Classic UK TV Theme ~ Animal Magic (Las Vegas)

- This is Las Vegas, composed by Laurie Johnson, performed by Group Forty Orchestra, and it is the well known theme to Animal Magic.
This is a very popular piece that has been used in many TV & Radio productions and in Commercials over the years.
Animal Magic was a BBC children's television series which ran from 1962 to 1983.
The presenter was the avuncular Johnny Morris. His charismatic style and genuine fondness for animals made the show an instant hit with children and adults alike. The show combined jovial voiceovers applied to various animals from Bristol zoo with some basic educational features.
"After 50 minutes, Dr. Clarkson had finished changing his spark plugs..."
Andy Lee "the bonnet is eating my head"
@@lambertbutlersilvers6588 "so the doctor came up with an engineering solution"
Come to think of it, after changing the plug, he should had a big relief, like "YEEEEES, ALL SEX!", Given Clarkson was more like a porn star than a doctor (twice) when changing those plugs
C'MON!!!!!
and started to make a mess with his oil change
I want this as the exit music at my funeral.
I want the William Tell overture
Loved Animal Magic with Johnny Morris
Loved it when Johnny Morris gave the animals voices. This music takes me right back to my school days in the 70’s and away from today’s madness!
Aaaaaaaah, how wonderful to hear this again, I never knew what it was called when they used it for Animal Magic. This takes me back to being a lad, after school, and filled with tea and crumpets toasted by the fire, watching Johnny Morris at Bristol Zoo.
Not THAT was pure Magic - he was a genius for giving humorous commentaries on behalf of the animals. Still loved, still missed.
R.I.P. Laurie Johnson - thank you for the Music.
This mixes into " Gene Kelly " - " singing in the Rain " then back to animal magic.
The more i listen to it i hear " singing in the rain" with animal magic oversampling.
Thanks Johnny Morris ! great TV shows back then in the 70's. Real TV when we were kids ! no spaceage crap !
sounds more like " Sheila & B Devotion 1979 " Singing in the rain " to a cha cha beat.
I am 59 and so miss Sir Johnny Morris !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brings back some good memories for me coming home from school and sitting down to watch animal magic before we had our tea.

Makes me sad that i can't go back to the 1970s so I can live it all again, Those week day afternoons watching animal magic were simple but happy times ..

Born in 1965 and I remember this tune and it brings back great memories.
Wow this takes me back, what a fantastic piece of music!!
Ah, reminds me so much of sunny days at the zoo, blue skies, families at picnics, and of course, the animals.
Johnny Morris taught me nature...
Definitely remember it from my youth as the theme tune to Animal Magic!
The centre section sounds like Singing in the rain
definitely!
Loved Animal Magic and it was very magical too, I loved old Johnny Morris.
Shame I was not born in the UK. This is brilliant.
+priapus56 we just want to destroy everything to build houses...
whingers even :). In fact I used to play rugby as a winger in my days of youth. It's a specialist position to be a REAL winger in rugby and not just about finishing off tries. If only our country WAS full of them. (LOL.)
Look what u missed..
“ This is brilliant, but I like this ”
They don't do theme tunes like they used to 😍😍😍
i really wish i had an alarm clock i could set up with mp3's cause this would make me dance out of bed every morning instead of fall out of bed onto the floor every morning
Always playing in my mind when I'm at Bristol Zoo :)

One of those tunes that suddenly pops into your head and you search for it on t'internet.....

"Oddly James began by doing housework"
The way he guessed how the animals said things. Well, seemed to. Magic.

“Must crush action jerks”
I know I have heard this song somewhere but I can’t for the life of me remember where!!!! Help.
If you play it backwards, you'll hear a secret message:
"Crush the Action Jerks! They wrecked my life, and now you're gonna wreck theirs!"
How I loved this show, I feel a bit sad now.
Just heard this on call the midwife tonite 😊
Me too..................what a memory of 60's TV shows
In the early 80's I was a mini cab driver in north London. Johnny Morris took my cab from Pickets Lock Edmonton to Paddington station. He was chatting to his companion, never heard someone swear so much lol
Amazingly this has only had one release on vinyl! As part of a compilation on BBC records called something like “children’s classic theme’s” or something like that!!!!!
Animal Magic mixed with Singing in the Rain!
MUST. CRUSH. ACTION JERKS.
Action League Now!, anyone?
just randomly started whistling this.
Action league now brought me here
"Crush the Action Jerks! They wrecked my life, and now you're gonna wreck theirs!"
For some reason, Fred brought me to this O.o
Rip Laurie Johnson
also used for the "Good old fashioneds" at the end of the Chris Evans Breakfast show!
1983? So how come I woke up with THAT tune running thru my head this morning? The mind is very weird
DarkAngel, this is definitely Animal Magic.
Thundergirl: "This is called a juicer."
Alien: "Primitive. Juicer. What is?"
Thundergirl: "You just push that carrot in, and it comes out juice. Try it!"
(Thundergirl turns on the juicer, juicing both the carrot and the alien)
Thundergirl: "Ewww! I'm not drinking that!"
MUST CRUSH ACTION JERK! MUST CRUSH ACTION JERK!
@@webgamer5676 "Crush the Action Jerks! They wrecked my life, and now you're gonna wreck theirs!"
Laurie Johnson also did many themes including The Professionals : ))
His most famous was the theme of the Avengers.
[Plays Animal Magic in Reverse, playing as subliminal message]
Hodge Podge: Crush the action jerks! They wrecked my life and now you're gonna wreck theirs!
You can also hear it playing on Call the Midwife when the kids are watching tv
THE BONNET IS EATING MY HEAD!
arrived her after Shazam found the name of this music, which is currently used in the O2 adverts (be more dog), before the start of The Big Bang Theory.
Bring back animal magic BBC please.
It wouldn't quite have the same magic without Johnny Morris
Yeah we can do that, Get some 4be2be4be2be from the Van dad!
Can imagine strictly starting to this.
Yeah, we can do that.
Cirque du soleil Vareikai lol XD
This particular song is the same one that brainwashed the townspeople into destroying the Action League, and not to mention that this was played by Hodge Podge in "Hit of Horror".
Orbit gum polish commercial ;D
is this royalty free?
Must crush action jerks.
I was sorry to hear that they are planning to close bristol zoo down in 2022 and move it out of the city
I wonder what instruments were used here.
What advert is this song from does anyone know?
Best elevator music ever!!
LAURIE JOHNSON
W1A!
:) that is all
This is the campest TV theme ever.
Robert Tudor, you are the campest thing here.
The Old People's Car Challenge.
And the cheap super cars for less than a 2 year old mondeo challenge
As this is called Las Vegas and not something animal related. Am i right in thinking it was composed before the series and was just chosen as the theme music?
You sure this was the theme to "Animal Magic"? Sounds more like "Come Dancing" to me.
