As someone who played the majority of the series before emerald, when i finally got around to playing it i thought it was so overrated. The climax sees the player walk up a couple flights of stairs to trigger a glorified deus ex machina. Anyone could’ve done that and i genuinely think that ruby and sapphire’s story is better by having the player fight the legendary. Also emerald completely shafted contests so the only thing it has is a battle frontier with 2 rng facilities. I don’t see the hype

I'm gonna say it, and no. I'm not sorry. SWSH weren't all that bad. They obviously aren't the best games in the franchise, but they're certainly not the worst. And before you go replying assuming me to be "11 years old" or some ageist crap like that, I can see the flaws that they have.
This is a good list for people of age 30+ who played all pokemon in order. But for younger generations who did not start with older games, the list will be different. As for myself, I agree. Emerald is the best, because it feels complete. Same reason for black and white 2, it feels complete and has so many legendaries available. I think scarlet/violet do not deserve 6th place...should be somewhere around 10th place. Arceus is FAR better then Scarlet/Violet and should be considered a mainline game as well.
I’m young and haven’t been able to play many Pokémon games however Scarlet and Violets storyline is really good and well made compared to others it feels like they actually tried on the storyline. I’m not sure how the other games are and I won’t be able to understand the nostalgia of them. However, based off the games I have played Scarlet and Violet have been the best by far so all the way at 10 would be crazy for me to imagine.
I played Gen 1, followed by Gens 3, 4 and 5 {couldn't play Gen 2:( }. Yet, Emerald being #1 pisses me off. I played Platinum far more than Emerald, because there was so much more to do in Platinum. Oh, and bonus points for The Underground.
