!!
Not sure about the 30% but I try to increase the number 😅
